I use a standard rail rifle on all my fittings now. Versus my level 5 prof 5 AR.

Don't you even. The CR is like the shotgun with sharpshooter from Chromosome. I think it's fine though because most people can't aim and to be honest it's not any worse than the Scrambler Rifle.

the RR is super op and the CR is kinda OP, the SCR has the potential to be OP but because it's so hard to use its kinda balanced, unless in the hands of a turbo controller. The AR is the UP gun, worst DPS and worst range, when it should be the second best DPS, next to the SCR, and worst range.
Armor and Shields are not the same!

I just leveled my AR to 5. Sigh. I cant remeber the last GEK that killed me. Used to get shotguns to the face, flayloks to the groin, ARs from afar, and an occasional scrambler death. Now its RR all the time. RRs and tanks, 9/10 of my deaths. I'd love be run over by a murder taxi at this point.

I just upgraded to a breech AR from a bpo AR. Never touched a combat or rail. I guess I'm just a scrub. I am a pretty good logi though, I have even though about not using a weapon just to play a different way. There have been plenty of matches that I never fire a shot but lead the board between both sides. I love beating someone who goes 20+/0 with a 0/4 run.

I hope CCP gives a respec in 1.8 to weapons and does not buff the AR. Then waits 1 month and buffs the AR/nerfs the long range weapons

The CR and RR are certainly equal.
RR pluses: best range and full auto fire at range. Assault variant is great at CQC and mid range.
RR minuses: is serviceable at CQC but I would rather have any of the other racial rifles. Staggaring difference between Prof 1 and prof. 5
CR pluses: devastating at CQC and midrange. 95%/110% shield/armor makes it well versatile against all racial armors. Lowest CPU and PG cost. Good range
CR minuses: more of an SP investment (needs sharpshooter to reach full potential). Placing rounds on target at mid-long range is more difficult than RR (at least for a scrub like me). Low damage per round means you need to accurately place more rounds on target.
Most tankers are like sand people. They frighten easily, but will quickly return...and in greater numbers.

All 4 rifles are OP, skilled AR users (SP invested and good at the game) are still killing with the AR not incessantly complaining in thread after thread on the forums.
Sorry the AR is not better than everything else anymore, sorry you put so much SP into it. Skill into one of the other rifles, you can use more than one you know. I have a couple million into MD, I think I have as much right to QQ as anybody but its not worth it and it will come back around, I've skilled into other things. Good players find a way to make almost anything work in this game, chase the FotB if you want easy mode, play with what you like and stop caring so much if you just want to use what you want to use.

When the RR and CR came out I remember just getting killed by a basic RR when I was using a proto AR and I was just destroyed and sure there's the occasional AR kills I get but not after I have been killed by a RR or CR of any kind for the 15th time in a row. Those two guns are OP but the people that know this are all taking advantage of the situation and making "cleaver" arguments about how the RR and the CR are not OP and people are just making a big deal of something stupid. So if your one of the people that makes those comebacks go ahead and quote me and say how stupid my comment is I don't mine eventually CCP will nerf the RR and CR it's just a matter of time now. |
