As someone who uses a rep tool,and injector i can tell you why there aren't more medics.

Support based players such as myself can't disengage ANY battles we happen to come across.
We try to run only to be killed by magnetic bullets bending around corners,or by hyper long range shots RR and CR even AR in 1.8.
Or being obliterated by anything that shoots at us.
1.8 hasn't helped TTK at all where support is concerned. Ugh

Woo i can run 7m/s as a Min logi....and yet ANY heavy can chase me around corners while unloading their HMG into my backside. Roll

Not to mention,as soon as a rep tool appears they single you out because:
-You're defenseless
-The person you're repping doesn't give a crap about your survival.

Not to mention the slowdown if you get shot even once,it cuts my speed down to half of my walking speed. 2.5m/s WHILE SPRINTING.
That and the costs of trying to run a decent fit while also being singled out and getting One Hit Killed by snipers and shotgunners because you're the medic with no one to revive you makes it a monsterous ISK sink.

My main logi carries an injector, Double rep tool and a nanohive :-) But I will agree it is MUCH nicer when running with another logi and trying to work together as much as we can!!! I fit my defense first then the equipment. I've ran my ALT in all kinds of squads or solo. One truth has always been is he supports the Slayers. Most Slayers are not going to bother to carry a needle unless there is an understanding beforehand. Many good Slayers are going to want their own Nanohives so they aren't slowed down. By its nature a one-way arrangement. Since you are responsible for yourself there is nothing wrong focusing first on personal tank then Equipment. Forums > Game: So here is a cookie and a Like. Also, I avoid picking people up that aren't flashing their indicator, unless it is obviously clear, because if it is clear then some random ass blue logi will pick you up; stealing what I consider my 60+12 wp.
