Commando Contingency

Maximum number of AUR prototype Commando dropsuits reward per character is 400 (for all types)

Kills made while inside a vehicle will not count for this event

Objective 2: During the event period players will receive ISK rewards for killing Commando dropsuits.

Rewards: Any player character killing a Commando dropsuit during this event will receive an ISK bounty based on the type of commando dropsuit. Bounty is as follows:

Standard GÇô 10000 ISK
Advanced GÇô 25000 ISK
Prototype GÇô 50000 ISK

Additional event info

All rewards are on a per character basis
ISK bounty is capped at 10 million
This event objective can be played in conjunction with Sidearm Showdown

But yes I do hope you use the information gathered from this event to adjust sidearms (And possibly even commando suits if need be) after the event has concluded as I am sure tweaks will be needed. A good weekend like the one we just had will see many players hit cap very quickly Their defenses don't include a drop from maximum dropship altitude. 6 Mercs dropping at full speed out of no where.

What was not mentioned is, if I kill people in say a tank using a swarm launcher, do I get points for killing them if I am wearing a commando suit at the time, this was not addressed, what is said is that "If you are in a vehcile and kill someone you do not get points" Does this also include Blaster, Missile, and Rail turrets, where you are not actually inside a vehicle you are controlling a turret and can be killed very easily. I hope this event is going to be reworded fast, along with details added in, such as do gernade kills count, they are considered to be a weapon, do remote explosives count or are they considered to be equipment? What is actually considered to be a weapon?

I was worried 1.8 would only be cloaked shottys waitng in a corner for you too hack objective. This should turn some players too commando side of life. Me myself amarr commando, scrambler rifle,shotgun,complex dampener, enhanced range extender,basic shield extenders(or basic damage mods) and cloak (if i can fit it) if not remotes considering scanners are going out the window with 1.8. At least for me, not much use besides too scan a doorway or look for links "oh your tank makes me shake in my wee little logi boots, what the hell? +150, + 50 popped up on my screen"

Thanks for the clarification. If a kill is made with a melee attack, the logs will only show the dropsuit used and not the weapon. So, if you made a melee kill (with a sidearm) in a commando suit that would count for the commando contingency event, but not the sidearm showdown event. We will update the event info with this and ask the dev team to track melee kills by weapon type in the future.
