Spam more tanks (with competent drivers) in Ambush and it's almost a sure thing win -- they simply outkill the opposition.
Spam tanks in Skirmish, and often it makes little difference in the outcome -- those matches generally are won by the better infantry, and tanks don't mean as much when it comes time to taking flags (particularly those protected from direct tank fire).
Domination is more of a toss up. |

Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

That's actually what I want to see.
Tanker's "AV" going up against scrub pilots, and then going up against vet pilots.
Also, extend this to Assault Dropships as well.

I'll hopefully be posting my results soon - been running tanks since the patch and have some interesting notes, as I was formerly running just AV.
the people you cite are just well known tank trolls who have fantastic arguments like "get gud" , "team up with a tanker"... and they brought out a new one I had never heard the other day "swarm launchers are meant for LAV's, forge guns are meant for HAV's"... yep that's the new tank troll of the week. |

I haven't made up my mind about this entire tanks vs AV debacle. I do see tank after tank gets blown up (though mostly by other tanks), but I also see tank Squads ruling the Battlefield With entire Squads of AV players getting stomped....
Its as always a matter of situation, team composition and general skill of the players.
Having dudes thats hardly done anything but tank for almost 2 years come here and claim how easy av is, that they can drop a tank in standard gear without any skills invested is pure nonsense, especially the "easy" part of it all.
So far I can see 2 major issues thats off:
1. Tank spam in Ambush. Not that I play that game mode much these days but it is nice to have a Place where we can just screw around and shoot someone in the face, without worrying about much else. A co-ordinated tank Train is a sure winner and is about to break that entire game mode, its a shame.
2. The accuracy/efficiency of Large blasters. Yes we've always had them and no one complained, why? I don't have a Clue. Perhaps it would be best to remove it all together or do some tweaks to them, i dunno. IMO the large guns should be for other vehicles, installations, aerial vehicles and area denial, not the supersized AR, infantry killer it is today. With the removal of large blasters, tankers will off course get the occational infantry kill. Did you ever hear a ground pounder complain about getting killed by a rail or missile tank? I haven't.
If Heavy blasters would be removed, the tankers needs to fit their smaller turrets for Close infantri submission. This will lead to the tankers "suffering" from the same issue that AV infantry has, as an AVer you're pretty much dependant on guys to cover and take out enemy infantry or you'll not even get Close. To do everything you need more than 1 dude in the Box.
Today the tanks are:
- Very solid in terms of HP
- Very solid in terms of keeping that hp With hardeners
- Very solid in terms of repping time
- Very solid vs anything not infantry
- Very solid vs infantry
- And they are fast to the point were it actually looks silly or "cartoonish" when you see them speed boost away...
Removing large blasters would give them a proper role on the Battlefield, not the "be all do all better than anything else" machines they are today. Does this sound balanced?

unfortunatley i cannot do as u say on the u servers as vehicle spamm for american on eu servers causes the eu server players vehicles to teleport/...but once ccp fixes the lag issue sure
why use suits when ccp gave us nice shiny op as hell tanks that cost next to nothing

Btw as it stands swarms are pretty UP, when I'm in a tank on my alt 90% of swarms are just a way to give away a position.
I propose swarms get a small increase to damage and a little more range too. Not the same range they had before, but a bit further than their max range is now.

Have all of you rainbow guys been playing for a long time? I always see people like Taz666 in those ambushes and I remember him from closed beta I think. He always seems to be in ambushes lol
