I just think the only good sniper is a dead sniper... including you ;) You don't hardly ever die to sniper's because there are hardly any real snipers on anymore. The weapon is UP until you stack damage mods . Even then it is sub par vs proto suits. Combine that with ****** hit detection and server lag, crap zoom, and horrible rendering, combined with maps designed to not have any smart sniper locations.
If you do want to test your merrit, I can be found playing Caldari FW. There, I start in a suit with an uplink, and put up what is usually the only uplink on my side. I am often the only reason my side ever holds a point for some time.

Very high mobility (you can GTFO very quickly if need be, also easy to move with your targets) Passive scanning makes you hard to sneak up on if you keep an eye on your mini map In 1.8 they'll have 2 equipment slots
Personally, I think the suit you should pick is all about how you snipe. If you like to move around alot like me, go with a scout If you like to sit in one place or want a perch cloaser to the action, go commando.
Not really any reason to take an assault over either of the 2, unless a frontline perch is inaccessible with a commando. I prefer the high mobility and shadowing my squad/team. The issues that plaque snipers has caused me to find alternate routes of playstyles to best help my team. I often dropship pilot with a heavy suit with fluxes to reclaim highground from the enemy, getting kills and equipment destruction in the process. From there I usually switch out suits, and get back to the highground to deny enemy .

Well, as long as Sniper Rifles don't get nerfed, I'll still be using my scout suit for most of my sniping. |

Challenge accepted... but wait... are you a redline Thale sniper?? Because if you are, the only real counter is to be a sniper myself and I can't snipe for ****! If you do sneak out of your redline though or at least hide just inside the redline, I'll definitely be up for the hunt

Samantha Hunyz wrote:I believe damage mod changes are going to be bad for sniping. It currently takes 3 complex damage mods to score a single kill with the kaalakiota (the only true proto SR, (Thale is the best but not readily available)).
Honestly, I think damage mod changes are going to be bad for everything.
They aren't as good as their reputation would lead you to believe, and nerfing them would only increase TTK because currently idiots think they're better than shield extenders on every fit.
Damage Mods are not broken, they're not overpowered, they simply are. And nerfing them in any way makes them useless. DUST is going to go from fools using damage mods on everything, to absolutely no one using damage mods on anything.

If you do sneak out of your redline though or at least hide just inside the redline, I'll definitely be up for the hunt On smaller maps with highground around the outside, Ill start just out of the red till I see how my team is attacking. From there I move to higher risks spots based on tmy teams ability to push. On med to large maps, I'm usually on the map in odd spots if I can get to them from the start. In Cal fw, my side is usually redlined, which means I will be behind your team shooting them in the back.
