If any of the dust devs are reading this I would like to point out that I was excited to read that the range on the supply depot was being increased as it would fix the issue of not being able to resupply my tank at all of the sockets in this game. I'm sorry to say this was not the case and I'm disappointed that this long standing issue has still not been noticed by yourselves in playtesting as it leads to some maps being asymmetrical in terms of being able to rearm ground vehicles. If you devs are still blind to which socket cant rearm tanks it is the one with the supply depot on the first floor. Here's hoping that you fix this very soon and not leave it to the next hotfix. Many thanks and a bluetag would be appreciated Ratatti or similarly capable dev.

oh dear lord of all people delboy i thought you would know how -_-
if it is on the buliding(s) with the curved walls ,get to the outside, ram the wall with the corner of your tank you will start to ride up it and you can resupply that way but don't go up to quick you may flip.
if it is in a conclave surrounded by the railing get to the u-shaped part (where infantry jump over to hack the depot) same principle but is very easy to get your tank stuck on the railing so i would just suggest calling and recalling.
the undrground depot i have seen a tank down there one time i'm still asking "how?" today
edit: i only run maddys idk if it possible with gunnlogi i'm willing to demonstrate if need be

Tried it, cant do it, I must suck. Not the point shouldn't have to do balls like this. These are the kind of things I'd like improved in the game. I noticed over the MCC event there were 3 separate threads in general that were on the subject off boosters and when and how to use them all of which had blue tags. It is completely clear what type of questions Ratatti and the like are mandated to answer and it isn't questions like mine. Keep buying boosters though kids you're keeping Ratatti in a job. Getting real tired of waiting on Legion, getting sick and tired of CCP failing to fix things that matter personally to me in this game.
Ratatti if I buy a booster would you fix my long list of tank related problems I have with this game please?

Totally agree. Its frustrating being in a vehicle and not even being able to get in a position to resupply at a depot.
I spoke with IWS about this, I mentioned if it was possible to change the mechanic of the supply depots to the mechanic of a nano hive. Supply depots apparently only affect a 2d area where as nano hives a 3d space.
If the supply depots were supplying out in 3 dimensions it would alleviate pretty much all of the problems that I can see.

I agree, I'm waiting on a dev for confirmation if this is possible to change and if they will do it. I am a bit worried though that if a dev has no intention of fixing a known issue they wont reply to it.

I'm just thinking, as an easy fix for Rattati, could he not just change one or two of the ground installations at the main bases on the problem maps into another supply depot?
That might be a bit easier to do back end perhaps.

Example location on Border Gulch 5, H. of an inaccessible supply depot for ground vehicles.
The home socket to the west of 5, H doesn't have a supply depot but the home point on the opposing side DOES have a supply depot.
Its the little things like this that lead me to suspect CCP didn't thoroughly playtest the maps. Here's hoping this helps you CCP.
Thanks, sadly we can't move depots as they are baked into the maps, and changing those requires a patch.
On another topic, you mentioned in another thread that Depots range did not increase. Is that verified. Because we changed one number, from 16m to 26m and it should certainly not have decreased.

Thanks for the reply dude. I don't remember saying the range has decreased but on a particular socket (9,D Impact ridge) has a sunken supply depot that is sometimes accessible (but mostly not and location specific) by going right up to the corner notch in the railings, I thought this depot would at least have been fixed by the range increase but was sad to see it was just as unpredictable as ever. Would it be possible to change the zone of influence of the depots from 2d to spherical 3d? That would fix all the supply depot problems at once. Thanks again for the reply. Not many full time tankers left in the game, and anything that aids us to provide timely infantry support is very much appreciated.
P.S. did you ever figure out why my tanks fall though the bottom of the map 80% of the time when I pull up the overhead map whilst parked in any socket? And is it fixable?

