I think that the people at CCP are doing the best they can with the situation at hand, and that they expected a better reaction from the community.
Watching the youtube vid of the first DUST Keynote I honestly belive CCP expected the majority of players to go "This is awesome, the game i've been supporting looks like it has a bright future. I would have liked it to be sooner on the currentt platform, but it makes sense that we're asking for integration that hasn't been done before."
Instead the community riots about DUST not being completed on the PS3. Accept that one day the PS3 wil give us the same nostalgia that a PS does now, but we were asking for too much crammed into a tiny package.
Things will get better in time, and we will have the game that we want on the grandest scale.

No, you have missed the point.
We know that PS3 is a strange platform ( i hate people when they say it's not powerful, 'cause only Dust fail in what, an example, Mag can.) and the MAJOR part of the community was saying:
" Move to PS4 NOW, we can stand a shitti game on ps3, if you move to ps4 NOW the lack of AA games will make the player base grow, and PS4 is much simple to code for."
People are pissed because WE ( people that don't want to buy a gamin PC or like me, that have played on PC for years and know that AIMBOT,TRIGBOT and various Hack, or simply a better PC, better mouse, better keyboard bring an IMBALANCE impossibile to handle) don't get the chance to play the game we help to support.
CCP said the dust will have 10Y plan, that my choice will matter.
As a consumer i feel cheated, so i'm burning my assets and ISK while waiting Destiny. and the Get the **** out.
And the funny thing was that, before the fanfest, i was thinking about buying a middle pc for playing EVE only, since my MACPRO that run After effect CS5 seem to can't handle EVE at minimum setting..... (C.ant C.code P.roperly |

If you're based in America (as in the North American PSN region, not just USA), and are interested in spending $5 on making your paperweight potentially worthwhile, you might want to consider taking a look at Armored Core: Verdict Day. It obviously isn't connected to EVE or New Eden, but it has better controls than DUST and more fluid gameplay while also having insanely complex and involved customisation. It also could use more players who have learned that most important lesson the people of New Eden cherish: HTFU. It's made by a company called "From Software". They're apparently fairly well-known for something called "Dark Souls". Maybe you've heard of it? It's allegedly a difficult game or something. I don't know, but if you want steep learning cliffs, Armored Core is pretty good at providing something to throw yourself off. AC Verdict Day is kind of hard as well...... Harder than protostomping in DUST, but easier than being protostomped. Less of a grind to be able to counter it, too. |

You know, I'm always excited to play this game... Now I just dread the day when I can no longer log in. I think I just wasted my life for the last 15 months... I can't believe this bs. I dropped playing Eve to play dust. If this games moves I won't be playing neither.
PS CCP, I think you just lost part of the community from Eve and Dust... Better rethink what your doing, This is like the screw up in Eve from 2 years ago. |

Revelations 514 wrote:So it appears my post was deleted even though it was constructed respectfully, coherently, and did not go against any of the forum rules. Way to be. It was not a rant of any sort either, but brought up several valid points I suppose you could not refute so deletion was easier.
So be it.
Basically, to reiterate, I am embarrassed for recommending this game to friends. I am embarrassed that I bought extra copies of BPO suits that I will never be able to "sell" on the "marketplace" as you stop developing for this game. (Yes I know what they said, but the way they said it and the actions they have taken speak more truthfully than the PR jargon loaded response that we received).
Name one thing that moving to the PC platform fixes specifically, that is still a problem with our current PS3 iteration? Does anyone really think more computational resources will fix the issues we have with our current iteration of the product?
What has been changed to prevent Legion from failing in much the same manner? The only thing I can think of is that you now have a running start.
But the absolutely worst thing you did was to be working on this project, knowingly, for months, while promoting a game you would no longer be supporting. I even think you knew the fallout would be quite large, which is why Legion will stay on PC and will not port, so that you can take advantage of the goodwill gotten by your only successful enterprise, EVE.
Doesn't really matter though. I am pissed my post was deleted as I cannot remember half of it but in the end, I'm over it and will not be supporting CCP's future endeavors.
the definition of insanity is doing something over and over again and expecting a different result. Same devs, same company, same game
The way this was botched, down from the vision to the execution, to the PR; is in no way the playerbase fault, yet they are the ones paying the price for CCP's over-ambition and poor management. IMO, CCP fully deserves to fail. As to succeed after failing in almost every aspect would defy logic and be a failure of a free market. Keep this in mind while you continue to support them.
CCP's failures: Vision - over-ambitious Communication - in soo many ways but to generalize; no communication as to the direction of the game or the vision changing Execution - In almost every aspect. Slow to update, slow to add features, even slow to add things you already knew you would be adding SOON. Ending beta obviously not ready and unable to admit you were not ready. Planning - no buffer's for when something could not be completed. No logical progression map or timeline Coordination - Whose working on what? How does this fit into the big picture. What is the end result even supposed to be. Alas now we will never know, but I don't think they ever knew either. Feedback - No acknowledgement whatsoever of the above failures, or how you learned from these failures, or what you will do different with Legion to prevent the same failures occurring again. Leadership - None obviously, as with good leadership the above failures would never have been allowed to occur. A good leader must be able to see the big picture and act accordingly. Must be able to see the obstacles on the horizon and prepare the team.
The only thing done well? You had a good idea. *Golf clap*

