I am a little surprised to see Caldari Sentinel on top. I expected Amour and Galente to be ahead of it. These numbers do make me proud of the fact that I often run Minmatar Sentinel.

I'm considering skilling into Caldari heavies just to do the same...
If you really think damage mod stacking is a "crutch" then I don't know what to say about your brick tanked heavy suit. Get good, enjoy dying to suits with half your HP because you're bad.

This would have had no effect on the stats because they're for the last 10 days.

IgniteableAura wrote:Reeeallllly hate to burst your bubble but there is this handy tool made....it doesn't give you numbers, but graphs are more pretty. http://dust.thang.dk/market_historycategory.phpAlso purchased items does not mean most used, only that its getting purchased. One could say its the worse to use because its needing to be purchased more frequently aka the person using it dies and needs to restock. Example, Amarr logi as used almost solely for spawn suits and spamming uplinks, then switching to a different suit to provide a role. Therefore they almost never die in combat and never get restocked.
In theory you are right this could have an effect but in general people will use what they are comfortable with and they WILL die in these suits so they need to restock them...not everyone can go 26-0 every game |

CONFIRMED, the data backs it up The Amarr scout could be dying the least, therefore not needing to restock its supplies as often.

Let's not pretend this is actually the case, though.

It kind of surprises me that Caldari is #1 most purchased in every single dropsuit class.
Makes you wonder... is it because Caldari just die more often or are they truly the most popular class in our currently armor based meta?
I almost question the results when I see that Caldari Assault is the most popular... it literally has the absolute worst bonuses for the assault (maybe worst bonus of all suits that currently exist tbh) and yet its the most popular by a fairly large margin?
Edit: just noticed this is a bit of thread necromancy by the post above me... but it wasn't that long ago... wonder if these results still hold true 4 weeks later... |

You don't buy Frontline suits though right? This is all market purchase data?
The Armor meta is more than 4 weeks old... and its after the 1.8 dropsuit respec so I suspect these results haven't changed too much.
Which makes me wonder why the most underpowered set of suits in an armor based meta is making up almost 3/4's of the suits purchased in some of these categories... my only conclusion would be that these are the suits that are dying the most and not necessarily the suits being used the most. |

Im saying that used to all there was, was Caldari, and thats one reason its so popular. You first start playing, you had a frontline suit that was caldari, so now its time to spec a suit you skill caldari, and then you buy what you skill. I own all the cal suits and thats why.

Id say that is entirely plausible. Ill bet ccp rat has the data about what is dying the most. But even that can be misinterpreted. Just because you are dying the most could mean you are playing the most. We would need at least 3 key sets of data to say the truth about how good or bad something is.

I think this is probably a reflection of them being easier to kill. the same player having to keep restocking would push up the buying figures |

When comparing Armor and Shields you can see where Complex Shield Extenders are significantly better than Basic Shield Extenders while Basic are cheaper, where as with Armor the high HP of the Basic, coupled with the increasing movement penalty makes the Complex Armour Plate only better in certain conditions. That is, there are suits such as Scout suits where you would not use a Complex Plate, while with a Sentinel you would. It is interesting to see such antidotal analysis actually bared out by the numbers.
Such a cool post and discussion ! |