Is it possible to have a non baked depot drop in an accessible spot at say... 1 minute for each team?
The actual static depots may be baked in, but how about dropping "deployables" a la OMS?
Two depots per side in redline inaccessible to enemy AV doesn't seem unreasonable. |

Thanks for the reply. Socket overhang sinking is the falling through the map I'm assuming. Its a really annoying issue. I'm helping out on the point on say the Biomass facility and I hear an RDV near the enemy redline. Ideally I would just like to call up the map to see if I can see if there's any vehicles on there way to me but at the moment I gotta leave the team behind and leave the socket to check the overhead map or risk getting my backside molested by an enemy tank. Which is never fun. Here's hoping you guys have some luck with that issue. The tank AV balance is in a good challenging state atm imo, great work chaps.
P.S. one thing I would suggest is not nerfing ADS' any further. Because the player base has shrunken so low now, everybody uses the same tactics. 100% of the time maps devolve into who can get the spawn uplinks on tall builds above/near the point quickest (on Domination). All I see these days is AV spawning on top of buildings. And the ONLY way to remove them is with a dropship depending on the awereness/skill of the AVers up on a towers guarding the spawn pads they have every advantage in most maps to keep those pads guarded from the dropships that could destroy them which basically leads to constant one sided stomps. Which is all I see these days, and I play ALOT.
Anything your people could do to stop this one tactic from constantly being employed would drastically change the flow and feel of the games we all play way more than any weapon/suit balance ever could. Games are becoming so stale because of it. Thanks for listening.

Would it be possible to make nanohives resupply vehicles' ammo as well as infantry?
In Border Gulch, there is no depot which my squad has been able to use if driving in a gunlogi due to them being on the first floor.
Why can't nanohives be used? If they can be altered to work for vehicles, would that not be a good stop-gap until a patch can be done to sort the problem with the supply depot? |

You only buffed horizontal range but not vertical supply range. Like for a example if a supply depot is on a building tanks and LAV's cannot reach it to get ammo for their turrets. And on some maps thats really crucial for vehicles. For example domination on Border gulch the only supply depot for the defenders is at H5. Unfortunately that supply depot is on top of a building and unreachable for all vehicles except dropships. Its even worse cause when the enemy decides to blow it up there is no real safe way to resupply vehicle ammo on the map cause there is no supply depot in the redline (attackers have 1 but defenders dont). Alot of times the only safe way to get new ammo for your vehicle is to drive into the redline, call in a new 1 and recall your old vehicle in the progress.

Hehe. After realising that the opposite team would be left with nowhere to resupply, my squad will always blow up supply depots. It reduces tank spam from the other side, so all we need to worry about is AV :3
Actually, we blow up every supply depot we can't access in protest of their unaccessibility. (Helps stop AV too, since nobody can change suits in the middle of battle, or restock nanohives. Speaking of which, there is always less lag when we take out supply depots because there is less nanohive/uplink spam. |

CCP Rattati and the Dust Dev team are not in charge of the resources upper management assigns to them nor what they can or cannot do with said resources. It is not in any way "lazy" to lack the proper means to do a thing, in this case the resources to do client patches are not present, that does not equate to the team (especially guys like Ratatti and LogiBro) not working hard. I have lost count of the number of times when one or both of them has spent time working to improve Dust even during weekends or vacations during my term as CPM (which hasn't really been all that long yet).
I know it is a raw deal for we players, I have issues I brought to light in closed beta with remain unresolved and that's frustrating, but demands that the Devs do what they have no option to do at this point, or directly denigrating remarks towards them, neither changes the situation nor makes them able to work any harder than they already are.

From my experience, some supply depots have the longer range, and some don't. I do not know the map names well, but I notice all the supply depots with the longer range are in domination, the one that springs into mind is the domination where the point is in a crate with a tabletop above it and two turtlebacks to the north.
I will also note that it resupplies infantry at the extended distance, but vehicles still have to hug it to get supplied.

if it is on the buliding(s) with the curved walls ,get to the outside, ram the wall with the corner of your tank you will start to ride up it and you can resupply that way but don't go up to quick you may flip.
if it is in a conclave surrounded by the railing get to the u-shaped part (where infantry jump over to hack the depot) same principle but is very easy to get your tank stuck on the railing so i would just suggest calling and recalling.
the undrground depot i have seen a tank down there one time i'm still asking "how?" today
edit: i only run maddys idk if it possible with gunnlogi i'm willing to demonstrate if need be Been there, done that. A few months back I got a wild idea. I was then able to put any tank inside A on the Gallente research facility. A few of you have seen me do this. I can put tanks anywhere....

Nobody believes me when I tell them that tanks can get in there, but I've seen it done! |

On another topic, you mentioned in another thread that Depots range did not increase. Is that verified. Because we changed one number, from 16m to 26m and it should certainly not have decreased. It's exactly the same as pre Delta^^ maybe this wasn't the good variable to change!
Sorry for my bad english.
