Share your opinions, here are mine:
- People strafing to avoid bullets, are we in the matrix?
- Redline rail tanks
- Rail tanks vs any other vehicle
- Redline snipers, especially those hitbox is completely hidden by terrain and those who use Thales.
- Getting kicked for FW for team damage from attacking a red tank (hacked)
- Tank spam
- AV vs vehicle imbalance
- The horrible state of most Gallente weapons vs other weapons
- Crappy New Player Experience
- Absence of full EWAR, imbalances tank vs gank. Like a kangaroo without a tail, imbalanced.
- Lack of heavy weapon parity
- Getting 1 shotted in a dropship by a triple damage mod rail tank

Strafing to avoid bullets? You can just expect someone to stand there and let you shoot them.

So... basically you're annoyed that people don't stand still and let you kill them? Sorry, but this complaint doesn't belong.
I'll agree with everything else, though. |

I think strafing and "avoiding bullets" make gunfights require more skill. Tracking shooters are greater then twitch shooters. Want to know why? Because you have to have your gun pointed at someone for a longer amount of time then it takes one bullet to leave your muzzle. Want a FPS where strafing doesn't matter? Go play COD or BF. The others I completely agree with!
PS. I really hate dropships and heavies wielding rail rifles. |

What is irritating about it is how effective it is but only in a purely mechanical way. Strafing works well to avoid fire, this is a real tactic. I just think here it is too strong. What reminds me this is really a game is when people strafe left/right faster than the sensitivity can really follow, allowing them to avoid like 50% of my shots. In real life I would laugh then shoot them because I don't have a limited ability to look left/right, but obviously here that is a reality. It breaks immersion.
For those calling it skill, trying that in real life vs a full auto assault rifle and tell me how well it works. |

I used to have the same thoughts on immersion and video games, but then came a freeing day in my life. I realized that, I'm playing a game and if they made the game so realistic and true to real life it wouldn't be very much fun.
I do agree with strafe speeds of people using a keyboard and mouse though. They don't experience any type of lag when they switch between left and right, whereas when using a controller the analog stick must go from left to right causing a slight delay when changing directions. |

I can see where you're coming from here but the thing you need to remember is that... this isn't real life. Who's to say that soldiers thousands of years into the future won't be dancing side to side to minimize damage to their shields and armor plating? I have absolutely no way to prove this will happen but you can't prove it won't.
The most we can do is accept it for what it is. That is to say, accept it as a game.
(Except if it's something completely game breaking like a number of current topics I won't get into for fear of derailing your thread further than I may have already...) |

- twilight & night time maps where you can't see wtf is going on
- scrub tank pilots that focus on infantry rather than enemy vehicles
- stagnation between builds
- the forums when they have nothing interesting to talk about
- massive open areas of the maps that lack adequate cover
- fatty taxis
- massive railing hitboxes
- railings one inch taller than a scout's jump
- railings period
- god awful uneven glitchy terrain
- lack of turret stabilization
this list will probably grow but i have places to go.

Unfortunately, that door only opens when you find the 1 out of 20 tankers that aren't in 3rd Person view. (I use the term "tanker" loosely. While real tankers still exist, the FOTM crowd overshadow them, sadly.) |

Fortunatly most rail tankers are in first person view, tho only about half of those eave the red line.

Passive in-match skillpoints feelgood charity -> AFKing and wallflowers afraid to get their teeth kicked in. Match rewards should be merit-based and differentially reward new players.
Sloppy, frustrating terrain interaction & getting caught on invisible walls. What can i say here? There are no excuses. It's embarrassing.
The sloth mechanic - a primary factor in the 'clunky' feel of DUST. Destroys kinetic gameplay, particularly for Scouts. Replace it with a more constructive mechanic, e.g. added dispersion while taking fire.
Tank-dominated gameplay with few(or no) practical counters. Destructive to the DUST experience in pubs and the academy. Provide counters bearing on the velocity gap and stacked hardeners. Web grenades & a duty-cycle stacking penalty, imo.
Voicecomms hurting game performance/not working properly/incomplete. This is a core mechanic given the kind of game DUST aspires to be.
The grindy skillpoint model that punishes peeps who have RL commitments - contributes to that 'unpleasant 2nd job' feeling. Respect your players. Support them with skillpoint rollover. Peeps will still buy boosters.
Unreliable Tacnet. Stealth tanks. Lagging active scan results. No information is better than false results due to time delay.
The redline and it's interaction with warpoints/skillpoints and long-range weapons systems. Many other mechanics could prevent the losing side being hard-spawncamped.
I support SP rollover.
