I've played 46 Domination games in the last two days (I kept track), and all of the matches--I do mean "ALL"--were one-sided proto stomps. What gives? Do players actually enjoy running Caldari Scouts and Heavies that much?
Is it fun to camp the only opposing spawn uplink with 6+ Heavies and various shotgun Scouts? Are they competing to see who can get the best record or something? What about redlining? Is bombarding the enemy redline with orbitals that satisfying?
What are these players trying to achieve? Why are they trying so hard to win? It's understanable if the opposing team had an equally skilled set of players or squads, but no. These stompers want to give their all against groups of NPC corp randoms and solo players.
I don't get it. |

The better question is whats with all the not putting up a fight and hideing in the redline snipping like fools. see stomps happen for two reasons yes one is cause threre is squads of PC corps proto stomping but all so you have to look at the team getting stomped to why are they no where near the letter why are they running around trying to hipfire a sniper rifle why are they calling in 6 tanks to drive around and not hack anything why do they not put down uplinks why does that freaking guy who is 2-24 keep ******* spawning in so you get cloned out?

I don't get it. Ive found that all the stompers moved to domination after tanks got removed from ambush and people started quitting, so I started playing skirm and recently ambush and its much better.

Very true ambush has become a much more inviting arena without all the tank spam. Also for some reason that I am not sure yet I am having a lot more 1v1s there now to not sure why that is but I like it better.
But don't get me wrong you still find stompers but they tend to be a lot easier to deal with as long as not so smart deploy doesn't really screw you. |

There are two types of people still playing Dust:
1.) Players not good enough to have fun at other FPS, or are too attached to their precious SP advantage to move to a game where they might have to fight relatively fair.
2.) New players who don't know dust is dead, and are trying to get some F2P action.
Group 1 murders group 2 because they couldn't do it anywhere else, so they go hard in Dust.
Real AV doesn't stop until all the tanks are dead.

You sound like someone who has never been on the receiving end of a stomp. Otherwise you would damn well know how effective a Militia AR is against a proto suit that has extra damage output and extra defensive power. You would know that being able to just melt the sheilds off one of these guys is a herculean task. Then you have to factor in the fact that there will be 6 of them together. Of course people are going to retreat and snipe when in a situation like that!

No, stomps happen for 1 reason. A corp full of proto players sends squads to go and fight new players in Public Contracts. It hurts player retention and stunts community growth. All those things you named are the results of players doing frantic things just to survive.
They have tried to hack letters, only for a invisible scout to back**** them. They hipfire the sniper rifle cause they decided to come out of the redline and someone else advanced on them, salivating for a easy kill. (someone who will likely complain about red line snipers down the road). They call in and drive around tanks cause thats their only chance to finish the game in the black instead of in the red.

Because if he camps out the rest of the game in the MCC all the "vets" will come here and throw temper tantrums about "AFK players" and "cowards who refuse to fight" and such. |

Let me enlighten you. Most 'stompers' are 'vet'. They have a pocket full of quarters with no candy to buy. They feel if they don't spend all those quarters, someone will steal them(CCP). I have been stomping since 'end of world announcment'. I have been making MORE ISKIES then ever before. There is just something about killing 50 mercs in one match. Go big or go home! Pretty much what he said... Most smurfs nowadays just overspawn and or sit back in the redline camping with snipers, or just sit back so they get free money while the few of us doing any work are losing their money for them...
At least in MAG if someone was stupid to sit back or overspawn and rush, I could see where the shots come from to get the shooter(s)... |

its sad that you enjoy it, there is NO challenge or skill to running a proto sqaud in pubs. all your doing is padding your ego because you suck to much to do anything else. Try running frontline again, or better yet try starting a fresh alt without the SP and see how good you are..... see how much fun it is to have 3 proto boundless heavies come after you......

