As someone who uses a rep tool,and injector i can tell you why there aren't more medics.

Support based players such as myself can't disengage ANY battles we happen to come across.
We try to run only to be killed by magnetic bullets bending around corners,or by hyper long range shots RR and CR even AR in 1.8.
Or being obliterated by anything that shoots at us.
1.8 hasn't helped TTK at all where support is concerned. Ugh

Not to mention,as soon as a rep tool appears they single you out because:
-You're defenseless
-The person you're repping doesn't give a crap about your survival.

Not to mention the slowdown if you get shot even once,it cuts my speed down to half of my walking speed. 2.5m/s WHILE SPRINTING.
That and the costs of trying to run a decent fit while also being singled out and getting One Hit Killed by snipers and shotgunners because you're the medic with no one to revive you makes it a monsterous ISK sink.

So many heavies, hell solo work is available for dedicated healers with all the fatties running (slowly) around. With the scout surge however there is a lot of me repping my heavy with my back to him so I can watch for sneaky sneaks flanking the rear. I love the way the game feels now. So much more to it now! Adding cloaks was the best! There is a whole new level of strategy. It is now completely possible to focus on flipping points and win despite your team burning clones like it was a Dustchwitz reenactment. Seriously so happy! We can pickle that.

Both carry a K2 nano hive the Adv native injector, and either a six kin or corefocused rep tool. I rarely run logi outside of a squad and when I am in a squad my squadmates come before blue berries. If I'm not in a squad I'm usually rocking up a Adv minmitar assault with damage mods and finally I also am a very confident dropship pilot (not assault I can fly them but I hate them) with access all basic level vehicles. If you need a logi send me mail but due to the "he is yellow kill him first" I will require a hand with suit payment. Nothing to expensive usually it's only around 100k ISK for a game and I won't charge extra the next if I don't need it on suits. Send me mail if you are interested in my services.

This, so very much this. I have just shy of 600 ehp on my usual logistics suit with Advanced equipment. When I'm doing my job I'm targeted like a turkey the week of Thanksgiving. I often can only get to one or two people before someone, anyone, cuts me down and bastes me with grenades and rifle fire. And I want to do my job but in pubs I'm left for dead, expected to respawn and rush back at my rather pathetic 5-6 m/s sprint speed (Amarr, by the way). Yeah, I'm only just faster than a heavy. You want more logistics, try being one then. We're doing our best and that's all you're going to get from us.

Who is the best in clearing an area and carrying equipment? Not a Logibro, not heavies. So it is upto assaults and scouts to clear the area and then revive. They are the medics, for supplies and revives that is the bros. So the best paramedic in the game right now is probably the Amarr scout as they are the ones who can tank, surprise kill an opponent and have a spare equipment slot for an injector. Heck they could combo it with a revive tool too.

I won't repeat myself all over again. Note that now that these roles have been nerfed into unusefulness, I've deleted my previously efficient Logi/AV Fittings and I've reinvested my refunded SP into now funnier things than Logi Dropsuits. Haha! All the ISK and equipment I will save from now on! My alts: General John Ripper, Draxus Prime, MoonEagle A, Cat Merc, Darken-Soul, Long Evity and DeadlyAztec11.
