The Valor was a scout suit. Most didn't need to buy it because most bought the merc pac that came with the Dragon Fly at the time. I got the Raven (Assault) and Sever (Logistics) but no need for the Valor.

BPOs for all standard racial/class variants please. As others have mentioned, Raven pattern for Caldari suits, Sever for Minmatar and Valor for Gallente would be a great place to start.
Alternately, if that's too much work for your art department, release the base textures as something we can edit in photoshop/Gimp/editing software of choice, and let us come up with stuff. You could make it a contest; most popular user made skin for each dropsuit gets into the game as an aurum BPO.
I'm sure there are more than one layer of texture for each suit, but we would really only need the primary texture and perhaps glow maps (eye colors) to work with. Giving us access to all the variations would help give us more material to start with, and releasing the 3D models so we can see them applied to suits would be outright awesome.

BPOs for STANDARD level gear... not everything. PC isk farmers and proto stompers may buy these to look cool in the warbarge, but people who make use of these will be the ones who favor isk efficiency over combat effectiveness.

Ya know how this looks like? Like if CCP is trying to squeeze as much money out of dust before they shut it down. And the only way to get a rather large sum is by adding BPO's back into the market. Long term investment would be to get people to continuesly buy single run suits, weapons, vehicles, etc. But if you could charge something like 15.000 AUR for a single suit that is a unlimited run then you make much more.
So the plan changed like this:
-scratch the original concept of the game cause it will be shut down within 6 months-1year
-motivate the community by adding something "old fashioned" and get them to buy overpriced BPO sets
There is no longterm plan for the game anymore which was clear as crystal at the fanfest. They dont tell exactly when they shut down dust cause that would be bad for the consumer morale. I know it cause the army does something similar with recruits in a bootcamp. If they go on a long march and some of the recruits are asking "how far is it sir?" then the answer is "we are there soon". That is a lie to keep motivating your people otherwise they might give up if the goal is too far away.
So what do we learn about this? CCP is opening the box of pandora and doesnt gives a damn cause they are way beyond the point of return and are curious if there is still something in there except illness and a desaster.
They say when you die you see a white light which then forms the line of:
"GAME OVER! PLEASE INSERT COIN"

That's a great point and completely puts to rest concerns about buying an expensive perminant item in a game where the only long term plan the Devs have openly stated on is that they're working on something else.
We can have no real confidence that the item in question will even exist for >6 months or be meaningfully transferrable to the other game.
Do you at least see WHY this would come across as a cash grab to players?
"Change of plans" seems like "aurum sales are down and funding is needed for Legion."
Wether that statement is true or not, the alternative; that CCP is going to start releasing real content for Dust again and which you and Xel are suggesting, would be covered by NDA.
The last time we got teasing "stuffs coming but shhh NDA" statements from CPMs we got Fan Fest. So we're a little gun shy.

I have the Valor. I rushed in getting the Vet Pack before BPOs were removed from the market so i could use the AUR to buy it. I did use that suit a lot! Now it's my pilot suit. |
