Seriously though, hipfiring a rail rifle is comparable to an HMG DPS wise.

I agree, I use it now and its total eazy mode, I just use a standard with no damage mods and I melt everyone, at medium range there screwed, at close range I just hipfire and they are still screwed.
If you need anything more than a standard rail rifle to get kills, then you must suck really bad at this game.
It is extremely OP.
Because its full auto, even people with bad aim can slay with it, the combat rifle is only dangerous if the wielder can aim. |

Combat rifle > rail rifle.
Dat 90 dmg burst is the most OP thing in dust besides core locus nades and tanks.
On the OP level scale,
10- Tanks
9- CR
8- RR
6- Core Nades

It's a CQC weapon, so it's supposed to deal tons of damage.
All of the rifles are OP in terms of TTK, but in terms of actual performance:

The CR definitely has the potential to be OP. I don't honestly think it is UP, though I listened to AR scrubs scream and shout that there was nothing wrong with the AR, so now they should be forced to listen to us scream and shout that there is nothing wrong with our Racial Rifles.
In all honesty, the idea behind the rail rifle to me is just ridiculous, highest damage per shot and longest range? Pass that this way, seriously, I would still advocate for the damage profiles and range profiles to be the inverse of one another.
Range: RR > SR > CR > PR
Damage: PR > CR > SR > RR
The farther away you can be and still have efficacy, you should have a lesser amount of damage per shot since if they are infantry, they need to make up that range to get to their own range. Though if I can get up close and personal with one of the closer range variants, I should melt you but I need to effectively be in your face (not quite as bad as the shotgun but not too much farther than the SMG). It just makes sense to me.

as much as I love CR. CR = balanced.
RR need a hip fire nerf... their dispersion should be as bad as the HMG before spooling.

i choose minmatar, but just don't wanna admit it cuz i love the gun and don't want CCp to call the grimm reaper and slash my combat rifle til its lower than the flaylock
