CCP, when are you going to nerf the unkillable dropships? You know the ones who run their hardeners nonstop and just camp on hostile spawn point and fire away with impunity.
These are the ones you can't even scare away with proto A/V weapns, they don't even bother to fly away.
Oh wait, you're going to make them cheaper to encourage more of them?
I never understood the strong bias for vehicles in this game, making the completely OP vs. the weapons specifically designed to counter them. It's as if a shotgun did no damage to a Heavy. Or a HMG did no damage to a Scout. Why are vehicles so unbalanced vs. infantry?

In it's current state, it removes the risk involved in piloting ADSs.

ADS's AB'ing away is one issue though to achieve a permaharden python you would have to run 3 shield hardeners and at only 40% that's what 3 IAFG shots maybe 4 if it's not moving it's not in the air for long. also dont hate the player for camping hate the game.. for two+ ******* years we've btched and moaned for vehicle locks so we could land dropship and do something besides camp but CCP can't implement a real vehicle lock so we camp instead.

My basic forge gun can scare away a dropship easily enough... (Just not kill it without help) Why can't you do so with proto? If you're having that much trouble with them, just order another dropship and ram whatever ails you!

You can keep up high speed and altitude nonstop, but you aren't going to do any damage that way. It's like redline sniping with a militia sniper rifle.

This Minmando fit will do 1,800 damage per volley, or 230 against two shield hardeners. This totals a pythons shield in 6 volleys. This fit has a 60 second down time, and a loght booster. Against 2 armour hardeners it does 777 which requires 5 volleys to total complelty, their is a light repper and has a greater than 1 minuete down time.

The python maybe considered harder to kill, but the lack of passive repair and the lack of an afterburner make it an easy target to the above suit.

4 seconds is a long time to get out of dodge when just 1 more hit will kill you. Something I notice a lot as a pilot, when people think I havean afterburner on ( I don't I just move real good) they stop firing, it's not worth the trouble to them, 1 more hit and I'm dead, but they don't even try.

The only unkillable dropships are the ones that do not take part in the battle (at least for very long). If you manage to keep a dropship away from the fight, whether it's killed or not you've basically beaten it. You don't have to kill it to win, just take it out of the fight. |

(That's not to say that Pilots shouldn't be using evasive maneuvers to evade fire, however).
Though when you consider the charge time of a Forge Gun (3s at Operation V), that only gives a 1s window of opportunity to have the final shot connect, which is not a long time by any standards.
And on that day, that very day, not a single Pilot lived...

Not a bad fit, but you shouldn't be using a RR on a Matari Commando.
If you put a CR on there instead, you'd have an even stronger weapon (due to the bonus), and you'd free enough CPU/PG for an X-3 Quantum Nanohive, as opposed to a basic.

Exactly you may not kill it but one proto forge gun can deny a dropship and help with other vehicles/beam infantry while the dropship is hiding in the clouds repping.
You may not kill them but if they aren't harrassing your team you've done good. The game isn't all about WP and teh killz. |

Efficiency Range, the Dropship has to be pretty low to the ground for that Blaster to matter. |

Nothing stays put when I'm shooting my damage modded profficiencied IAFG, especially if the pilot is so stupid as to hover and let me hit the dropship engines for ridiculous bonus damage, hardeners be damned.
