1. Its a cqc pistol ( has the shortest range ) so a longer range side arm would be more useful
2. Its useless. Normal shots are outclassed by scrambler pistols. Charged shot is useless since it cant OHK most suits ,it overheats after one shot, and the breach scrambler headshots do more damage and shoot much faster |

I wouldn't quite say Scrambler Pistol is flat out better than Ion Pistol just yet. The effective range is changing from 55 effective to 50 so there might be other things in the works for it but who know. But for mixing it with the shotgun, I wouldn't want a Ion pistol just because of the shorter range. If they are close enough for the Ion Pistol to be most effective, I would think just Sprinting at them with a shotgun would work well.
Bolt Pistol looks interesting. 45 Optimal and 60 Effective is really quite strong and the damage is very high. I think it would be a good partner to the shotgun as it covers its deficiencies nice. Magsec SMG might also be cool though it doesn't cover the range gap quite like the Bolt Pistol and I am sure it will be much less accurate of a weapon. |

I Imagine its the Long Range Deagle from hell.
OP for a sidearm perhaps, but should be fine. Probably will be hellaciously useful for niche people without a solid Short to Mid-Range weapon.
DUST is a half decent game.

No, the Bolt Pistol. I know of the Mag Sec, but the Bolt Pistol is also full-auto.

The thing about the new pistols is that they will more than likely become irrelevant to most people,seeing as they can't even use the scramblers.
I love the scrambler pistols,and will try out the new ones,but true pistol users in this game are kind of few and far between,so I'm not very worried about any of them.
Honestly though,I doubt that either the bolt or the ion will be better for me than my trusty TT-3. |

I love the idea of the bolt pistol, six shooter and all. But the TT-3 is just too powerful to ignore, and like you, I can't image it being better (heaven help us if it is)

Given the current listed stats, I've got a feeling the Bolt Pistol is gonna be the new FOTM sidearm (a la Flaylock). Which is actually kind of unfortunate, since as a primary HMG user, I've been waiting for a long-ranged sidearm forever.

I'm a little worried about the Magsec for the same reasons. But the Bolt just does so much damage per shot...at some crazy ranges. I think (for some reason) CCP has yet to realize how valuable range is in an FPS.
Also, the current proposed version of Cloaks doesn't allow firing while cloaked.

Given the fact that it's apparently full-auto, with a charge time, it doesn't really seem like a revolver to me. Honestly the ScP feels more like a revolver than the Bolt.
