With the upcoming accelerated SP week (Jan. 22-29) I propose to make this week a no proto, no advanced gear week.
Yea, I know, but hear me out.
I see people, probably new players, going 0/5, 0/8, 0/12 or even worse in every single match and I can not imagine that these guys are having any fun whatsoever. But we need more people to stick to this game if we want it to succeed.
I'd imagine that many people who have given up on this game might return for this event to see if the game got any better and additionally this event is a good opportunity for new players to catch up on SP.
So what we as a community can do is make it a little easier for those guys to get into the game and have fun without getting roflstomped 23/7. At least for one week.
So, for just this one week, I'd ask everyone of this lovely community to only use standard dropsuits, weapons, and modules in pub matches. (you are free to use whatever you like in FW and PC, of course)
I know I can not stop everyone from using proto gear and the trolls will inevitably keep stomping, but the more people participate the better.
even without advanced gear veterans will still have more than enough bonuses from their skills and knowledge about the game to distinguish themselves from the rest of the people. You can not lose anything, except your KDR might take a slight hit, if you care for such silly things.
So, if you are with me on this, please let your corpmates know about this aswell, and refrain from using anything but standard gear for this one week. Just 1 week.

I just spent a week trashing my stats, stabbing 200 people.

Proto or not, there's no such thing as "stomping" with a Scout.

An honorable and well reasoned idea. However it will likely be the opposite, with so much SP on the table I think people are more likely to go proto to gain as much as possible, with ISK being a low concern. It will be a horrible week for newberries IMO. |

So I should worry about those guys having fun but I'm still getting revived by a blueberry in the middle of firefight? The blueberry doesn't even shoot at enemies when we are under attack, but waits until another blueberry is dead and the red is close to death before he pulls his trigger? The same blueberry who complains about a reload skip/cancel animation? The same blueberry who will just sit in the MCC when the poop hits the fan?
And you want people to put aside their hard work to get to where they are now just for the fun of blueberry? I say no. Stop babying these blueberries. You didn't learn how to tackle or play football by playing in air conditioned padded room, did you?

There's a relatively new guy I know that always seems like he's having fun. I checked his K/D and it was something like 0.1. I wish I could give him some of my kills.

If i play in my standard bpo set it makes no diffrence how many new blueberries i go through, but vs the squad on the otherside, i might need my proto gear to compete against 6 players in protogear, its already 6 vs 1.

I allready run around in std only i still get 30 plus kills and i make wwwwaaayy more isk :-). Also yeh never gunna the forum population makes up less 1% of Dust514 players.

No because it's only 5x multiplier on WPs earned, base is still the same at 1x. It's going to be a very long week.
I don't know why they never change the base, that is always so much more fun and quicker to cap. Now we get the WP whores...lots of logis with proto equipment and lots of pub stomping. |

Its funnier in std and you can sharpen your skills

Every one gets 50 000 a pop killing me in this ongoing event but I have to kill ppl with nova knifes to get anything in return.
Yeah I will proto stomp, spam militia tanks do whatever it takes to stomp the reds face throw the grownd.

If your are focusing on killing only in the next event then you are doing it wrong.
You just want WPs...a logi repping, hacking, and reviving is so much better than a straight up killer. |

Eh. Usually run standard/adv in pubs already. Was planning on a good week of proto stomping to cap quickly due to work and real life. We'll see how it turns out. Highly doubt the usual pub stomp corps will be running anything but proto this week as usual. Good luck to all, hope you guys saved an omega booster for this event. 1.2mil SP here I come. |
