Are our clones personalized to our original DNA or do we use stock clones? If we use stock clones then why do we have male and female clones? If the clones are personalized than how do you explain how CRUs work? How much does a clone cost? They seem to cost a lot when looking at how much they sell for in PC, but how come we don't pay for that in other battles? Are the costs of our clone covered in the overall expense of our dropsuits and fittings? If not, than who is paying for our clones? Are the corps that hire us paying for them? Like Roden Shipyards, Blood Raiders, Quafe, Imperial Guard, etc? Or are we paying for them with some hidden expense that is not shown but docked from our contract payout?
And perhaps most importantly What magical mystical power is allowing a clone to animate itself from a null cannon?

I have often wondered about the cost of clones myself but just assumed that the cost was covered by the cost of your fittings... though now that you mention it the corps and factions paying for the clones could explain the clone cap in the matches

I would guess the employers provide the clones in public and faction contracts, just like they provide the war barge and MCC. Seems kind of weird then that they provide the clones but we provide everything that goes on the clone. Especially say when you consider the Amarr medium dropsuit which needs to be drilled into the spinal chord of the clone in order to operate. And also I'm leaning towards the idea that our clones are personalized opposed to stock clones, which would also seem sort of weird for these employers to be providing us with our personalized clones.

And you can argue that in PC you can have higher clone caps, but then I'd counter and say that the warbarges that go around in public contracts are likely planning to hit several districts before coming back to restock so they have to allocate only a portion of their clone reserves to each battle.

I'll be honest here, the first bunch of questions are all sincere questions regarding lore but that last question was more of a play on the fact that I dislike the spawn-on-point mechanic in skirmish and believe you should rely on CRUs and uplinks like in Domination.

They are all stock clones. How could they be anything else when you can clone jump anywhere in the galaxy?
Think about it.
The game ignores clone cost in all but PC because it would bankrupt players otherwise. Yes, your fitting is free, but you owe 180K for each of those 12 clones you lost this match, Mr Newberry. |

True, but it takes days to grow a clone while you decide where to fight within a minute of battle. When is all this custom clone growing supposed to take place? |

they're not very personalized. there might be some variation between the different races production methods and genetics and whatever, but they're not like capsuleers clones. a merc's clone only lives for 4 days or so and then it needs to reclone.
the cost of clones is kind of in flux right now. hopefully someday they'll be traded on the market and have a real value.
the cost in other battles is covered by the faction that put up the contract hat you're fighting.
no, the dropsuits and fittings are a different cost.

"Starting with the Military Grade Clone, the core of every dropsuit, is constructed out of high quality biomass laced with nanites. The clone design itself is complete with many military decisions such as redundancy to prevent body failure and shock, enhanced skeletal and muscular strength, improved endurance, efficient metabolism, dulled pain senses and additional organs to support nanite use and bodily fabrication to help suppliment any additional augmentations that allow drop suit porting where needed. Encasing the innards of the clone is a bio-engineered titanium-ion based skeleton to keep the clone lightweight and strong. Despite all the liberties taken in designing these nearly two and a half meter tall monsters, have still have a very human physiology. This feature makes conscious transferal into this 'blank body' easy and sensible even if the previous body was the one that consciousness was born in. Early development of these miltiary grade clones was only available in a male gender which has impacted several early female test subjects to the program. This was later corrected shortly before the battle of Caldari prime when the military specs where fully matched in a female physic ."

The only problem I have with stock clones is that it becomes too easy to lose your identity and have no one able to tell the difference between you and the next guy aside from what you say and what you do. If that were the case, then you'd need to create a visual identity with what you wear, meaning personalized dropsuits meaning the promised paint shop.
