Why disable a repair tool? Just due to the fact that it's an equipment? Repair tools are powered from your suit. The same way your guns are. |

What other counter is there to the Rep Tool + Heavy combo? Other than zerging them? You can say "Shoot at the Logi!", but the Heavy will probably have you dead by then and even if you do manage to kill the +700HP Logi you still have the +1.2k HP Heavy to deal with.

Snipe the logi? Nade the logi? Shoot the logi?
You have one more guy wielding a gun than the other team. He can kill the logi. Also what makes you think that you can solo a tag team duo? Also the dps from any light weapon far outweighs what the logi can repair. |

Because it really takes that long to turn around. If you do get them from behind, and are lucky enough to kill the Logi, the Heavy is probably already facing you, hitting you with his HMG, and then you have to retreat rethink your route, and the- Oh forget about it, by that time the Logi has already spawned back in.

But again why turn off the repair tool? Which is powered by your suit. And not guns, which are powered by your suit.
Sniping is out of the question because this combo is usually used for point defend (CQC good luck getting 2-3 hits on that Logi with all that cover around and the buggy mess that is the Sniper Rifle)
Even if you do snipe the Logi, congratz, but you still have that Heavy to deal with, who has just taken cover, and is waiting 3-10s for that Logi to spawn back in with full health and ammo.

You didn't actually come out and say solo. But all of your posts references that you lack a teammate.
You don't zerg. Never even acknowledged it when I pointed out that another any other light weapon beats out the repair tool's repair rate. (extra teammate)
Or the fact that I said teamwork is OP? Do you have a second teammate helping you? Are you stupidly engaging in the HMG's kill range when you have a longer range weapon? Last I checked 2 is still greater than 1. Logis are people too.

Your dismissal of the advice given leads the reader to assume you want to solo a tag team, I find it strange that you cannot make that connection based on the conversation above.
Your question appears to be: How do you beat 2 players working together in CQC, utilizing the synergy of a high tank heavy fit being repaired from behind by a 175hp/s rep tool, held by a player in a medium tank logi fit.
The answers so far have been: - Kill the logi first, using sniper, grenade, or any other means available, including flanking. (preferred method)
- DPS the heavy down using a medium weapon, and/or grenades, in an attempt to out dps the repair tool. (difficult, but doable)
- Remote Explosives (and yes they can take down some heavies, since remotes do 1500 damage... proto tanked heavies will be left with a sliver of health after eating a remote) (difficult again, but doable)
- Zerg them (last resort tactic, but effective nonetheless.. bring a revive needle.. because someone will probably die)
This is called a debate, and just like how you apparently cant win an engagment playing solo against a logi/heavy combo, you will not win this debate because your argument is flawed. It is flawed because there are ways to counter this combo, its just not going to be "easy". This combo is specifically designed to be used in CQC.. it does not work well in medium or long range, at all.
So there you go... I was looking for instructions online for the game "rock, paper, scissor" but I couldn't find any.. sorry.

And I never said I wanted to take them solo, just that there should be an easier way of dealing with them other than requireing a group of players.
Dealing with them doesn't nessacerily mean 'Killing' them it just means supressing them so you can do other things like deal with other enemies or destroy Uplinks / Rep Hives.
Flux Nades need more uses, this is one of them. Why should the Rep Tool be the only EQ immune to a Flux Nade?

as a heavy who used to swear on locus but came back to a firecracker rather than gernade promptly switched to fluxes and runs them constantly
i have always thought that fluxes should effect more than deployed eqp and sheilds
i miss the days i could get a kill with fluxes
so im all behind it effecting rep tols but not neccesarily just cut it off
when you flux an active rep tool make it do like a "sputter" and stop for aprox >2 seconds

Blah, when you make a blatant statement like "Why should the Rep Tool be the only EQ immune to a Flux Nade?" you force me to correct your failed logic/argument.
Of course the revive needle doesn't need a counter, lol. And the rep tool requires a player to do absolutely nothing but repair. They cant shoot, cant drop other equipment, cant sprint, cant even throw a grenade without completely stopping the repair.
I think you have earned this now...
