Disagree. I think the installation buff adds another layer to map tactics, and needed to be done.

I know where all the turrets are and i know when they drop, its just repetitive. Its not even fun killing the damn things. |

Normally I would agree with you, but the fact that they're in the redline as well kind of ticks me off. This kind of turret setup encourages camping the redline and not doing anything for your team. Other than that, I agree with you.

I am with Darth on this. The turrets were too squishy before, in a python you could sneeze at em and they are gone. It gives the infantry a longer break from getting bombed on when I need to take out an installation too. Overall it is a good thing.

Usually I'm in a skirm, or dom, they still have links out, and can easily try to push the objective instead of planting themselves on it. Sometimes they start off the match on the turret, not even bothering to help in the initial push.

Yes but why make the other turrets just as strong if the whole point was to stop redlining? Now its made vehicles terrible, especially tanks because anyone can just hack a turret and party.A turret 1v1 a tank will almost always win. I mean why invest millions of sp to get beat by a free installation. |

I have seen an increased amount of reds try n shoot at me with their redline turrets the whole game, out of range, but they are persistent, and useless. Maybe a remedy for this could be Non player controlled redline installations. Just a thought

It would be nice if the tanker turret skills had an effect on stationary turrets.

Thatd be nice but not the point turrets are ruining vehicle gameplay right now. If ccp can cut their hp back, but exclude the redline turrets from any changes. |

Why skill into tanks when you can get the strongest tank for free ,an installation. Do you see its replacing our intended role. Also im rarely getting into vehicle vs vehicle fights anymore its all vehicle vs AI. |

Your argument is invalid due to your skewed logic. If an installation does a better job than you in a tank, you're doing it wrong.

Somewhat agreed with OP. Before Charlie I could take out a turret with one clip from my XT's; now it takes two clips which is cool and all. The most annoying issue is taking out the redline rail turrets while a missile turret is constantly firing at me and completely rocking my ship from side to side.

A stationary target creates a problem for a vehicle that can move in any direction and quickly out of range? Yeah, I think you're your problem.

With 1 gunner and 2 small rails on my incubus (front+sidegun) i need like 2 strafing runs to kill the new turrets.

So now people can sit in the redline and railgun 300M out of it while being almost indestructible. 12000 HP turret requires 25+ prototype XT-1 missiles to blow up. That is over 25% of ammo on the python. Using a incubus, It is impossible to kill redline turrets because the thing shoots so freking slow unless you want to spend over half the game trying to take out one turret.

No. They allow red berries to control a lot of the map. I don't know if you know this but 300m railgun on some domination maps cover the objective. And on other covers 1/3 of the map. 300m for a redline turret is too much especially one as powerful as the railgun.

You mean a redberry in a squishy little drop suit that cant move at all and is standing exposed on all but one side while using the turret?
I mean seriously its "waaah waaah waaah an installation shot down my toy" even though the person manning it is a sitting duck to a decent shot |

Think about how LAV's and HAV's feel ???
At least you can fly away .
You don't have NK scouts jumping out from the four corners .. on you .
Air ships have it so easy compared to ground vehicles that pilots really should have no complaints in that area of the game .
You would think that CCP would have given the infantry refund that should have been in 1.8.

I would say that they should cut the range of them as well if that wasn't the case .
Again , no room to complain .

I agree with both of you, and Mr. action on his point about knowing exactly where all the turrets are. We need far less things encouraging redline play, and more things encouraging fighting for the objective.

Zatara Rought wrote:Redline turrets prevent you camping the enemy stuck in their own redline by using them, no? To a degree yeah, rail or missile tanks will take those things out in no time at all. Dropships have no place in ashlands before someone takes out the redline turrets because players camping in those deny the whole map for dropships. Some redline turrets are completely pointless (because they cannot reach out of the redline), the only purpose they serve is to deny killing other redline turrets with dropships.
I'd say move the blaster installations near to the edge of the redline, so they serve a purpose and they can also be destroyed, and move missile and rail installations out of the redline because those are just OP inside the redline.
Well, that's just how I see things but others might disagree with me (infantry) because they are either never or very rarely a victim of these free turrets.
I dunno what infantry would think if there were free AI turrets on the field. And that they would be incredibly though for infantry to take out (think 1000 shields 5000 armor (your AI weaponry will work just like it works against dropsuits, SL wont work)). My guess is there would be lots of tears.

You must spend all your time in a vehicle, blaster turrets would (Still do? I always approach from a different angle now) fire on infantry and turn you into swiss cheese if you werent careful But most infantry players would just not stand in front of it and hack the damn thing so we wouldnt get shot up but I guess vehicle players cant handle simple concepts |
