railguns are way to damm powerful, reduce thier damage by 100 and reduce thier fire rate to 1.6 levels, limit thier range to 350m. reduce assault dropship hulls to atleast 200k isk, thier way to expensive for thier effectiveness. increase invubus pg to 1400 &/or decrease cpu & pg costs of basic 120mm plates and basic heavy rep. increase python pg by 100 the shield fitting skill is useless with complex pg upgrade. reduce railgun installation range to 150m or 200m dammit im tired of LOL railgun installations. reduce the angle of which a railgun can aim up slightly.
some of these things can be hotfixed

also make railguns do 70% or 60% damage to shields like WTH pythons get 2 shotted by MLT railguns with 2550 shield sometimes and railguns fire too fast to get out of the way. also increase python acceleration to be fast as a gunlogi or lav and speed they cant put afterburners. /rant

ps EVERY light shield vehicle reps faster than a heavy shield vehicle, but EVERY armor vehicle regens ALOT slower than a HEAVY vehicle, invubus needs a buff to at least fit a basic or enhanced armor rep with sacrificing ALL tank and afterburners, heck i should regen faster than a madrugar, but 90 hp/s is what you get.......

Woah that's a lot for a hotfix. I would agree that having a longer charge time is needed for rail/dropship balance. I barley get a chance to turn on my mods before the second shot comes. And that's only when i don't have to correct my flight patch to avoid crashing. That would be a good hotfix |

So to make it clearer, you want the following..
- Reduced Railgun damage
- Reduced Railgun range
- Reduced Railgun rate of fire
- Reduced price of Assault Dropships
- Increased PG for the Python and Incubus
- Reduced Railgun Installation range
- Reduced Railgun turret elevation
- Increased Shield Resistance against Railguns
- Increased Python acceleration
- Increased passive regen for light vehicles (And I'm guessing give light vehicles bonuses to their armor reppers?)
Most of these are appropriate I think, though I do have some thoughts. Look to tweaking different things one at a time, and consider the other vehicles affected, a Railgun is an effective AT weapon, so reducing its damage would make it worse than using something like Missiles. So rather than lowering DPS for a Railgun, a reduction to elevation may actually solve many issues Dropships are facing, ofcourse there's always the problem that a tank will find a hill so it can aim upwards, but that can be worked on.
Seriously, ADS prices are that high? That is ******* ridiculous and needs a fix right away, If a tank hull costs under 100k, the Dropships need to be around that price also.
I don't feel it necessary to nerf railgun installations to the extent you're proposing, however, if your complaint is due to the fact that the A.I fires at you from that distance (I know the feeling, every other vehicle has this problem) then rather than nerf the installation and making them ineffective against vehicles again (though Dropships have always had a problem with them), nerf the A.I targeting range, if you get close to them, that's your fault but nobody deserves to be shot out of the sky randomly by an A.I installation.
On the regen, can we safely buff it without affecting AV? If so, then fully support, light vehicles and dropships need additional perks to be used, if the LAV had an even higher regen, perhaps double a Gunnlogi (Gunnlogi has around 160 on shield regen) then I could see it being used a lot more. Same with the Dropship, though I haven't flown this build due to lack of a controller, so that's down to all the pilots this build to discuss further.

Alot of people havn't realised the power of railguns yet, I swapped out all my vehicles for rails guns but the blueberries are like "meh", they still think this is chromosome or what-evs.

They can, I solo'd a brave rail tanking noob that came out of the redline last week, twice in one match he was kinda mad about it, and I was rather surprised with armor reps it should be near on mathematically impossible for an incubus to do. |

If you want to fly you need to learn to use speed, height and cover or you'll be walking home. Take out your anti-vehicle fit ADS and deal with the situation. Installations not move and are easy to destroy. Redline tanks tend to be thin and run away to be recalled if you start hitting them.

your asking for 2 big of a nerf when it comes to some of the damage and range..
rof changes could be all thats needed though..
because that means i wont have to worry about a single rail tank doing massive amounts of damage to my blaster tank.. it means i can actually counter then... |

I struggle to understand your issues with this, another rail tank will prevent or destroy that rail tank, suicide hot drops will also destroy them....not condoning that type of play but the easiest way to nerf this type of cowardice is to disallow the firing of weapons in the Redline as it is not a CONCORD sanctioned battlefield.

I struggle to understand your issues with this, another rail tank will prevent or destroy that rail tank, suicide hot drops will also destroy them....not condoning that type of play but the easiest way to nerf this type of cowardice is to disallow the firing of weapons in the Redline as it is not a CONCORD sanctioned battlefield.
So, if you get redlined, you automatically lose the match and are free kills since none of your weapons work anymore... This is why players are not taken seriously when it comes to balance.
If you hear the words "WORTH IT!" look about, something hilarious just happened.

that should mean no more free kills for when u get redlined..in fact it means your enemy would have trouble getting dat "free" kill.. |

Those are some very odd physics you subscribe to. then they need a bigger damage nef since people redline snipe, railguns are ranged weapons not DPS machines but CCP broke that. Yup you don't deserve to be able to fire out of the redline if you get to that state, that or you make a concerted attack to push back onto the map.
Frankly speaking, this being a phrase I am going to be using a lot, we all need to HTFU.
In other FPS tanks take out helicopters in 1 shot, maybe 2 tops.
In dust a dropshipper gets 2-3 shots before they go down.
Even at this point I am beginning to wonder how CCP balanced tanks, and you say players are **** at balancing....

Would it be possible to make railguns have bullet drop? That alone would make hitting a moving dropship much harder, especially if the dropship is changing altitude.
The PC and SL should fit into Sidearm/ Equipment slots so it's accessible and practical to carry one.

I am no expert but of all the video I've seen of current railguns there is no spin to the projectile. I'd think at some point it will start to tumble. Maybe not over such sort distances we see in game but you have to have some suspension of physics in games. |

A competent pilot is virtually invulnerable to infantry AV as things stand. If rails were much less of a threat, DSs would be God mode.
I'm not opposed to a dropship buff or rail nerf per se, but it would have to come in alongside a major AV buff. |
