Hey guys, Since we were all caught of guard by CCP announcement and this, in the process, enraged 90% of the community, now we need them to work harder than ever to deliver us the Project Legion stuff.
Few questions need to be answered in my opinion, since it will decide most of the DUST community future.
For the next weeks; 1) Is Project Legion a "go" or "no go" after the bad reaction it received; 2) How will character transfer work ? Will it really occur ? (This question is the most needed one... since those who plan playing Legion will start gathering resources or trainning based on this answer); 3) How long do you plan the DUST 514 servers to run?
For the next few months 1) Specs required to run the future project (Similar to EVE ? TO PS2?), Since people need time to plan a purchase of a rig; 2) SOLID timeframe for Alpha/Beta start. How long till the conclusion of the project? We need REAL progress tracking and dev blogs at least 2 per month to keep us updated.
The "Don't do this again to us" List: 1) Leave us in the dark; 2) Change projects without consulting us first; 3) Booster sales in a dying game (This was the most absurd thing IMO. I have 1 year of passive booster connected...all for nothing); 4) Specially this one... DO NOT LIE TO US ANYMORE !(LASER FOCUSED ON THE PS3 means LASER FOCUSED ON THE PS3... LASER FOCUSED ON THE LEGION PROJECT MEANS LASER FOCUSED ON THE LEGION PROJECT) (The Caps is not a scream it's to get the attention)
The concept you are working is what keeps me here... I'm losing almost all my corp mates to Destiny ( that game looks like it's going to SUCK BAD! ) because of this decision... I'm mad and needless to say ... all of us are.
Also, please don't delete this topic saying this is a rant... this is a demand ... not a rant,

The bad reaction is due to the HORRIBLE way they presented everything. Assuming they get their heads on straight and lay out a clear plan for BOTH games Legion will most likely have a good reception.

I really wish that players would stop knocking Destiny , I've seen the footage and it looks awesome .
Now I've seen reviews about game play as well and it looks alright as well .
It's not a rival to a game that's on it's last leg .
That's a whole different discussion .
Ever since that announcement I have been having a hard time just trying to play this game knowing that any effort means nothing now , CCP should give current players some sort of incentive to keep playing this game ... perhaps a SP refund and fixes to issues that have been swept under the rug for some time now , also fixing suits that have incorrect stats but something needs to be done .
I'm sure that they are producing legion with the dedication that they didn't give to Dust so I just don't believe that any of you have anything to worry about or else they wouldn't have made such an announcement .
Stop asking for tiercide , your killing variety and the fun of this game at the same dam time .

well CCP pulled off its oldest trick in the book/gaming history by scamming all of us into buying their booster packs. just like how its done in EVE/DUST they did to all of us in real life.

Since the debacle, it now looks like CCP has no choice but to give Legion the green light. They said they will be able to get our character stats ported over to Legion so now the only concerns about that part is the "When" and "How".
Also, there needs to be an incentive for console-only players to get a gaming PC. I'm sure almost every console player out there has a PC already, but how many are gaming rigs in particular?

I was debating this with BIRDANDY DBSA CEO.... We brazilians have a lot of trouble buying gaming platforms. If the system requirements are "low" we have an improved chance of moving our entire community to there... Even though BIRDANDY is really really pissed ... Give us a chance CCP!

Demands. Really? They could of rolled this project out a lot better I agree. There are players that are happy of these plans so far though. You do not know the half of CCP has gone through by saying this is what CCP is going to do and then not doing it. You do not want to try to make demands on a time frames in beginning. That is how many big companies screw things up and we do not want to do that. Do we? I have many of the same questions but realize that they might not have the answers yet and wont in the near future.
I think CCP presents gave us a good idea of what their strategy is now as far as bundling all products on PC at first. I am just hoping the pay model does not change for Legion compared to Dust.

Hi guys
I'll do what I can to answer some of your questions over the next few days. :) It's only the first day after Fanfest so I'm a little weary, but I'll do my best! Some answers for you, based on what we know:
- Project Legion will be determined to be a "go" or a "no go" when Hilmar et al. sign off on it. We obviously really want it to grow in to a real boy and become everything this game's vision is made out to be. It's not at the point in development for that call to be made just yet.
- Character transfer is a no-brainer from a conceptual standpoint, but it's specifics are difficult from a development standpoint. I understand the frustration that it wasn't made crystal clear during the keynote. Let me elaborate a little as to why it's difficult, though. As presented in CCP Z's talk, we're working super hard on developing a progression system and economy that will kick ass. So, if some things may not exist or make sense should Legion become a reality, then those items couldn't carry over (in their current form, anyway). Rest assured though, we will do what we can to preserve what is currently there and figure out solutions for what is not. That is my current understanding. :)
- I have seen no plans relating to DUST 514 shutting down at this time. We're still working on some things for it and over the next few weeks (and once I'm back in Shanghai) hopefully I can figure out more of what that will entail.
- It's too early to be able to talk about Specs, although I know that the guys are starting to pull a rough idea of these together. The game is still being heavily developed and little has been done in the way of optimization just yet, but this will obviously happen. When we have an idea of minimum specs I'll try to get them out to you. Keep poking.
- Solid timeframe for Alpha / Beta is also impossible to give right now, because the truth is that we honestly don't know until the Project is green-lit. Once that happens then we'll be able to try and formalize those plans.
Ultimately, I don't want to leave you guys in the dark. It was difficult to remain closed-lipped about the announcement of Project Legion prior to Fanfest (trust me!), but it's my intention to try and share as much as I can with you in the meantime.