Domination has turned to crap since Hotfix Bravo. I recently played a match that had two organized squads from Outer.Heaven/Inner Hell and Molon Labe. The turn out was awful, but the sad thing is that my team actually tried to fight.
I was the primary Uplink user in that game and I gained well over 1000 WP from my team of blueberries as they constantly spawned in and tried to fight for the objective. However, that match was nothing compared to the Nyain San, Gods Among Men, and SAIUKI game I played. By the time the match ended, our team was down to 12 clones and the other was at 140.
Blues weren't even sniping. They were all on the front-lines, trying to put up a fight. It was both sad and frustrating. |

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet, matchmaking.
We all know it sucks and it is the main reason stomps happen. Countless times I join a match and have 2 or 3 squads against randoms. Simply making it so squads are placed on opposing teams would alleviate most of the problems.
Bringing back the pre-match warbage would help too, allowing randoms time to squad up. Sadly 2 minutes (2 measly ******* minutes!) was too long for people to wait, so they removed it. |

^ Here is proof of what ive been saying.
A few people in this thread blame the "blues" and name a bunch of things, like redline sniping, as examples that cause people to lose games.
It dosent matter what the "blues" do. Cause even when they adopt your favorite style of run and gun, it still yields the same results. One side has vastly superior weapons, experience, and tactics.
On a side note, thats kind of why I enjoy Factional. Im always up against better players, equipment, and tactics, but theres also people on my team with better stuff too, so the battle is always turning tides. Problem is its a ISK sink, and I cant use Prox mines against tanks cause some clown on my team will suicide on them and get me tossed from the game. |

Also add in tank/ads spam, with most lower sp blues can't even make one do anything other than laugh, then they get redlined with no way out. We've ALL been on both sides of this.
On the receiving end, it's one of the most frustrating things in the game. On the other side, it can be one of the most boring things ever unless you're in the proto death squad because they kill everything.

They know full well that they are the problem, and quite frankly, they don't give a dam. Proto stompers don't care about what people think or feel, there only out for themselves. Stupidly enough, there not even playing the game to have fun, they just want to win so they can feel good about themselfs. Proto stomping is driven by a blatent yet hidden part of the male human brain; a feel for the need to assert dominance.
I have millions of isk and level 5 every skill a heavy needs, I could easily protostomp if I wanted to. Why don't I stomp? Because I just want to have fun, and I know others want to have fun too, after all, its only a game. Those of you that might have seen me in game have probably seen that I hardly even use advanced gear. What's my KDR? Don't know, don't care. I just enjoy the game when I'm not getting stomped into the ground.

The better question is what around the matchmaking system consistently stacks teams one sided.
This isn't some random occurrence that happens here and there in DUST, it's something that happens in majority.
Rarely will you get what looks like a random allocation of players, you will have one side frequently filled with names that have been around for 6 months+ and the other side filled with NPC corporations.
And if this happened say even 50% of the time.. I would say it's merely coincidence.. But like i said previously this happens well above 60% of the time which leads you to believe there is something fundamentally Broken about the Match Making System. |

Most of the quality slayers in DUST are the same in others FPS games.
Usually they are wayyy better at the main FPS titles to the point where the challenge was gone and they got bored.
This echoes with nearly every quality player that people consider. More so then what your saying. |

The issue with match making has been debated for almost a half year; feel free to even search on the Dust forums on my posts alone that go back 4 months on this being a problem that leads directly to player retention. I'm pretty sure if all CCP will work on are hotfixes then this will never get addressed; you have to create either a tiered or cap system where players who fall under a specific SP number can only enter said matches or a given range or some other method. No matter the solution it'd require a client side update most likely and that doesn't seem to be in CCP's interests.
It's not like hotfixes aren't needed as well but its really a way of CCP implying that anything that is a client-side update they've already thrown in the white flag. Stomps pretty much happen on the weekends more than any other time and for the sole reason that its easier for players to stomp all the new ones and cap out their skill points. |

Sadly though, the matchmaking argument is, was, n will always be circular....can't keep players because they quit due to going up against vets, and don't have the player count to have good matchmaking....lovely isn't it?
