With the most recent series of balance passes every single suit in the game has had it's tankability increased, and the grenade generation capacity on nanohives reduced.
I believe it is time to bring grenade carrying capacity back up to the pre-nerf levels.
For assault suits.
Please add +1 to assault grenade counts to go with the grenade fitting reduction. They need them to have additional sentinel hardpoint and logi chain breaking capacity.
Further, please bring back the 2s fuse. Sentinels have a 25% splash resistance and escaping nade blasts is easy even in a fatsuit if you pay attention.
Assaults currently have additional tanking capacity so it should be unlikely that even a core locus or thukker impact grenade will kill a properly fitted assault on contact.
STD and militia fits will probably get railed tho. |

And there is no way I am equiping a Contact that nade that is equal cost of Core Locus with 1/3 of the DMG It makes no sense!!!
- either reduce Contact nade to ADV locus fitting cost
OR
- give us back 2 Contact nades.
And to be fair, the assaults could use that extra nade though it puts is back in OHK all the n00bs :/

Logistics has received 0 buffs to survivability. All they've ever received were nerfs.
More requests asking to OHK the most expensive suit to play as in this game,the logistics. Yes,it's ok for the cheaper more durable assault to survive a Core locus,but screw that logistics whose suit cost 2x as much as yours to run,with less than half your eHP and speed.
OHK ruins games,look at destiny. -5 for lack of consideration for logistics.

Actually, no. I'm not a logi hater. Unless they're red dots. In which case they're priority targets. Kill the healer first. And I started DUST in beta as a logi. I find the role to be hilariously amusing. I also run Logi as my primary fleet fit in EVE. I just don't do it now because I like watching vehicles burn.
Did i mention I'm not skilled into assaults either? I'm a sentinel, which means I'm usually the guy being REPPED by the good logis. You're not counted among them.

I actually wouldn't benefit at all from this proposed change. I have all four sentinels at 5, all four commandos at 3, and not a point anywhere else.
Since the change wouldn't affect my sentinel... and my Commando doesn't have grenades to begin with...
How is this "waah but i needs mai grenades?" I have a goddamn HMG to plug people with, and it's MUCH better at slashing Logis up like the first hot chick you see in a horror movie. |

More nades for contact variations, yes but no to others. Contacts are gimped enough damage-wise.
They might've been useful in countering the scout swarm of last spring-summer, but having only one was too big of a disincentive for most.
People would enjoy Dust a lot more if they accepted the fact that EVERYTHING is subject to change

I disagree. While lesser variants were indeed damage nerfed, the Core Locus is still a brutal killer with considerable range. The most powerful nade sets the benchmarking level.
Not long ago 'stop nade spam' threads were abundant.
People would enjoy Dust a lot more if they accepted the fact that EVERYTHING is subject to change

In the future there will be modules introduced to boost equipment efficiency. Logistics must use all of its slots to compensate its horrendously low eHP.
When those modules are introduced,they won't be worth running because i'll die easier.
You mock logistics 'fitting potential'. If logistics tries to speed tank,which is stupid,scouts and assaults can still chase them down. If logistics tries to shield tank,same as above but add in heavies. If logistics tries to armor tank, same as above.
No other suit has such insane drawbacks.
Literally every suit in Dust can perfectly counter their weakness,except logistics. Logistics is slow with low eHP and bad regen,it can't try to compensate for one without making the other two worse.
Scouts can tank eHP with no loss of speed. Heavies can use kincats + a burst HMG with no loss of tank Assaults can do whatever with no loss of anything. Logistics is screwed.If they tank,they're too slow to keep up with the group,if they speed tank their regen can't compensate their low eHP,oh and they cost more... How much more? ADV equipment equals an ADV light weapon alone. Not a sidearm,a full light weapon.
What if assaults had to pay ADV light weapon costs for a sidearm?They,just like most logistics would go broke. Pro equipment is even worse,it's MORE expensive than a Pro light weapon.
But yes,now knowing these facts keep advocating for OHKs on logistics with grenade spam.
Also,idc about a neckbeard group in a game so you can tell the "goons" to go screw themselves. You don't want to mess with someone from the Deep Web bro,just saying your writing a check your ass can't cash.

Back on topic.
I didn't include logistics in my considerations because I firmly believe Logis should be using their squad as their primary HP buffer and incoming bullet stoppers.
I don't believe the game should be balanced around lone wolf anything.
But with the boosts all suits have received after chromosome (the dayof the terror nades, which I thought was awesome) the current grenades shouldn't be able to oneshot most suits any more if they fit proper tanks. |

Nyain San used to throw so many grenades it was like each one of them had underslung Mass Drivers on their Assault Rifles. They became so good at cooking them that we started to call them squads of chefs.
If it is only a +1 grenade role bonus on Assault suits, though, it shouldn't be too bad.

I totally agree with everything you have said so far, with the exception of what you just stated about logi's using their squads as hp buffers.
Any compotent opponent will target the logi first, as it is the easiest to kill and the most powerful if left alive. I can't count the number of times I have had someone ignore my squadmates (usually dieing in the process) just to kill me.
But I am totally on board with increasing grenade count back to three.
1 year veteran. Over 200 times restarted.
I have once had an advanced fitting.... Once....
CaLogi. Ex-everything else.

As long as grenade hit detetections wont be fixed, changing anything in the grenades stats will be useless. 2/3 times I throw a Core Grenade right in the feets on some guys, and they dont lose A SINGLE HP! This got me turned off the Ps3 for the first time when it happened 6 times in a row in the same game. Please CCP, fix this BIG issue before changing anything to grenades. (I am an assault player btw^^)

I think we should start with the assault class. If it turns out to not be obnoxious put it to all logi and medium frames.
Sentinels and scouts already have their own special snowflake superpowers that are quite functional while forgetting you have nades in your pocket.
Oh an amendment.
I advocate fuse changes on locus only. Flux are pretty much a win button on shields. Instantly making cal suits screwed should not be made easier. |
