Only time you have to squad is PC, and I can't play that because I never get more than 3 frames per second. Getting a ps3 slim in a few days, so maybe that will change, but you only "need" a squad if you need people to cover up the gaps in your gameplay.
You by no means "need" a squad. Even if you come up against full proto squads, which I often do, you just change around your tactics.
Plus, when I do end up running with a squad, I usually feel like this

Amarr try but the Caldari are afraid of losing ISK for whatever reason. The pride of the Gallente and the tribal blood of the Matari keeps us going.
Only suggestion I'll give is having each player automatically locked to their chosen faction in the beginning. Those who care will switch or edit their faction or just keep playing with their single faction with content.
As far as organization goes. You could have a good squad without mics but then you need a proper leader. Mics raise your effectiveness though. People need to stop QQing either way since FW is supposed to be "hard mode."

Rogue spades usually q sync into caldari and amarr faction warfare. Makes the game much enjoyable. but then we got the pizza face blueberry nerds who actually take time to suicide 50 times.

I swear this entire community needs a swift kick in the @$#@ sometimes.. Easy there "Elite super cool Alpha Monkey G Dog" Some of us have no use for a mic & some of us don't care to hear some 11 year old gangsta curse like a sailor just for sh!ts & giggles. and there again some can't afford a mic. I think your little elitism has went to you head thus causing your fingers to distribute poo.. What he is trying to say is that people with a microphone who are in a squad with other people whom all have microphones, have a much bigger advantage. |

But you are just being argumentative here. If you have 16 people running solo vs people in squads it's not going be effective a vast majority of the time.

There's no doubt. But there are too many players playing solo and getting their faces stomped off, over and over and over again. Then they run to the forums to complain about matchmaking and proto stomping.

OK so after 3 pages we can establish that having a mic and a squad is better in Dust514.
So back to the issue, FW, currently plagued by a matchmaking system that does not try to create even matches, the match making system gets the 1st 16 players and puts them against the next 16 players, no restrictions, no care if one entire team has 20+million SP per player and the other has under 20million SP combined between the opposition. The current situation in FW sees gallente and minmatar favored by a large amount, meaning that when a new player decides to try faction warfare, he has all four races selected and the game will automatically place him in the fastest opening, Caldari and Amarr. So Dust514 is basically AWOXing Cal/Amarr better than any of the little scrubs that are actually trying to do so.
Something needs to be added in the game, to allow the FW matches to have equal teams(as equal as it can be) creating better battles. It is then upto the players in these better battles to get themselves a squad, mic up and go killing.
Having a mic and a squad at 500,000 life time SP will not help, will NOT fix this. |

Playing Gallente FW last night, as I need specialist Plasma Cannons 6-man DMG squad came up against, a Q-sync of Contract Hunters My squad finished 1st to 6th place
So on to my point -
- 6 of us w/voice comm held out against double our number and won
- Caldari FW is getting better , they lost but I'm seeing an increase in q-syncing so things should be lookin up for the state I hope |
