reduce maximum squad size to 3 or 4 players and reduce orbital wp to 3000 (for 3 player squad) or 3800 ( for 4 player squad)
why?
-smaller squads can be split more evenly amongst teams.
-At times where less players are online its more likely that both teams will have squads.
-will stop orbitals from being one sided- 5000 is too hard for small squads to reach and is unfair to high M U solo players
-will make scouts passive scans less effective to the team
the current system is not working when few players are online, playing the same team 4-5 spawn camping matches in a row is not fun for either side ( and really change smart deploy to suicide deploy!) In an Ideal game everyones KDR would be close to 1 thats a balanced match and most fun for all.

Lower squad sizes means less friends to play with, which serves to detract from the social aspect of this game (one of it's few strengths over other FPSs).
It be much more practical (and beneficial) to simply include matchmaking in 1.9

it was only 6 because it was supposod to be 24 v 24
squad size of 4 makes more sense 16 v 16 - will allow pubs to be more fun / better gameplay/ better balance

better put I would prefer to see squads of 4 max only because its 16 vs 16 and as it stands if 3 squads try to deploy into one battle type you get the following one stacked team of 12 and a team of 6 with 10 blueberries numbers wise thats a team that is 75% competent vs a team thats 38% competent thats like playing with half a team. for the most part in the match making that is what I see 2 squads vs 1 and part squads/solo. currently I can only bring 6 to the table since we dont have team deploy.
@Atiim 18vs 18 would work too but as it stands the numbers don't make sense

again I can only bring six to a battle a squad filled with high sp beta players that gets stuck with 10 BB over and over that hide in the redline suicide or have 0 tactics. I would bring 16 If I could not trying to hurt the game trying to make more even matches

Absolutely not.
We used to have 4 man squads. We all hated 4 man squads. Eventually CCP listened to us and upped the numbers We were all grateful.

I understand your point about making games fit into a Squad's numbers exactly. That is entirely your OCD issue.
However, you could just ask that the match numbers fit into multiples of 6 (hello, 18, 24, 30?)
Reducing squad size is completely not required.
So, absolutely not. One of the worst ideas I have ever seen posted. No offense (although yes I realize that this is impolite and that you will probably take offense) but this is actually pretty horrible. |

We had in the beginning 4 man squads which was annoying as hell cause you could only play with 3 of your mates at a time. Thats why they changed it to 6 in the beta and to be honest it should stay like that.

Just toying around here, but if we can get FW to be a functional game-mode that actually pays for itself then we could restrict the maximum size of squads in pub-matches to 4, while leaving it at 6 or even raising it for every other mode.
This may become entirely unnecessary though if Rattati & Co. manage to implement a matchmaker that draws similarly capable players into a match.
I'd prefer the latter option, honestly. |

they used to be 4 man squads until CCP bumped them to 6 and tbh the fact that they didn't alter the team size to 18 baffles me. i'd expect that it'd also be part of the reason matchmaking is iffy too as there will always have to be searching for partial squads as well. its only 2 men a team extra but it'd be nice.
and personally in PC i'm a big believer of running 4man squads still as they're more flexible

Also when they changed it from 2500 to 5000wp for orbitals they were sure, as well as the community that it is what the game needed.

Besides, we already had sh*tty 4-man squads and we begged for larger squads, why on earth would we wanna go backwards?
I'd only ever wanna see smaller squads IF we could link them up for team deployment AND had a better comms system.
