Our community managers can only provide a month, which is like asking when dinner will be ready and being told, "Today sometime probably." We can pretty much count on 1.8 being pushed back to April at this point. The smart money is on April 1st because it's a Tuesday. Anyone for April 8th? "I need not food nor water. Especially since it took roughly 3 months to come up with the stuff we get in 1.8...

Visually, Destiny looks great, but everything else we have seen has been E3 footage and that makes me apprehensive about buying into the hype. After several EA launches I'm not judging any game until a month after it has launched. Planetside 2 is shite. Played it, and in comparison to Dust's flaws and bugs, I still enjoyed playing Dust far more than PS2. I don't know what it is about PS2 that I don't like. It just doesn't grab me. Maybe it's the New Eden universe that draws me to Dust and away from PS2. I'm not sure The Witcher 3 is going to really cut into Dust's demographic that much, to be honest. Plus Dust is F2P. People can return to it between games (spans of months between games, mind you) and find it with a new update or two. We've never gotten a release date until about a week before, so if we get patch notes (and a release date) within 1-2 days from now then March 18th is still on. I read that post actually. We shouldn't have to decipher cryptic community manager posts that hint at a possible patch day, maybe, hopefully. There should be a dev post sticked at the top of GD by now saying, "1.8 on 4/1, expect patch notes by 3/25. Devblogs to be released weekly starting 3/3." Or something very similar. Games that allow their players to be social typically have higher retention rates than games that don't. That's good business sense. You know what else is good business sense? In the past there's been a little mini-wave of PR before a patch release, haven't seen much so far. I support SP rollover.

They need to juggle new content, balance existing content, keep players happy, and keep themselves afloat. I believe that Dust was pushed to release too quickly and I still believe that it's not up to current standards. It is an amazing concept but the delivery doesn't fit today's market. People are used to fps's where patches are weekly, content is monthly, and they can complete all that needs to be done in a month. Dust is a far-sighted game and while I love it and how it works, more collaboration is needed between developers and players. We have a council that was put in place but no one had any say in who the members would be. Logibros are a dead breed and scouts are eaten for lunch. The meta needs to shift if the game is to survive to 2.0 Add the missing suits. Permit a single race and dropsuit change where weapons and upgrades are locked but dropsuit command is totally refunded so that players can try the new flavours. Keep the fanbase happy by letting us have some say in what really happens. Maybe let people come up with some designs? Companies rise and fall with their players, and while EVE is the moneymaker, Dust shouldn't become a second-class game Not hating, merely commenting
