We will all be traveling in a single cruiser. It is a Force Recon cruiser so it will be providing all the necessary ewar and scan support we may need. Have Satja on the ship in the command center she will be able to monitor vitals, video feeds through the helmets, and scanning information sent by the drones. |

Sweet I've always wanted to have Satja doing her actual job for Kador.
This is he duty..... nor just a servant but a support unit for Templar's in the field.

glad to hear it. I included it because it also gives me a way of presenting the teams with information in an RP way instead of just stating it. |

Do I? I mean typically she works with Mortals more often than not and only for Kador either rolling his direct comms line or working with wounded soldiers.....but beyond that I am unsure if I am writing her character correctly.

Well...
We kill each other all time time, It's just that we keep coming back
We do care, I mean, if Kador by some freakish accident killed Satja, he wouldn't just be like "meh, I'll get another one", since he seems to have bonded with her on some level.
We can be restrained, it's just very difficult.

It depends..... most Amarrian's are brought to to believe clones are soulless....... a soulless immortal that defies the established laws of God........ one thats physically imposing and 7 feet tall or more kitted out for war.....
Its human...and yet its not, so very alien, but too similar for you to consider it anything my familiar...... and capable of horrific things.....its the base of modern horror.

I thought that commando suits had decent speed, certainly compatible with medium grade fits.
The REAL fat suits are me and Jacques.
Although since the update, "Fat Suit" tends to refer to the Gallente heavies, due to how the plates of armour actually look like folds of blubber.

What would the Amarr one be called, if not "fat suit", since it actually looks more streamline and dexterous than some of the others.
===
What really strikes me is this: "Why is the armour on the Caldari sentential so bulky? It has similar AHP to medium models, just a really big shield. Would have made more sense to have a massive Tesla Coils, lightning rods, and other mad scientist electrical objects.

It has similar AHP to medium models, just a really big shield. Would have made more sense to have a massive Tesla Coils, lightning rods, and other mad scientist electrical objects. I think I can answer that question after observing the desing of the suit, we all know that the caldari favor strong shields and weak armor, instead of weak shields and strong armor like the gallente.
We also know that every Caldari suit only has a rudimentary armor plating to protect the most vital areas, which is the chest shoulders, underarms, hands, crotch, back, chins, legs and the calfs.
Another fact is also that the power source for the suit is on the back which is in the case of the assault suit a e5000 flatcoil fusioncore which results in the very strong shielding which they are known for.
And then do we also know that they use magnetic servos to move these suits.
And this brings me to my theory which can be corrected by anyone because we want to get answers here, is that the heavy has to be so bulky to protect the servos from being damaged in the most sensitive spots, which are there where the armor plates are located.
The plates are only placed upon the suit which itself is very thin. If you look between the plates can you see a material which reminds one of cloth, it could be something like an extremly thin layer of a metal alloy which are, next to the thick caldari steel plates, the only protection for the servos.
And the "Backpack" is of course the most protected part of the suit because in there is most likely an even stronger power source than the e5000 which could result in a rather big explosion if hit or it could just shutdown the suit because this is the main power source of it and try to use servos without energy.
This and the knowledge that the suits have a far stronger exoskeleton than middle- or light frames which means that they can carry far heavier loads of equipment, which makes it logical to place very thick and "bulky" armor plates on these sensitive areas to ensure that the movement won't be easily incapacipated by a shot without armor piercing ammunition after the shield has been powered down.
That and I think the bulky design of the plates could reduce the damage done by projectiles by speading the impact force via the various corners of the plates. Which results that a plate doesn't get that much damaged because the shooter has to be very precise to hit the same corner again to pierce it.
As I said you guys can correct me because I like to do some science stuff. |

While I agree that extra protection may be lent to the servo motors (which would only be found at joints such as hips, knees, shoulders, etc. Possibly one at the spine, but this would be protected by the backpack), this doesn't explain why standard plates are used for areas like the chest and thighs, which would enhance mobility by a significant factor.
Additionally, they could either reverse-engineer some Gallente armour tech, as they have done lots of research on strong lightweight plates, or just borrow some from the Amarr, who also have highly developed armour research (and the father of the original heavy frames); as this would allow much thinner, less bulky plates that offer compatible performance.

I hope I got the right ideas here so. The shield system is at it strongest in the middle of the persons height, which is the area around the chest to the thighs, which makes the armor there just a security measure to protect the wearer from harm if the shield is overloaded and fails.
The chest area is still a very vital spot to hit and because of the height of the suit is it also easy to hit which make this a must to protect part by every way possible. Did you also notice that the chest plates can be easily taken off from the suit? It reminds me of an optional flack jacket.
The thighs are also very easy to hit and it if the heavy get's hit there, could it happen that the heavy is unable to move or moving would become extremly hard with one functioning leg, and you could bleed out because there is a major blood vessel in your legs and if you get hit there is it good bye if you don't have a logi around.
Mobility on the other hand is something that Caldari don't need during a fight, they are experts in long range combat which means that they only need to counter any try of the enemy to outflank them, or every try to break through the Rail fire by forcing them to close quarters fights.
Don't forget that Caldari also want to make some cash with those suits, using gallente armor material on a suit that already has a fusion reactor on it's back is very expensive, and the shipping costs for Amarr plates would be very high if they even want to "borrow" them.
Which means that they would only use material like caldari steel because it's cheap, and they can easily replace it from the suit if it get's damaged by just hooking the destroyed plate off the suit, which reduces the maintenance costs, except for the reactor which is a different story.
So the answer to this question (I think) is, that mobility is ignored by Caldari engineers in favor for better survivability and it's far cheaper to use caldari steel flack jackets to protect the heart and lungs and some rudimentary armor plates around the legs to secure that the legs can't be easily sniped of to immobilize the heavy.
But it is possible to detach the plates and gain more mobility but that would depend on the situation. Well this is my theory don't know if that is worth the space that im using here. |

I'll just note you here that Caldari tech isn't necessarily designed for speed and mobility. In EVE, their ships are the third slowest right before Amarr, while Gallente are second right after Minmatar. Caldari ships rely on hunkering down with their shields and engage their enemies from long ranges, and I would assume this design philosophy applies to DUST as well. Your speculation makes sense from my point of view.
I'll also be writing a post sometime today.
