I know everyone will hate this. But I wish that Logi's passive Repairer would be taken. This would prevent the fake "Logi"s who are really slayers and honestly should be running assault. Give All Logi Suits a 1hp armor repair passively. Just like Minmatar assault now. This will promote the use of Armor repair instead of stacking full plates. Also a reduction in PG to the Repair module would make repair more feasible, as nobody nowadays uses armor Repair modules due to the high PG and the fact that logistic suits already have a repairer. Instead make the Logi Skill give a reduction to PG/CPU usage like the Gallente Racial logi bonus! It will create more true logistics, and with the coming of heavy suits, it will redefine logistics class as a true triage unit.

First off, did you actually bump your topic after 10 MINUTES?
#2, that's not what makes logi's useful as killer bee suits, but they are already taking away that bonus in 1.8 anyway.. Read moar dev topics. (and yes, a lot of people do hate it)

Haven't really found anything on Logi Changes for 1.8. I just know hacking for Min Logi will change because scout bonus is hacking, meaning scouts are to be the hackers from here on.

I have no words for this...I am a full proto logi full full proto logi gear. I have been since Chrom. I was next to useless in Chrom even with a proto suit and proto mods. Why? I had crap all for health and no mid range weapon that was effective. Then we got some health boosts and suddenly I was viable in a fight and I could survive long enough to make it to a downed comrade and stick him.
You cut logi hitpoints or repping ability and you make logi's less viable across the board.
You make logi's less viable we die more often.
We die more often then you don't get stuck and repped as often.
If that happens you don't get as many warpoints
If you don't get as many warpoints then the forums explode with complaints.
And the viscous cycle is complete.

I guess technically it hasn't been spelled out definitively that the rep bonus is going away, but considering they didn't disagree with the new bonuses Aeon Amadi found on singularity, most of us assume that it is going away.
Personally I'd like to see some kind of defensive bonus or attribute to the logi suits, maybe just a straight up inherent armor rep like the gallente scout is going to get for the armor-based suits, and something like higher shield regen or a shorter delay for the shield tankers. Maybe we will, who knows, but I

Something Like shield recharge delay skill at like 3% per skill for caldari and minmatar, and armor regen for Amarr and Gallente who need it due to their high pool of armor

Don't get me wrong I love me some givin of my logi love and the points it brings. But I don't like all the slayers is all. I think a Logi should be a healer first. Assault should be the true killers, as well as heavies, and then scouts. I'm a healer first, then a killer :)

Logistics by definition is the operations dealing with the procurement, supply, and maintenance of equipment, with the movement, evacuation, and hospitalization of personnel, with the provision of facilities and services, and with related matters. Medics is just one part of logistics. We could be suppressive fire, resupply and many other roles other than medics. I personally am a medic.

This argument again. GTFO it . Who are you to determine who is a GÇ£realGÇ¥ logi versus a GÇ£fakeGÇ¥ logi? Last time I checked, ultimately we are all infantry and more than likely going to be put into the situation to kill, murder, and maim.
Hell even in the military during our contemporary times every soldier is infantry first, then their primary MOS after.
I run Amarr Logi, and as far as I can tell, logistics is those that support the frontline operations of a unit. I pick up bodies, provide target intel, and ammunition. Seems that is being a logi. But at the same time I typically drop anywhere from 5-25 enemyGÇÖs and assist in the elimination of 5-15 others.
That seems like I am a GÇ£trueGÇ¥ logi.
So again, where do you get this idea of GÇ£trueGÇ¥ logi, if not from the fact that you are jumping on the band wagon, implementing a cognitive short-cut because you donGÇÖt want to do any cognitive heavy lifting, like looking at the world around you outside of the lines in the coloring book. Another thread that is nothing more than a waste of space and time.

I am stating that taking away my regen will break my tank as effectively as if they were cutting my health. I stack AT LEAST two complex armor reps on my PROTO LOGI SUIT and it is STILL NOT ENOUGH when THE ONLY thing I am focused on is keeping people alive and at full health. NOT ENGAGING THE ENEMY. I NEED my ALLIES to do that for me so that I can keep them ALIVE.
I CANNOT do that if my tank is affected in a negative manner. Personally, unless you have tried to be an actual logi in an actual logi healbot role I cannot believe that you understand the difficulties that role brings.

This is already planned to be implemented, at least from what I've seen.
Also seen something curious, certain gallente suits, the sentinel and the scout so far, have show to have passive armor repair, where no other suit does. Specs are still works in progress and we still have seen nothing on the assaults and logies but if the trend follows there may be passive armor repair on at least gallente logies, great for me :D
Say what you might about logies being used properly and how they should act or have their suits fitted, I've been a logi since day one and I'm a very good shot and can usually outgun most enemies, hell since I started using the combat rifle I can take down protos with basic gear, does that make me a bad logi? No, I to this day have never used a logistics suit that wasn't completely full of equipment and as long as I am able I use the equipment every chance I get. My gun and my proficiencies are just another tool that I use to keep my team alive, and the passive armor repair is a tool that keeps me alive so I can continue to do my job.
I will be a little disheartened when the passive armor repair is gone, but I will just deal with it and keep using logistics. This change will affect others more than it affects me because I don't use these suits for their offensive capabilities I use them to keep my team fed and stocked, and if I can't survive then that means less reps and ammo for everyone else, I fully agree that logies should play more of a defensive role than offensive but if that's the case then we need a way to defend ourselves.
I don't know much about eve but from what I hear, logi ships are very tanky but have barely any offensive capabilities, but also that because of this everyone targets the logi ships first, I predict this dynamic will be entering this game as all other suits will be getting very big changes that bring them into their niche, it will be up to them taking advantage of their new power to defend the guys who are trying to keep them alive. In short, if there are any heavies around, start practicing being bullet shields for your friendly neighborhood logi!

It's not in the devtopics, the info on logies was taken from leaked info that came out of eve's test server, the skill changes are as follows.
Sentinels get blast damage reduction (5% per level) and specific gun damage reduction versus specific health (ie 3% laser weaponry damage vs shields, 2% railgun damage vs armor, per level)
Commandos get race specific damage bonuses (2% increase of laser weapons for amarr commandos) not sure of other skills
Assaults get increased rate of fire, not sure of other skills
Scouts get bonuses towards cloaks (up to 75% reduction in pg and cpu cost) as well as some other passive scanner or speed bonuses (increased profile dampening for gallente, increased scanner range for caldari, etc)
Logies get 25% reduction to pg and cpu costs of equipment across the board and race specific buffs to equipment (gallente gets more intensity and duration out of scanners, minmatar gets better repairs, caldari gets better nanohives, amarr gets longer lasting and faster drop uplinks).
And yes they're planning on bringing out all racial variants of all suits in 1.8.

Also worthy of note is that even with all the current skills at Proto level (I know, I have them, and when I say "all" I mean everything in both the suit/race and in Dropsuit upgrades to V) a Logistics suit carrying prototype equipment in all of it's equipment slots cannot fit a full slate of proto mods, let alone proto mods + weapon. In fact it will only barely fit a full set of mods for each slot with the majority of the (non-equipment) slots being filled by MLT/STD gear.
If there is a true and deep concern about "slayer logi" the simple fix is to require some (or all?) of the equipment slots to be filled in order to create a valid fit.

Then you've got it all wrong, Logistics isn't a heal slave, it's a jack of all trades suit. Admitting the Rep bonus isn't needed, but it's getting removed in 1.8. |
