looks like I wont be playing for a few weeks.
CCP: "hey you know that hideously underpowered class that has NEVER GOTTEN LOVE?"
marketing: "yea, the scout right?"
CCP: "yea, that's the one, lets put a bounty on all their heads"
marketing: "okay but why would scouts play along?"
CCP: "we'll give them proto suits and weapons for getting kills with an awful, easily countered, niche weapon.
marketing: "BRILLIANT!"
I'm not angry, or even disappointed, but I'm not taking part either.
I have 65 million isk, I don't need free prototype gear.
I have 13 million SP accelerated SP would be nice but I don't need it either.

I applaud any event, even if it is a playstyle I don't normally play.
It could be worse, there could be no events.
Id rather have events than not. And I fail to see how ranting helps.

You know what would have been a better "scout" event? Getting the cash if you kill a a scout in another scout suit.
This forces anyone who wants to partake in the event into an extremely weak suit...Maybe they would learn from it.
I want good events, I'd rather not have these bad events.

The scout isn't as 'extremely weak' as you would like to shout out. Imo, the scout is a powerful suit in its own way, however, too many other suits are marginalizing its role on the battlefield imo.

Or just getting kills in a scout suit would have been fine(for the scout rewards)

I'm not so sure about partaking myself but this seems to be some kind of test, if you want to help scouts in the long run just try to rethink about joining in.
I'll even squad with ya so we can knife together.

Not true at all as my BigBertha(HMG) is included in the list of acceptable weapons to claim the bounty on scouts. On the same note scouts always seem to be trying to either knife or shotgun me anyway so I wont even have to go looking for them win-win for both of us really either he kills me for his reward or I notice him in time and turn on the meat grinder for my reward.
Thanks CCP for making the HMG Heavy viable again :3
That's no excuse though to slack off on releasing a heavy laser =.=

Change your play style and expectations; go for survival challenges...
* Maximum kill streak (number of knife kills without a death)
* Maximum lossless streak (number of games without a death)
* GTA (steal an enemy LAV, getting killed sends you back to your own redline)
etc.

I wish CCP would not use events as "testing" it really ruins the fun...isn't that why we made events...to have fun?
And what the hell have I been doing with my scout the last few months? I get mowed down by all those weapons every day...CCP couldn't use that data?

Brings me back to the days where my corp would set up "Left (51)4 Dead" battles. It was when you could set up corp battles against other corps. We made an alt corp and put 1 guy in there and let them use whatever weapon they wanted, then 8 of us would be on the enemy side but only use scouts and nova knives.
I think we went like 2-40 the first battle because I quite frankly suck with Nova Knives, but it was hilariously fun to have one guy with a gun running away from 8 'zombies' trying to melee him to death.

but that free 10 mill can be obtain to help continue my cal fw habits, thus use the buddy system create scout alts and get that free 10 mill

Coreskills: Dropsuites Upgrades, Engineering, Electronics, Hacking, Shieldupgrades, Armorupgrades, Weapon Upgrades, Precision, Dampener, maxing out your weapon of choice ... you have A LOT to spend without "wasting" anything.

I may be in a tiny minority of players but being a non-knifing scout, this is the worst possible set up for any event I could imagine. I stand a chance of getting a few scout kills but will be a rewardable target for everyone else too, whilst not getting any rewards for the kills I get in my scout suit because I don't NK.
Cheers CCP, I just came back from a month holiday and was looking forward to playing again but looks like I'll have to take a break again for a couple of weeks because of this.

From what I understand , they make adjustments threw the data that is collected , now maybe this event is like a fact finding mission of sorts to compare and double check that data that has been obtained over the past months and also from the " Black Eagle event " , this data is being compared to make the final adjustments to the scout class for the racial release .
This is prob a way for them to see how they would like to implement the cloaking specks for that release as well .
Wonder why they are calling all scouts to arms ??? Scouts should be willing to undergo this event , at least for the betterment of their class .
Future Caldari Heavy so watch out for this Sumo Shinobi with a Caldari HMG .

According to Iron Wolf Saber in IRC CPM is pushing for a full respec, if that doesn't go through then the fallback would be an infantry respec (suits, upgrades, weapons)
So, as it stands, chances for a respec are strong, but not definite.
