This isn't necassarily true. I do just fine in advanced gear in pubs 9/10 times. Not long ago, I joined a random squad (won't name corp) in a pub. After the match was over (we won) the SL asked if I had proto, I said yes. He said "You have to run it if you want to stay in squad." I said "you going to pay me?" He said "No." So I left the squad. Funny thing is, I was number one on the boards the whole match.
I only play dust514ums now. It was always more fun than the actual game anyways.

Ps. When i started to play Dust, i was using Cal assault. Everybody used Duvolle with 3x dmg mods. AR and armor were kings, shields were crap. I/others played without complaining on forums.

While Dust certainly isn't the casual's game, it doesn't justify overkilling those who aren't on your level yet.
I don't intend to villainize anyone or point fingers. Humans, by nature, are greedy and will exploit what they can. My point is that it's important to be aware of those who are lesser, and instead of looking down on them and ruining their enjoyment of New Eden, we should be staying out of their way while they progress to a point where they can experience the game on our level. I'm not only referring to new players, I'm also talking about solo veterans like myself who can't stand up to entire squads of proto veterans.
Though I suppose we won't have to worry about all this when we get some proper matchmaking and/or meta level based matches.

About proto. I forgot to add.
It's easier to profit in proto if you know what you're doing. You'll earn more wp [more isks], you have greater chance to live etc.

1. The 5h1t payouts put us on tight budgets.
2. Why bother to help the team last a minute longer but still fail anyway, and lose ISK? Assuming your berries are in something resembling a "team", and not scurrying all over the map while an organized red team sits all happy on the OBJ.

People are hearing cursing like kids and saying I will do the hell whatever I want. Sadly no man is an Island, if there are no players on the other team you cant kill yourself. If you make the game unbearable for new players then they all live and the game will be dead, all your effort and money (if you spent any) will go to waste. It would be nice if we had tiers of pubs: milita only gear, standard and below, advanced and below, proto and below.

I don't have my own district so PC is just pubs for me too, only with extra ISK.

I have 9 Proto suits. And a s***tonne of isk. Why am I not going to use them?
I do enjoy running BPO only though, I'll run my Templar fit regularly, and still pull good scores. But the rest of the time theyre my fun fits. Besides, I PC pretty much daily, and that barely dents my isk so ive got to use it on something.
At the end of the day yes its annoying, yes its a pain to play against, but if you were in my position, im pretty sure you would too.

If my squad mates want to run proto so we can have faster uplinks and needles that don't leave us with little to no health you won't see me complaining. Same goes for the other team.

if I have a match with 3-6 individual proto players, I can hunt them down as easy as every other player.
but the assclowns I have to face every god damn day I play are flocking together in 6-10 proto player groups. they have eyes everywhere and scan in all directions (mostly not a problem for me when I run dampeners)...but even when I manage to down 1 or 2 of them the rest of them will just turn around and insta- vaporize me. and if I didn't managed to bleed them out in these very few seconds I have after killing them, they'll just get revived...so resulting that I lost a suit in a suicide mission and them not losing their proto suit which puts me in a worser position..

I fluctuate tiers based on the enemy.
If they're terrible I stick to my proto.
If I'm solo I run proto.
If I'm in a full squad I use proto.
If they're really good I use proto.
If they're the best players in the game I use proto.
If there's a contest for the most kills with a militia sidearm, I use proto.
So it varies from situation to situation.
