The minmatar scout, this suit fills the role of an assassin, but with the recent updates regarding ewar, the minmatar scouts role has gotten a lot harder due to the fact that if u are 6 to 10m of your target they will detect u. Now this wouldn't be a problem to the other-áscouts but to the minmatar scout that runs knifes that need to be charged to atleast down most adv. suits, it is a problem, some ppl would say: "thats enough time for u to kill them" when in reality its a lot harder. Sure u can kill a distracted target but a target thats running around or not engaging any targets will most of the time see u on their radar due to the fact that u need to be 2.50m to land a nova knife hit, now I normally run damps but now u need at least 1 complex dampener and an extra basic dampener to remain invisible to most targets, this is bad for the minmatar scout because we already have the lowest ehp and a high risk role, and now we need to give up another slot to be able to accomplish this CQC role properly.
In the past there have been multiple threads about giving the minmatar scout a dampening bonus, this probably means giving up one of our current bonuses which are hacking speed and nk damage bonus, I like both of these bonuses but I feel like the minmatar needs to exchange that hacking speed for a dampening bonus this will help by allowing to get close while not being detected.
The new ewar system is great, but I feel that the minmatar scout needs to be looked at. For a scout with a shotgun, getting close to its target and attacking it isn't a problem because the shotgun has more range and doesn't need to charged in any way like the nova knifes.
The minmatar scout is the least used scout according to multiple threads, so we got the threads that say they are the least used scouts and the threads that say they need a buff, what else do u need to realize that they need to be looked at CCP?
Lets keep this thread on topic pls and look for ways to make this dropsuit's role more efficient.

The best way to buff the Minmatar Scout would be to reduce the PG usage of Kinetic Catalyzers.
Someone's gotta tell the stupids that their ideas are bad, and I guess it's my job...

As a Minja for almost 2 years, at this point I would like to see some of the things that really need fixing to be fixed, and then we will have a better understanding of where we are, and what we can adjust on the Minmatar Scout so that it performs better without being over powered.
If there is one thing I hate more than being UP its being FotM.

Protofits gives the gallente scout 11.11 m/s and the min scout 10.87 m/s max. That's four kincats on the gal and 3 on the min. I haven't run the gal, so I don't know if the difference is actually noticible.

I think the best way to buff minnie scouts is to give them a higher base sprint speed. Just make it a little easier to reach the speed cap, or at least to get closer to it. Having to only fit 2 complex kincats to hit the speed cap as opposed to 3 would be a godsend, and it would help scouts that run ewar a ton as well.

I honestly do not think Min Scout needs any buffs other than a reduction of back peddle speed across the board. Don't touch cpu or pg of the suit or any mods or give it any extra speed or shield or armor or bonus.
Just reduce back peddle speed across the board and never touch the min scout again.

Honestly if players just had lower backpedal speed than that's all that would be needed to make Minjas more viable. You don't need to charge your swings on suits that are aware of you just keep swinging and if they can't backpedal at 100% it should become much easier.
Charging is for people not paying attention as you could hear knives being charged even before the scan update. I know I always spin around the second I hear a knife charge, often times to finding a teammate trolling me... |

Why would you have to worry about the min assault? It's flexible but that's not OP. It excels at nothing but a slight speed buff. It's not our fault if Gallente, Caldari, and Amarr slap on several armor plates to make themselves slow. They can use ferroscale just like us. |

That's really funny. I actually used that exact fit cause it was easier than adding all the modules on my phone. I set the skills to max. I guess it just didn't update quite right. I stand corrected. |

Alright so most ppl suggest more pg and speed. I agree to the speed buff because other scouts can be faster and still have more ehp. I believe Rattati said something about increasing the pg on the suit but I don't think it ever happened.

I still think they should buff the damp modules, it takes 1 complex damp and a basic damp to not get scanned by the assaults thats including the skill bonus of 10% and even so, other scouts will still detect u.
So it takes 1 complex damp and at least 1 basic damp to remain undetected by an assault that hasn't skilled into precision, but it only takes 1 adv or complex precision module to detect a scout with the modules mentioned before.
So as we can see stealth in this game has taken a beating, the gallente scout and caldari scout aren't affected as much because they have a damp bonus that allows them to use only 1 complex damp to remain invisible to the assaults radar, the amar has a precision bonus as well as more slots than the minscout allowing it to have a small amount of stealth while still having a good amount of armor.
I would like either a damp bonus to minscout or a buff to damp modules, I think an extra 5% to all damp mods(basi/adv/pro). But this is just my opinion so who cares.

You guys are right, disregard what I said about the speed bonus. Backpedal penalty is all we need, and it's something I've been wanting for months. Implement it properly and I will never complain about the state of the min scout again.

Umm... speed buff and a significant kincat pg reduction (to mirror or be slightly higher than cardiac regs) sounds good. Honestly, the Min Scout doesn't actually seem too bad...

This game gets complicated and its easy to miss things. It took me a long time to figure some of this stuff out, and I still don't think I have it all.
