On the contrary. I'd spam harder to compensate for the deficit.
Happily printing ISK with permahardeners and MLT blasters.
Just let me get a couple mil more before nerf, CCP!

This doesn't cut down on the uplink spam too much. The rep tool thing just baffles me though.
I mostly pissed about the scanner change because I am a Gallente Logi. Hopefully the new bonus will be 10% per level reduction in cooldown time.

Tallen Ellecon wrote:... the equipment got nerfed. Every single one. This hits me hard in the logi balls. I've maxed out every piece of equipment and now I'm losing the effectiveness of my niche. The only reason why I'm reluctant to call it a nerf is because there is no competition for each equipments role just it's useage in general over stacking highs and lows.
Support Logis as far as we know just got hit hard. But there is still hope that this was done in order to prepare for something that hasn't been confirmed yet, which is medium suit changes.
We all know of the possible role bonuses Logis will get towards equipment which I am a strong supporter of. The cooldown nerf (and I mean nerf) will mean that even with a possible Gallente Logi bonus it will be very difficult to detect cloaked enemies, which may have been the point.
I also would hope that equipment skills will also have a passive bonuses for those who are serious about it.
If there isn't a way to bring equipment back to where it was with bonuses the battlefield will change radically.
Let's just hope the medium suit stats come out soon...... like a day or two soon. You got my hopes up with the Gallente Heavies and the Ion pistol, and you just shot them down with the scanner nerf.
I should have seen it coming... but it had a cloak on and I had to wait 40 seconds. yep... f'n sux.

Also these changes greatly cut down on the equipment spam and all those twats slandering the Gallente by standing on top of 4 triage hives with a Logistics suit to abuse a mechanic.
Now Caldari will be the ones that will make Nanohives really shine.
Now Amarr will be the ones to make Uplinks shine
Now Gallente will be the ones to make scanners hard to get pass
and Minmatar will have the longest range out of the repair tools.
I see no problem with this.
Although it would be cool it every race got their own version of at least some of the most basic equipment like ammo re-supplier and repair. Everything else is specialized equipment.
An Ammo Crate for Minmatar, solely for ammo only, bonus resupply rate/quantity for projectile weapons, very low PG requirement, no CPU needed.
A Logistics drone for Gallente, suppliers ammo and armor and specializations for either of the two . It doesn't even have to be an aerial drone, take the Mule as an example.
Some kind of deployable tent for the Amarr to pray in for more ammo and health, and then they die. |

the scanner one was called for but everything else ,1 step forward and 2steps back
I'll take it.
No need to clarify why I support the Scanner...
The Rep Tool range had the potential to be just crazy with the Minmatar's bonus. If they didn't change. Minmatar players would've been able to rep while staying out of harms way completely.
Spawn time increase for Uplinks is good to stop the flooding in of players. It's not that much of a loss since it'll affect the whole game entirely not just a specific group(like how Rep Tools only affect Logis and Armor Tankers).
Nanohive Nanite reduction is good for stopping grenade spam and a constant re-supply of ammo. Sometimes it seems a nanohive will last all game and that doesn't really make it fun...Although if it's too low it can be pretty ineffective.

Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

I can live with all of those, it doesn't change the logi function. Scanners need to be changed, this one seems pretty good. |

Wallhack 514 still exists. It's just that it can only be done passively with scouts now. Which is fine, since passive scans with huge range (70-100m) and low precision (17-26dB) are ridiculously strong. Add in a cloak to make up for your lack of HP when you have to leave cover, and you become a golden god of sneaking death. |

With the equipment bonuses there's going to be more reason than ever to have support logis on your team rather than slayer logis. With the nerfs higher end gear and the logi suit bonuses become very valuable. I think the rep tool range nerf wasn't needed, but hives, uplinks and scanners will probably be good changes.
The scanner change makes the gallente logi by far the most effective scanner in the game without it being omniscient. |

Your logi will still do all the equipment, but only one type particularly well.
Why is it took nearly the entire first page before someone with their thinking cap came along? This... 100 times over. What is the point of different bonuses if each Logi suit runs at 100% efficiency? Nano hives already last a long time. The Amarr bonuses would be pointless if current nano hives are already supplying a squad for the entire match. CCP is adding consequence to your choices now. You aren't just a support or assault Logi anymore, you have to choose which equipment you want to maximize.
Why the outcry and surprise? Eve has had this forever. You wouldn't bring a Caldari Logi ship to rep an Amarr Battleship. I can't wait for the day where entire squads are built around what their Logi can rep. It will add so much depth seeing squads drop as armor, and change to shield squads based on battlefield conditions. Going to be awesome! |

Scanners did need to be fixed, but I'm more concerned about the other equipment.
With the equipment nerf, will they perform any better than they do now?
If I have a MinLogi with a repair tool, will the repair range be the same as now, or will it be longer?
If not, then this idea is garbage and CCP should feel bad about it.

Nerfing all the equipment and giving "bonuses" for one to each race so they get back to about where they are now is an overall nerf to the support Logi class. All other classes are getting real bonuses, ones that make them better than they are today.
In the end it won't make much of a difference other than to make the support Logi an even deeper SP sink than it is today, and that's saying something.
The Support Logi will have to proto out the Amar and Caldari for deployable equipment, and Galentee if they want to scan. The Minmitar is useless as its "bonus" is really a WP nerf and they are too weak to run as frontline medics anyway.
My deployment suits are already fitted by function, so the only difference is that they will be different races as well as different equipment. So it's another two months grind for each race. |

Okay to be fair I wouldn't mind these changes so much if I knew what they were doing to the medium suits. If there is an incentive to make logi a better choice for equipment oriented players and assaults for combat oriented players, I could be content since all equipment was gimped. As a Gallnete Logi I will (possibly) be the only one to make full use of the scanner and have the best chance of detecting cloaked units outside of the Caldari scout.
The scanner needed a fix, and the 360 things was ridiculous, my biggest complaint is the Duvolle focused. All cloaked scout are invisible even to proto scanners and the Duvolle focused is the only one that can still see them. All a scout has to do is be either Gallente or have a basic profile dampener and they are completely unscanable. So even the most powerful, most expensive, scanner which already has a 40 second recharge still won't be able to detect a cloaked scout. If the Gallente bonus doesn't apply to either cooldown or precision then no one will be able to detect cloaked units. Again maybe the cloak mechanics will answer questions.
Over 30,000 ISK (proto cloaker is less than 10,000) 60 degree FOV 18 PG!!! 38 CPU ( 5 second light up 40 second cooldown Just to detect anyone but a cloaked scout with a basic profile dampner.
