So, ignoring any comparison to other classes, just looking at the logistics class, the upcoming racial bonuses to single type of equipment are unbalanced and seem like an unfinished thought.
Now, an actual logi should in most circumstances be carrying multiple types of equipment to make for a balanced support class, and that is what most logis do, and will continue to do in 1.8. However, the specialization that CCP seems to be wanting to drive us towards will be in many cases if not strictly necessary, then at least encouraged in any sort of competitive play (lol what little there is of that in Dust).
So looking at the different races: a Caldari logi can always benefit not only themselves but their team by carrying several sets of nanohives, and many will be encouraged to do so simply because, for example, the non bonused rep hives that could be deployed by others will not be all that amazing after the equipment nerf. An Amarr Logi carrying multiple sets of links will not be a rare sight to see, no matter how unsuited some consider that particular suit for actually effectively deploying those links, the racial bonus will make the links deployed by the Amarr Logi the most desirable on the field. A Gallente logi gets a bonus to active scanners, but not to their cooldown, which will be drastically increased with the equipment nerf... so carrying multiple scanners is useful even when when you don't consider how much it makes sense to carry different types for range, scout hunting etc.
So... a Minmatar logi carrying multiple rep tools makes as much sense as all of the above? Right? RIGHT?
Have you considered installing the improved keyboard?

For example with Minmatar logis, It's not that you'd carry multiple Reppers... You'd still carry uplinks and whatever else as well. You;d just be a bad ass at repping.
The real question is.. if minmatar are the best at repping armor and vehicles presumably.. where the fuk are the minmatar vehicles?

Now specializing is an option, before there was almost no need to specialize in one type of equipment.
Sure you could only run hives as a Caldari and you'll be amazing in that role, better than anyone else could hope to be. However, you lose that Swiss army knife approach. In instances where you need some other equipment you'll have zero effectiveness.
Compare to a logi who continues too run multiple equipment. He may be less effective at reviving or resupply but he is useful in more situations. And he's still pretty good with his racial equipment. |

I doubt in the heat of battle many people will think about this. They spawn nearest to their closest target. Nanohives? Seriously? Nobody willa ctually be able to distinguish which hives were put down by a Caldari and which were not. People will use the ones they were closest to. If people think it's desireable to carry more than one of each equipment with them because this kind of equipment profits from their suit then so be it. After all they can do it and there's not a single thing wrong with that. Of course they sacrifice variability for it. But that doesn't mean everybody will.

from eve: gallente = close range armor tanking caldari = long range shield amarr = lazzzooorrr armor minmatar = duct tape ships (that use shields, since there are 2 armour and 1 shield)
can someone explain me why minmatar got the rep bonus?

If they were to do it right, the bonuses should be on the equipment skills themselves with maybe even equipment proficiency just like weapons, and not the suits.
But then again it's CCP. Each suit is getting something specific to their racial items, whether it be upgrades to weapons, resistances, or even just things those suits use.
Besides, I thought you were a good logi...no? You should know that using more than one of an equipment makes your logi suit much less effective (unless it's just an uplink/nanohive spamming one, in that case it's actually just exploiting game mechanics)
And on top of it all, the repair tool is getting the smallest nerf of all the equipment. You didn't even take that into account. The only thing they're doing is limiting the range on the thing if you're not minmatar. That means that other racial suits with more HP have to stick closer to their targets, while the minmatar with lower HP can stay farther back and use cover while repping from range. The only repair tool to get a nerf in health repaired is the core focused.

I've said it so many times already... racial suits should not be play styles in and of themselves. To stop this "slayer logi" BS they penalize true logi's. Which is going to make our already hard job even harder. So I'm just suppose to scan? Or branch into all 4 racial suits to have something as the need arises? This is fair and balanced? |

Well duh! A good one for my friends and a weak one for those blueberries... also 2 injectors. 80% for the squad and 30% for farming the berries.
No. It doesn't make sense. In addition the Core focused rep tool range has been nerfed so hard that it will ONLY be usable by a level 5 minmatar logi. It's the only piece of equipment I've noticed that will really only be usuable by one race and class. |

That's a link to my spreadsheet on the new equipment stats and what is getting a nerf/buff before and after the bonuses are applied. Maybe that will help you understand the situation better.

More QQ from Logi's about how they'll have a better role but won't have the same standards for equipment a that we do now.
Specialization in a race's equipment is the reason for these changes. If you guys all use equipment the same, what's the point for different suits?
True Logi's shouldn't be bitching here. You'll become more valuable since you can do equipment better than your assault or scout counterpart.
Before 1.8, a scout was the best user of links, everyone carries a scanner(probably still will after), etc. I cans currently Logi like a Logistics suit without the suit. The only thing I can't match is the number of equipment you can carry.

The nanaohives are getting their nano supply nerfed unless you are caldari. So non-caldari will find their nanohives running out much quicker...while the caldari bonus restores their nano capacity to 1.7 levels, and gives them an even faster resupply and repair rate.
I could go on but by now you should be able to see the way it is. You have the freedom to choose what you want to use, but certain suits use those items better. That's what CCP wants to do, and I like it. Please read the whole post before replying... particularly the second paragraph.
But I'm glad I gave you a chance to get in your daily amount of being condescending, I hope it made you feel good about yourself.
