Share your opinions, here are mine:
- People strafing to avoid bullets, are we in the matrix?
- Redline rail tanks
- Rail tanks vs any other vehicle
- Redline snipers, especially those hitbox is completely hidden by terrain and those who use Thales.
- Getting kicked for FW for team damage from attacking a red tank (hacked)
- Tank spam
- AV vs vehicle imbalance
- The horrible state of most Gallente weapons vs other weapons
- Crappy New Player Experience
- Absence of full EWAR, imbalances tank vs gank. Like a kangaroo without a tail, imbalanced.
- Lack of heavy weapon parity
- Getting 1 shotted in a dropship by a triple damage mod rail tank

So... basically you're annoyed that people don't stand still and let you kill them? Sorry, but this complaint doesn't belong. I'll agree with everything else, though.
What is irritating about it is how effective it is but only in a purely mechanical way. Strafing works well to avoid fire, this is a real tactic. I just think here it is too strong. What reminds me this is really a game is when people strafe left/right faster than the sensitivity can really follow, allowing them to avoid like 50% of my shots. In real life I would laugh then shoot them because I don't have a limited ability to look left/right, but obviously here that is a reality. It breaks immersion.
For those calling it skill, trying that in real life vs a full auto assault rifle and tell me how well it works. |

But the movement mechanics can be tweaked to turn our characters from ballerinas into soldiers. We are in a Advanced Dropsuits that improve your movement, strength and defense to take bullets... Along with being immortal Clone soldiers.. If you can move at 10 meters per second... Who could track that at even 50% accuracy with the best marksmen in the world? Let alone in the heat of battle with a scout up in your face...
Perhaps the futuristic, immortal clone soldier with the abilities far beyond normal humans could....
Another thing, strafing as we have it ignores inertia. You can move left from 0 m/s to 10 m/s instantly, stop on a dime, and instantly begin moving right at 10 m/s. I am no physics major but wouldn't you have to, at least somewhat, gradually gain speed then decrease it or else you would spin out at the beginning or slide at the end due to lack of perfect traction on dirt? Not to mention the fact that our mercs can ignore all the inertia from going one direction, so to instantly overcome 10 m/s of left movement you would need like 20 m/s of right movement. Except we can't move 20 m/s ..... |
