Pc is crap that's why.
There is no orginazed corp battles ( game mode )
So there is 1 or 2 pc every now and then where 16 players can take part and there is ffw where q sinking is a pain
And there is pub

You're blaming teamwork, you know? If they would be in adv suits, they would still manage to do that.
that was one of my points. but proto gives them an edge of taking longer to kill and dealing more damage in return. I can kill 4 militia players (not academy noobs) flocking together.
I think dust514 needs a mode were ppl can't join with squads and ppl from the same corp will put into different teams. |

I brought this up in the features and ideas forums asking for meta level lockout to be a high priority feature.
Sadly even the CPM seem to think that protostomping in pubs is acceptable, or at the very least refused to admit that meta lockout would be a step in the right direction.
The responses in this thread only substantiate my arguments that this needs to be implemented asap.
New player retention has to be addressed if we want this game to last a little longer or if we want to have a chance of it being ported to the PS4. The only item on the roadmap that addresses this is meta level lockout. |

I have been in way too many matches where everyone starts out with MLT, STD and maybe even ADV gear.
But as soon as one side starts to loose, they whip out their proto gear.
Which is sad. I see many people in the forums saying that "Proto is not OP teamwork is" but you see them always running proto (cuddos to those who don't)
This mentality of "I earned it and I will use it" good for you. Now, how does it feel to be steam rolling on New Berries fresh out of the academy that have little to no chance against you even if you were using MLT gear?
CCP should take away the KDR stat from the game. Not only does it promote this type of gameplay but also provides more FOTM just so that people keep a positive FOTM.
The mentality of "I will use my Proto gear to ensure victory" it speaks for itself. They need their proto gear to stay competitive. I can stay competitive in my STD 'Quafe' Gallente Assault with my 'Exile' Assault rifle, going positive and also doing my darn hardest to capture points, defend areas and make sure my team is not camping any CRU or Uplink. If you feel like you need Proto gear to stay competitive in PUBS then this game is not for you.
Only time I will ever use my proto suit is when I want to test out this new build I made or when I go to GFW. Other than that 'Quafe'GalAss with 'Exile' all day long.

You can't base gameplay on meta level. Half the community doesn't even know meta level exist. Proto stomp is a part of the game and I bet half the people here don't run in close squads and everyone adv. Stomps to a new player that is just as bad. If not worse because it is cheap protos risk more.

Ok, so would you rather people only use BPO suits, not squad, and intentionally miss targets, not snipe / use mass drivers & HMGs, no grenades or RE's, not revive, not rep, only throw uplink in exposed areas so that everyone has a shot at you when spawn, randomly place nano hives around the map?
I'm just joking with a bit - not messing with you too much. I can understand you asking about meta gear tiers in some pub matches but it's just not really feasible to make a statement about not playing competitively. As they say...you play to win the game.
As for proto squads: I can't advocate in any way for not using teamwork. The game for all it's faults has firmly gotten the fact that teamwork I can be the deciding factor in just about every situation. I can see the idea that perhaps Ambush gamemode offers a "no squad" mode...use the no-vehicle mode and add the addendum of no squads as well but I wouldn't take it much further than that at the moment.
Using proto gear seams to be your biggest beef and truthfully i don't know what to tell you on this. I absolutely acknowledge that it can be a frustrating experience as a newer player to run into a squad of X corp in full proto gear in a match. I think it's also pretty clear that whether they are running proto gear or not that squad would probably steamroll anyway and the end result and player scores probably wouldn't change that much.
My question back to you is why wouldn't some one with 50mil plus SP and maintains 600mil plus ISK in the wallet at all times NOT want to run proto gear whenever they choose? Is it because we want to protect rookie players from the predations of veterans? That's not really reflective in anyway of CCPs New Eden IP or a lot of MMOs for that matter.
I can see turning pubs into more a high-sec style area that limits you to ADV gear. FW should stay free for all and in fact they need to add a legitimate team deploy option to FW. Let me be clear though...it won't change the "stomping" nearly as much as you think it will.

That has got to be one of the most absurd comparisons I have ever read. Not only are you talking about real life and cars..... using a nice car does not detract from other road users fun does it?
If guy A. was to drive around in his Aston, it makes absolutely no difference to guy B. having fun in his first car driving around in a 1.2 litre Ford Fiesta.

If you play ambush regulary on the US servers, you should have run into the corp called Carne Corne Papas or something similar:
Some of their players feature in the top 20 on the leaderboard...
This corp was only set-up to fight in ambush 23.5 hours a day...
In an email exchange with one of them recently, he said he hoped to be top of the board by May.
These players won't be going away. Switch servers, leave the battle, play another game mode until they sort out match making.

Anyone half decent can protostomp the plebs, the trick is to "stomp the stompers", which we occationally do very well.
And for my own part, except for the very rare occational trolling fit I simply have not run anything but proto since launch. I never have any non proto suits fitted at the ready, they just do not sort of excist in my "vocabulary", so to speak.
Maybe one day when I get low on ISK (Mua ha ha ha ha ha) I will consider using adv suits, not very likely I must admit.

Explain to me how using proto makes people quit playing the game. When I started playing proto was 10x as powerful as it is now and I only had a MLT submachine gun with horrible hit detection (original min logi). It only made me want to get gud more, not to quit. On top, many of the recent (ish) updates have been to shrink the gap between STD and proto gear.
I'm gonna use proto gear when I want and wherever I want. You have three options when you run into me.
1. Die like everyone else
2. Get gud and kill me
Or
3. Run
(back when I was a newbie, when I saw red eyes I'd turn and run the other direction. There's no shame in choosing to engage players of equal skill /gear)
