Dude, really? Burst HMG got a double nerf? Increased heat buildup AND damage decrease? Can we at least get a decrease in recovery time on the inevitable overheat? Just running fast numbers, we get 5 rapid bursts instead of 6, so the overall damage nerf is as much as 25% decrease. Was that really 'needed'? |

I'm bringing up the issue now because modded controllers were the main reason why it had it's ROF cut down. Even with a decreased ROF, a modded controller still turns it into an automatic rifle with almost no kick back and an extremely high dps. a change to ROF doesn't change the fact that in the hands of someone with a modded controller it is extremely powerful.
I love the gun, I'm trying to make sure it doesn't get it's DPS cut just because changing the ROF did nothing to get rid of the modded controllers. If you changed the heat build up to per shot, pumping out 600rpm with a modded controller is going to blow up on you a hell of a lot faster then someone using it with a regular controller, who is not putting out that ROF every time they shoot.
Right now, the heat build up system has the same amount of build up when using the rifle to fire 3 round bursts, and using it to fire as fast as you can. The system they have in place is great for automatic weapons (HMG and blaster) and consistent weapons (Laser rifle), but it doesn't not work for a semi auto rifle.
So before you start throwing insults and assuming I'm just ranting because you think I hate the SCR, play the game, run into a modded controller and tell me then that changing the ROF did anything to get rid of the cheaters. |

If you read my comment earlier on the forum, you'd also see that I'm actually ok with the ROF at 600, I can still perform well with it, so the cut was not over extreme as many people were trying to say it was.

I will have to see for myself I suppose what all of this balancing rifles is. I mean the CR got nerfed 3 times already and I noticed it is more efficient as a armor damaging weapon (which I understand of course), but why the SMG? Especially why the AS SMG? Was it not balanced? If not why not buff the other sidearms to have equal performance? People spend most if not all of their time maxing out the capabilities of their weapons and you take that away? Makes me question if there was any rationalizing at all here. Are the developers calling the shots or are the players? Who made the game? Think about it. |

I have SP to spend after the event but I hesitate as I don't want to spend it where 'little' adjustments are already targeted, making my hoped for improvements primed for a 25% gutting. Not just in Echo, but longer term.

You do realize that 400m is still over enough to sit in your redline and effectively fire into objectives on most maps? there was literally no point in it having 600m before. Hell on most maps I can sit in the redline and be within 200m of objectives. It seriously is only a slight reduction when you think about how some maps from redline to redline is maybe 500-600m.

Also kin cats are the new armor plates. You shoot a speed demon (while they are running) and they take no damage just like the closed beta scouts of old.
Man I miss Charlie's hit detection.

Isn't that more an issue with redlining and map design? If the maps were larger (they stretch for 1000's of meters) it would help. So CCP could just move everything back so the "redline" is 500 or 600 meters from the objective on all sides. Redline sniping eliminated or completely ineffective being so far away from the main reason to have a sniper (objective overwatch). This will also increase the necessity for clone spawn points and uplinks. Logi's will be desired again because without either clone spawnpoints or drop uplinks in various strategic locations, people are going to have to hike/ride/fly/drive hundreds of meters to get back to the objective.

For the record, though, I only run the 2x kincat fit in niche situations. Damps are too important, so I'm usually 2x damp 1x kincat or 1x codebreaker.

I cover out to the 600m to deter someone trying to get to it, longest kill was almost 596m headshot in Bravo and 585m finishing shot in Charley. I prefer to stay above 4.0 being Dust is my first shooter, GT(1=6) 15y vet, and I do not believe you should be able to fit a light main gun to a heavy suit. That is like using a 155 Howie instead of pepper spay for crowd control or redline sniping in a Heavy. The ones I hate is the Cloaked Shoot guns, sneaky little bastards.

I love the new reticle for the charge sniper. Having no trouble with the range since I'm usually within 300m. Its also nice that the headshot bonus is 300% now I feel headshots are actually rewarding

When every country on this not as advanced as Eve universe is increasing sniper rifle ranges. In this less technological real world, snipers are making kills of over a kilometer, easily. With over a mile becoming quite frequent. I thought the Eve universe was supposed to be more advanced? And everything you alcohol swilling douche-wagons are doing is contrary to an advanced society. 300m???? |

Now, using a sniper rifle will require you to make risk and enter deeper into the battlefield to actually contribute to your team. The headshot damage multiplier is now 300%, so you should be grateful. You don't even realize how generous this buff is. Lastly, it's 400m, not 300m.
