It's bad enough Public Contracts is squads of protostompers..but I get it. You gotta proto in FW..you Molon Labe. folks will never see me again there, when your nova knives are longer ranger than a fricking Dark Souls spear..
Done.
But, no, from FW I found out I am useless, no matter my role, because I don't buy AURUM suits, don't buy Veteran status, and just cannot decide on a role. No role "works" for me. Curse of games like these :(

FW is "mid-game content" in Dust 514. As such, you should be squadding up with the best fittings you can afford to run. Try to solo in FW and you will have a hard time. What FW were you trying to do? Every faction has channels to find squads in. Locate that channel, join it.
You were probably useless because you were alone. Lone mercs are basically wasted clones; easy pickings for cloaked up scouts and HMG sentinels.
Spending aurum had little to nothing to do with you losing. Your gun game may be poor or you were running a shitfit. What kind of fitting did you use?
Finally, NK range is 2.5m

On a serious note, of all the things you point fingers at it's NK range? It's like 2.5 meters (unrealistic? A bit. Broken? Not really) and peeps still have to be kissing your helmet to make sure both strikes connect.

Teamwork is nearly a must in FW.
I solo there just being as masochist and trying to figure out how to take on more organized squads by my lonesome. Though slowly learning.
Also run militia fits if you can keeps the costs low. Or be similar to me and use the isk from pubs to blow it out in fw in style.

EDIT: Ninja'd via Ripley
I was attacked beyond that range by a single dropsuit with NK's :( maybe it was lag..?
And that would be the only thing I COULD complain about. People got in their heads, complaints=witch=burn at stake..
And buying and spending AUR gives SP..which is 100% required..so yes, it mattered. Maybe not the most.
I just think I am done, or maybe need a break. THis game gets aggravating, just because of the "design" of it..
and join someone? No mic and it wil REMAIN THAT WAY. I should not have to spend money, period, on a "F2p" game. I'd sooner move on to another game worth time, than spend money on a mic. If you require microphones, forget it. I won't have one.
And none of this, "oh how do you expect to communicate with people"? screw it. SCREW IT..if it requires payment in any way shape or form to expect a baseline quality of play, it's not f2p..it's just not. comms devices are no exception.

If you are looking into Amarr and Caldari FW there is no reason why you cannot ask for help in channels like PIE Ground Control, Kirjuun Heiian, Z Platoon, and Amarr 1. There are usually players running squads , not necessarily Sync's, who are more than willing to take you on and help you get what you want out of the game.

Get in a squad, just listen to people who are on comms and your chances of survival increase sharply in FW. Even without comms you can see your squadmates' passive scans and you get bonus WP's for working towards the squad leader's orders.

(And someone posted as I'm posting this) No mic here either mate, it's at my girl's place and my other one is broken. Sticking with your greenies is more important than being able talk to them. Bonus sp via rank is what...10% for big time vets? That's 1 extra sp per 10 and maybe 200-300 more for staying the course for a whole match. Not exactly awe inspiring. Boosters on the other hand? More "problematic".
Seriously though, take a break and come back. It makes a world of difference. Go drop $2 and rent Destiny from Redbox and enjoy the soothing PvE and comparatively better balanced PvP for a bit.

Alright I'll explain a bit more. I did honestly fail to do this.
I wanted to get my feet wet. I wasn't being serious about that FW match. I queued for all four factions, and the team I got was pretty poor, all around. I was about middle in terms of WP..and our highest was 2k SP with 1 kill. Probably either booster(not enough proof to report, as I never saw another teammate except ONCE), or logi..which, to his credit, there were multiple spawn points.
If this is "mid game", been there done that. Publics were both harder and easier. This? Literal waste of time. Oh well. |

Patrols are a great idea IMO having the ability to donate LP to "Priority Nodes" both EVE and Dust 514 side to dictate specific systems for Patrol Conflict in will go a long way to reducing how often an organised squad goes against a Synced squad against a disorganised team as long as those soloists do not start Queing for those matches.
Moreover it lets people who actually care fight where they need to for the sake of EVE pilots.
However there is no reason to hinder the rate at which Synced teams can deploy to these kinds of battles. There is no reason to penalise in any respect team work and organisation skills because X number of players refuse to get their **** together. If a team then cannot Q against a Synced team following the "Priority Que" then there is no reason why that Synced team should not deploy to the match with no opposition in the same way a fleet might hold a plex EVE side with no enemy interaction.
My only concern with your suggestion is it somewhat shafts organised players and loyalists who want to go into a match and fight. If no other Sync is available who then do we fight?
Randoms in the same way as now?
No one?
Who?

also @OP Caldari has a bunch of newberries who don't know anything fighting for them, then you have the more 'trained' loyalists
Gallente has the FotM and the Tryhard corps move over to there for everyone to get FotM and win...
Amarr has a good side, but some Awoxers
Minmatar is okay, but seems to be slowly dying.
I ask that you aid the Caldari as we need the help when going against several Tryhard corps (Not going to single anyone out) Perhaps you should read up on the lore a bit if you want to chose a side without regret. (I was once Gallente, now I'm Caldari)

A small number are worth having but never as a main stay. One command of Cavalry gets into your lines, or your oppositions battle line nears yours and you are ******.
I'd rather have a few commands of Matchlock soldiers with arabesques out on the front lines or the flanks.

Funny, FW in EVE is for new players without much skills yet. It is for instant pvp. Don't know what happened with FW in DUST that it ended up being perceived to be for the leet vets. Oh well, same reason FW failed in EVE. It allows people to still exploit the system and destroy the original intent.
What can I sayGǪ CCP.
FW should be the place new players can go and be matched according to restrictions. Pubs can then be the place for meta free for alls. That way even with such a small player population, matchmaking restrictions would work. You either have better matches through exclusivity yet longer waits or worse matches via no restrictions and fast queues.
As it is you wait longer to be stomped more or wait less to be stomped more.
It'd be easier to control FW than to control pubs since pubs is perceived to be the go to mode for most players.

I do take issue with that somewhat. Many corps in EVE have made FW the primary zone/sphere of PvP for a very long time and consistently engage in relatively high levels/tiers of gameplay.
Personally I see no need to shoe horn FW into a newbie, or veterans game mode. It's simply a place where under the lawless banner of Low Sec space, within the bounds of certain mechanics, like Plexes and Missions players can earn LP and fight one another.
In EVE those mechanics allow for large groups to fly around in systems effectively laying claim to them, if you can't step up you ship out.
Consequently you also can flit around in FW respectably engaging in solo PvP or ratting, or mission running. I suppose in some respects this is where New Players earn their stripes.
Tricky thing is I can see no reason why players who wish to organise themselves and fight their way around the warzone looking for "Good Fights" should not be able to. At the same time I cannot argue a reason why individual players should be forced to when the Que Fight against squads.
EVE side it would be a matter of "Oh well I can't beat em I'll go somewhere else" an off you fly to find another quiet place, but in Dust players are under the impression they are entitled to something (I suppose than includes myself as well) and don't want to re-Que or find another place mainly because they cannot select of their own choice another place to go.