I'm not sure why but I am skeptical of the OP. At the same time I'm skeptical of CCP's investigation. The PSN is linked to an email address. Why not post a screenshot or a copy of the email that was sent. Post the header data or something. Considering my background I can tell if it's relatively legit or not. The PSN account contains phone numbers and everything. The best response CCP had was "we investigated".
When I investigate I say thinks like:
"I used every means to contact this player that I can to include in game message, email, phone calls, and even contacted CEO's of his Corp and we have received no response. In addition, we checked the list of people that bought tickets for Fanfest and tried our best to correlate his contact info on file and his alias in the game with the real life names of people that had participated. So far we can find zero evidence that his message is accurate."
But instead you guys went with:
"We investigated".
Yeah, both of you guys are either lying or only one of you are and it's likely CCP.
C'mon.
PSN is "Ekopalm"

However, the initial lock was decided upon thorough investigation, we wanted to meet with the player, talk in person, but we were not able to locate any evidence that this player was indeed here and attending Fanfest. Let's just say for a moment that this person doesn't even exist...does it change the fact that it is true and this is how many of the Dust players might feel? Bad publicity is better locked and buried I guess. I have been part of this community since the beta and have seen how new players and so called outsiders have been treated by the EVE community in general. Although this is all no surprise and I personally look forward to moving on with other games like Destiny and Planetside 2, I truly sympathize with those people. In the end I think it's better this way. The abandoned Dust members will be happier somewhere else.
I'm kind of curious because if you think about it you could've only contacted them via PSN or their registered user info. For the record I know my "full legal name" isn't on my PSN account for Dust so like sh**t me now because my old phone number is attached to it an an e-mail I checked once every 3 months so unless you contacted me ingame with a shotgun I would've ignored it completely as well from your perspective. We live in a world like that I know I'm not the only one. Sorry if I don't blindly trust companies with my personal info because obviously trust is something a company earns ...really gotta love the ironic truth to this.
But to lock the thread, I mean who handles this stuff? Can I work for your PR department because I'm even more skeptical if you have a person who exists at all who works in this department. It's not even the worse thread calling out CCP even, so really what gives! So here's the deal, the community will produce this "player" you cannot locate if you produce this "public relations expert" who I'm equally skeptical doesn't exist. Fair deal? And you better not tell me his name is Godot either |

I'm sorry to hear that man, that's sad. CCP is a bunch of jack asses for that, you felt apart of a community and they pretty much took a crap on you. It's disheartening really. They really turned their backs and flipped off the whole Dust community.
I can't say I feel your pain, but I do have some idea... I bought the Eve Second Decade Collector's Edition set, and after playing Dust and getting into I was excited for all of the Dust related stuff in the set but then CCP disowned Dust, making all of the items and talk of Dust in the collector's set a big lie. |

What a load of horse ****. Really? That's what you people do? 'We have come to conclude in our infinite retardation that this guy wasn't at fanfest so we locked his thread because we don't approve.'