But you did see plans to split the dev team right?
You did see the reduced dev cycle and no substantial content right?
You did see that there was no content about Dust at Fanfest correct?
Part of the team has been working on Legion for some months, and you still need another month to figure out what to do about the game that up until a couple of days ago had paying customers? It never seemed prudent to have that discussion amongst yourselves at some point before now?
The amount of hubris involved in making your post is vast. Just tell Hilmar to draft a new apology letter, he can use the form from the Incarna debacle, and move on.
Every day you are willing to accept money for a game that you know has no realistic chance of ever becoming what is advertised is an affront to good customer relations.

Once again CCP does not get it. Remember, Saberwing, the parts in the OP where he stated the text was bold for emphasis? That the same part that is causing players to leave not just Dust but all of ccp's products
CCP, as a company, has made clear through it's actions ( and despite its constant denials and empty reassurances ) that players are not valued as loyal customers. Instead, players are to be treated as a resource - a wellspring of cash that must be extracted through whatever business model your new executives deem most efficient.
CCP, you have misled, deceived, failed to inform or interact with the players of DUST who stayed with you through the most difficult times. We, who gave you our time, commitment and hard earned money. We helped make dust and CCP a viable force in this new market - we are the customers you have mistreated to a deplorable degree.
For the record and to silence the idiots: Legion is the right way to go. It's the only reasonable direction for the game and the company.
Do not confuse my drastic and emotional reaction to ccp's terrible business practices over the past several months as unhappiness with thier direction. I have always advocated for fair and reasonable communication from devs to players.
If we had ever been offered that I would still be a customer.
But CCP decided that the petty dollars they could bleed from us by not communicating would be of more value then continued customer loyalty. Fine- Rouge has decided the price he will charge CCP for short term cash. And many players will no longer be CCP customers.
And because its clear from thier comtinued lack of attention or focus on this - the customer loyalty aspect and terrible communication - that CCP intends to keep this the status quo, I intend to never offer them more of my time or money in support of thier business |

Hi guys I'll do what I can to answer some of your questions over the next few days. :) It's only the first day after Fanfest so I'm a little weary, but I'll do my best! Some answers for you, based on what we know: - Project Legion will be determined to be a "go" or a "no go" when Hilmar et al. sign off on it. :) - I have seen no plans relating to DUST 514 shutting down at this time. We're still working on some things for it and over the next few weeks (and once I'm back in Shanghai) hopefully I can figure out more of what that will entail. - It's too early to be able to talk about Recommend Hardware Specs, although I know that the guys are starting to pull a rough idea of these together. Hard to do a char transfer? Actually not really cause i highly assume that Legion will be played on Tranquility server. So if you make a new account for Legion just link your PSN (like you do now with the forum login) and then the dust chars are getting added to the legion account. |

DONT EVEN BOTHER making it no green light!
I constantly see people bringing that HACK subject into the discussion. This will CERTANTLY NOT BE AN ISSUE. Remember that this is a permanent game with permanent characters and with PERMANENT BANS, imagine if any1 with more than a few weeks of gameplay would use anykind of hack and have the risk to get banned?? i am completely sure that hacks will never be a problem in legion. |

The bad reaction is due to the HORRIBLE way they presented everything. Assuming they get their heads on straight and lay out a clear plan for BOTH games Legion will most likely have a good reception. Mate you need to change your sig. I seriously can't read anything you post.
I feel like a cat watching a mouse.... I just want to jump IT! EDIT: If you get REALLY REALLY close to the screen, it becomes 3D.............. The new dust VR has arrived!

Few questions need to be answered in my opinion, since it will decide most of the DUST c For the next weeks; 1) Is Project Legion a "go" or "no go" after the bad reaction it received; 2) How will character transfer work ? Will it really occur ? (This question is the most needed one... since those who plan playing Legion will start gathering resources or trainning based on this answer);

It was difficult to remain closed-lipped about the announcement of Project Legion prior to Fanfest (trust me!), but it's my intention to try and share as much as I can with you in the meantime. Once again CCP does not get it. Remember, Saberwing, the parts in the OP where he stated the text was bold for emphasis? That the same part that is causing players to leave not just Dust but all of ccp's products CCP, as a company, has made clear through it's actions ( and despite its constant denials and empty reassurances ) that players are not valued as loyal customers. And because its clear from thier comtinued lack of attention or focus on this - the customer loyalty aspect and terrible communication - that CCP intends to keep this the status quo, I intend to never offer them more of my time or money in support of thier business I wish I could like this to infinity. |
