now there is. i don't get the option to use a shield extender on the Amarr anymore, which saved me from cheap deaths to basic remotes
i don't have the option to even play as my heavy anymore without spending all my SP on ******* fitting optimization skills even though I have electronics and engineering to level 5
taking a slot away and nerfing PG/CPU into the ground is just too much for me. I'm angry and I doubt I will continue to play this game anymore
I pretty much have dumped at least 20 of my 30 million sp into heavies and now I will have to dump an additional 2-4 million into FITTING OPTIMIZATION?
 i was fine with it until i saw we're not getting the extra low slot they promised. ******* unreal...

Id like a respec for my gallente sentinel, i chose it specifically for the lows. If i wanted the amaar i would of kept my amaar. Come on ive been talking to people and they agree with me the slot change is uneccesary. |

It's not enough. You can't tell me an extra 3 CPU and 24 CPU can offset 100 CPU and 20 PG nerf. Even with one of our slots being taken away.

I might as well just squeeze what little remaining fun there is to be had in this game out of the Gallente Assault. At least then I can use the 2 mil I spent on ARs which was also wasted because it will obviously be the UP assault suit.
I'm sick and tired of being short handed by CCP and that's all there is too it.
At least I'm here, making a thread about leaving, months after fanfest when half the veteran players had already left.

Actually now that I take a deep look into it, the heavy nerf is a bit HEAVY. Well actually it is discouraging and sad to think about. I mourn your loss, for it is a loss on my gallente heavy as well. Good thing I was smart in investing in a little bit of everything, I can only imagine the pure sadness, and turmoil going on in the minds of those specialists who have had their suits nerfed to the ground. I can only feel a mere percentage of the that emotion, a percentage that is nullified by another suit of mine being buffed.
I am truly sorry for your loss, but mostly my loss.

From what I've been hearing it should not affect regular heavies as much as heavies who use Light weapons.

Yes but most people chose gallente or the amaar sentinel because of the slot layout.Its like switching the cal and gal slot layout and saying, "deal with it op fotm chaser." Been a heavy since day 1 no just no. |

The Sentinel CPU/PG reduction is just plain ********. Non-heavies complained that heavies had plenty of CPU/PG to fit all Proto and Complex gear. Well no sh*t. We have no equipment slots and less module slots so of course we can fit all Proto and Complex gear in the slots we do have. The other suits could do the same. Don't use any equipment, leave a module slot open and I'll bet you can run all Proto and Complex gear in the remaining slots. There wasn't any need to cry to CCP about it. |

I find this a somewhat ridiculous argument. Sentinels have high eHP balanced against no equipment slots. Non-heavies who have equipment slots have lower eHP. What you say may be true about fitting capacity for Adv. or proto gear, but it does not equalize eHP and it undermines the role of the other suits.

That OP suit you enjoy so much causes a lot of frustration for others, so some nerfing seems appropriate to me. Of course no one likes their OPness to be nerfed, but it's better in the long run for the community.
I'm a Swarmer, no one knows nerfs better than me. And I also have weapon fitting optimization to 5 in Swarms and 4 I think in the CR, so why should Heavies be excused from having to skill into these to maximize their suits?
While they Heavy changes may be a hard pill to swallow (I also have an Adv. Sentinel, BTW), I would like to play with the changes before rushing to judgment.

I run Commando quite a bit, so proto Assault Rifle and proto Plasma Cannon, trained both to 5 with proficiency and fitting optimization. Do you know why you don't see me crying? Because I understand that's part of the role.
Shall I do the math for you on how much SP is required to get 4 equipment for proto? See how the Logi's feel? Or will you continue on your self pity?
EDIT: 3.7 million SP for Uplink, Nanohive, Repair Tool, and Scanner. How much equipment do you have to train for as a heavy? |

I don't agree with OP's post at all. Needing to skill into something more is not a problem. If you didn't have to skill into something still you would leave this game because there was nothing left to achieve.
However, while I too want to wait to see the outcome of these changes, I also can't help but feel the (unmentioned changes so far) of reduced range + buildup heat is too much at once. CCP has been notorious about these multiple tweaks that squish a role into a pancake.
SL needed a nerf. As a proto user for well over a year, they were actually in a great place this last patch. I'm uncertain but not super disappointed about their changes in these notes now.
I don't get all this heavy hate on the forums. Heavies were not hard to kill. They are constantly engaged in their area of expertise head on and people are crying about it left and right. I can't tell you how many heavies I've killed at range where their cone couldn't reach me, and I'm not even a good shot.

How is a assault fine with 1 light weapon dumbass, you need that FG to AV. We need SL to do that. So that makes 2 light weapons minimum, just like you need your 2 heavy weapons to play your roles. Also we need uplinks or hives or needle etc. to play our role. Fitting a sentinel is easier than fitting a assault. You know it, but can't admit it. That is sickening.
I respect every role, but you sir are bad reflection on the heavy community. |

when you can fully proto fit a militia suit and still have pg/cpu left over even with average skills then somehting needs to be done.
now it'll take a few extra fittign skills to fit a heavy out not just fully proto it and run around laughing. no other suits can have a fully proto fit and still have 1500+ hp and deal a great amount of damage.
the suits are getting nicely balanced for once in terms of slots and pg/cpu and the new amarr slot layout will bring a crazy scary amount of armor hp to the suit. its gonna be a fun old time whenever HFC drops

Granted this is calced from ProtoFits.com, so the SP investment might be a little rough.
The addition of a second heavy weapon Operation/Proficiency/Fitting optimization is roughly 4 million right? And you've got Nano/Repair/Uplink/Scan at about 1 million each for the Logi. roughly speaking, the second heavy weapon is similar to the investment of the equipment. So his claim that "ERMERGERD I've invest WAAAAY more in Sentinels than I have Logis" is simply inaccurate. Can it be more? Yes, but the difference is not significant. In fact he's complaining that he doesn't want to train Optimization, meaning that he probably hasn't much much into it, which drops his to-date cost of training Sentinels even more. |

Oh and btw you can still fit full proto with everything maxed. OP you're acting like they ruined your suit while all they did is force you to make decisions (like everyone else) and push heavies to use heavy weapons.

The heavy suit needed to be nerfed regarding fitting but I think the changes are too large. A Proto Amarr will be far below what an ADV one is now. If you compare the fitting ease to that of a scout not usung a cloak you will see that, currently, fitting ease is similar, yet heavies get bashed with the nerf bat.
Weapon fitting bonus make a tiny difference but not much. I'll wait and see how this works out, it won't kill me to give up heavy even though forge is what I play. I'll switch to swarms, which also got nerfed.
Because, that's why.
