Of all of these. The minmatar is the only one that makes sense to me.The Gallente, more or less...
Why not just use Med frames for the Caldari tanked and Amarr Tanked?

Yes.
The Caldari scout is, imo, superior to the Calassault unless the Calassault gets a buff due to the massive regen potential. It can also evade scans, has a decent onboard passive scanner, and moves quickly in addition to the cloak. All of these are great things.

Again, the Amarr one is faster than an Amarr assault, evades scans, has a cloak, etc. The idea is to ghost in, put down hives, kill everything, and ghost out to restock again. Strafing in rep hives is powerful stuff - with a scout strafe it will be even better.

The Gallente one is mostly a combat one, but capitalising on the in-built stuff a little more.

I want to know whats what SCOUTS used in UPRISING pre 1.8.
Scouts are changing.
We are getting Buffs and Cloaks.
We will get a lot of new people playing as scouts, but the original scouts will probably always be stronger.

Its no secret to my friends i just LOVE E-War. Sadly i was convinced speed tanking combat scout was the way to go when the first SP reset came,and i chose Minmatar Scout over Gallente. Never the less this did not stop me.
At first i was happy using Active scanners on all my Med frames , specially logis and my Amarr + SCR combination. But then i noticed something while I was being scanned. There IS , something no Med frame can EVER take away from a scout.Doesnt matter the slots. The Combination of Speed and E-War. a Med frame can only imitate one of these at the time but not BOTH at the time. With the MOST Passive Scan Range, Best Scan Precision and best profile dampening skills the scouts ARE unparalleled in both passive scanning and avoiding scans.

'' why bother if A.Scanners are accessible, affordable and have overall better preformance than passive scanning?''
The answer is simple. When you Activley scan someone, they get a message that says:
''YOU HAVE BEEN SCANNED'' and a non readable part: '' REDS INCOMING''
Passive scanning DOES NOT ALERT your enemies. This in combination to Profile dampening are what scouts are ABOUT!
I cannot even begin to count all the ''tanked scouts'' ive seen.Running aroudn with numbers as high as 700HP! WTH! And still,when i passive scan them feel sorry for them,because their HP,Shotgun and Speed wont help them if they cant find me and i know where they are all the time....
Overall, even with 190HP.... My Best games have been with this suits, my highest score , was with this suit in the Labs.

CALDARI SCOUT in 1.8:

AND ...this is why my first suit in 1.8 will be the Caldari Scout.
I can use 2 ENH/CX Precision enhancers at proto level, plus 2 complex shield extenders. Profile Dampener (Cx if possible) and Complex Range amplifier. The weapons can be STD level for all i care. All these modules PLUS the inherent bonus of the caldari scout (+25% Scan precision and 25% Profile dampening) will make my caldari scout one of the most powerful E-war units in Dust. Finally ,to put the cherry on top, i would still have around 380 shields and 87 armor....AND a Cloaking device plus (if possible) R/E.....

Why do i share the loadout i have been thinking for since i read the patch notes?
I want to encourage scouts, to BE scouts in 1.8.
100-200 more HP wont make a difference when you total EHP is below 400. we all know this.Then why keep pushing towards HP when thats is NOT our role, plus not the role we want?
Give E-War a try.
Give Speed tanking another try.
Give Melee another try.
Those modules are not as useless as they look like....

Believe me .
MOST people say Active scanners are a CRUTCH. Hell, i said this for a long time...

But after you see your enemies in your radar ALL the time, see then through the walls (the red triangle thingieh) and they dont even KNOW you are seeing them...well...there is just NO turning back....
Passive scanning is MY Crutch....

Ok i think i understand. You are using Scout suits as light assault with slight E-war advantages.
Makes sense. And its all and all, what most people will probably do too.

But you do know a Gallente Logi will be able to scan you 90% of the times if you dont run Dampners or run low level dampeners?
You do know that GAllente and Caldari scanning abilities are almost useles vs high level players unless reinforced with modules right?

I too run a passive scanning scoutt, great fun. I prefer a shotgun but that's me.

I love the Caldari scout, it totally fits my style. However, if Active Scanners are not changed the bonus will be lackluster. Scanners will be able to spin scan further with much larger area and relay that to the squad. Plus they can perma scan almost as well as passive scans. Only drawback to using Active Scanning is alerting the enemy and time actually scanning.

If they are not changing them it's probably best to run Gal Scout with a scanner...save all those mods.

Maybe Minnie with a scanner.

I have a feeling I missed this but, did ccp confirm the removal of scout sidearm slots?

I was really hoping they just left it and added a second equipment slot.....
