1.8 = the continuation of OP tanks in open fields combined with OP Sentinels in interiors. Thanks CCP I've been meaning to catch up with some of my single player games and spend more time playing my PS4.
Most tankers are like sand people. They frighten easily, but will quickly return...and in greater numbers.

Wow, this turned into a pissing contest quite quickly. Sadly, I'm at work and lack any popcorn. I sure hope it continues nonetheless, even though I must venture out into the stacks to locate 200 misplaced books out of roughly 2,000,000. Good day gentlemen.

Does not listen, or listens and takes no action, the result is the same.
The situation remains unchanged, and CCP makes no statement.
Could they remove vehicles from Ambush? Could they change recall timers? Could they change vehicle caps to suit game types?
Who know? CCP isn't saying anything, and the CPM isn't worth much besides telling us things we already know, and not getting across to CCP the importance of balancing what is in the game before breaking it and adding new stuff.

Wrong dude, sneaking up on a tank isn't hard at all. It's having them hold still long enough to actually plant all 3 remote charges. A good tanker hears one beep and they are gone, that also if you get lucky and they're in first person or have their camera angled so you can stand in their blind spot. Only if we could use equipment while cloaked. .

I think it is possible that awarding damage points for damage may be a large enough change to warrant testing on its own and see where tank AV balance is with it. I personally think the lack of incentive to play AV was the major problem, and swarms sucking so bad. I guess we'll see. I know I'm happy about the WP anyway.

Giving AV the WP might motivate some, but the problem is that overall AV effectiveness has been drastically slashed.
In a prime example, a great way to spike a tank is to roll up in an LAV, and attack with a mix of packed AV nades and forge.
In the upcoming changes, the forge has lost 15% of its damage to it off type, and lost 5% to each damage mod. They have also lost over 1000 potential damage from the lack of a third AV or Flux.
Across the board AV nerf with no tank changes is going to be very, very bad.
Real AV doesn't stop until all the tanks are dead.

CCP says here ya dummy's take your bonus SP and your 1.8 banked SP along with this dropsuit command SP and sink your 4-5 mill into the tank you think you know what your doing with and a few weeks later everything will change per CCP and they will be fish food
the only real tankers that will know how to adapt and overcome will be the ones who have spent their dust career dealing with the good and the bad since the beginning

I don't see the fuss and those that QQ about it are simply incompetent. I personally don't think it's ok to have a 1 HAV kill grenade. It should take more then one grenade and the less one carry's the more effort it takes, so no spamming of grenades, more hives needed. As it is meant to be. RE's and prox mines work on tanks, aslong as your smart about it, cloaks might increase the brain factor a bit ( and yes perhaps some bug fixing in that area). My forge gun works aswell. So no problem there yes it might take me multiple shot's, but they still go down and if i'm paired with someone with swarms we tear them up. So if there is indeed a so called proto tanker and all still fails i call in my own hav and problem mostly solved (not always offcourse). Team effort and out of the box thinking is what kill's HAV's.
But that all said i do think that instead of CCP running circle's around the same things, trying to hotfix something that does not need a hotfix, they might want to introduce more different way's of killing vehicles. Like beeing able to call down barriers, mine fields. spikes for cripling effect, vehicle emc weapons, lock on devices so that perhaps the pods in space can interact on taking out vehicles, etc. Afterall it does not always have to be god like weapons to take out the mean bad wolf. Equipment could help aswell. |

Yeah nice one now i cant even destroy a damn militia LAV with AV nades anymore. I usually need 3 AV grenades in a row to take them out. Now its futile to put AV nades on my suit. And i highly doubt that the forgegun will deal enough damage without tripple complex damage mods anymore. That thing was the only half usefull av cause the other 2 are a waste of time to even use.

My guess this is either a hotfix that will break more than it helps or it will take 3 month to be deployed. Look I dount want to sound pessimistic but WE TOLD them before 1.7 what their vehicle changes will cause, after that it took them 3 month to come up this nonsense and now you tell us that all of a sudden they will be able to solve that issue in a hotfix???? |

And if you're wondering what it is; I would point you to 1.8.s SDE which should be public by now. Why does this not surprise me at all? And "bigger fires"? Like what? Introducing the 100% militia fuel injector back into the game? Or removing Jihad LAV's which are like the only straw for infantry to kill tanks? Or are they busy with Eve adjusting the ship spinning inside a station? Ya know what? Give swarms their old 330 damage, 5 round clip and quicker lock on back. Give forgeguns their old damage and charge up time back and we could live with the current situation for a while. Buff the proto plasma cannon to 1700HP damage.

Hardly you can already do all that without the cloak and this did not really solve the issue, sure stupid pilots may fall to this tactic as they did before the cloak but whats the point they will simply call in another HAV...
The cloak won't be the holy grail of AV it will help in certain limited situations but the cloak won't change the overall dilemma. |

Learn how to work together and they are much, much easier, if I can do it with a PLC and mines/nades then it can be done. Everything shouldn't be able to be soloed, this is a team based game where good teamwork wins. HAVs are not that OP if at all, you people are just lazy and trained by other FPS games to Billy Bad Ass and that isn't how DUST works. Teamwork is the great equalizer. I still haven't seen a HAV that can survive a coordinated attack by a good squad/team that is skilled into AV.

Just give me back my Uprising 1.0 swarms back and increase their missile speed. Hell, you can even cut their range halfway between current and previous range. It will still be underpowered vs these super hardened/super repped tanks, but at least they will be viable again with the old 4 in a clip and the old missile damage plus the speed buff.

The current TANK vs AV imbalance and now continued AV nerf is failure on both the CPM and CCP.
Its just insulting to community.
Also IWS continues to prove why he should never be in a PR or damage control job...ever.
