If that is the case then, no.
Sniping is very easy in this game.. no bullet drop, crosshairs turn red when you are on your target, minimal foliage or terrain for people to hide behind (lots of wide open spaces) pretty much every map is a bowl with elevated positions all over the place, etc etc etc.
Just... no.
I don't want a buff. Just fix hit detection and rendering issues.

I'll repeat myself: The issue with sniper rifles is how they are balanced against suit tiers; it's rather easy to OHK a person in militia/standard gear while still being little more than a nuisance to a proto/heavy suit. In essence, we're forced to feed on the weakest players while being little more than annoyances to the proto crowd.
To be honest, I'm not entirely sure of what can be done to remedy the situation. I'll take a sniping position if I'm able to cover at least one node from a position of relative safety (i.e. redline or edge of the map) but asking me to get closer to the battle...that's hard to do when I'm restricted to a sidearm as my only means of self-defense, seeing as to how the game doesn't enable you to hip-fire the SR with any idea of where you're actually shooting. Give me something--even if it's a reticule the size of the HMG's--to at least give me an estimation of where my shot might go.
Life is killing me.

I'd be all for 1 hit kills from sniper headshots... If sniping from the redzone was dealt with... As someone who's played a sniper in many games including this one, increasing the range would be a terrible idea, why should you be able to easily headhost someone from somewhere off the map... Come join the battle if you want to get a better shot... Also if the sidearm isn't something you like to shoot with (SMG's are the boss at close range) you can always go commando (not taking yer pants off) and bring something else with you. |

Put a dot (or a little piece of tape or a little piece of clear tape with a dot) on your TV. Make sure the dot is smaller than the ADS dot so you can still see it turn red. Problem solved. Also, the SMG is a beast at CQC. |

I lol'd in real life...
Saw a video a looongg time about about how ridiculously inaccurate sniper rifles are when hip firing.. like its a complete crapshoot where the bullet will go and nowhere near the center dot of the reticule.
Put a piece of tape on your screen.. bwahahaha.
I think someone said to do that one day when he was trying to help someone be better with the HMG.

Sniper Rifles certainly need love. I very much agree with you on that point. Though I wouldn't consider Academy-based experimentation either a reliable or convincing means of proving this point. w-wait, so that thing that leaves me with 100 armor dragging me to hell need love? Come on! It's a point and click weapon! there's not even a proper falloff and/or travel time (yes, I know there is, but it's insanely high)
What weapon isn't a "point and click" weapon?

Testing proto weapons and vehicles in the academy is like doing genetic testing on newborn babies. That's some sick twisted ****.

It's a point and click weapon! there's not even a proper falloff and/or travel time (yes, I know there is, but it's insanely high) Sniper rifle projectiles travel at 2500m/s, the travel time and falloff is pretty negligible when we're talking about no more than 400-450m. More likely it's 100-300m so it's even less.
When I play as a sniper, I'm more likely to be nearer to the opponents redline than my own.
