What the problem is in my eyes:
New players: 500-2,000,000 SP ( I understand there are some immense players who have low total SP, they are not majority though.)
Obviously every tryhard and his sisters cousin are playing for Gallente and Minmatar, which is fine, except this means the spots in their matches are more competitive, so that when a new(er) player attempts to join they automatically have all four factions selected, the game will then find them a spot, which 9/10 will be on the Caldari and Amarr. It's killing it, this scare off better players because earning 65 LP for a match of agony just isn't fun.
I don't really like the idea of blocking players from a gamemode but it is an all actuality in the runnings of helping FW in the long run. By stopping the n00bs from being thrown into the weaker sides, made the Caldari and Amarr might be able to pick up the pace a bit.
Easier access to Eve players offering Orbital support would also be handy.
Protostompers have found FW pretty nice, to get teamed against noobberries, consistently, more and more players are showing up in the best suits, not in an effort to win, just to stomp.
So basically, something needs to be done to stop all the red headed step children thrown in with the albino WoW kids. Killing FW.
We are nearly a year away from open beta and the team play in this game has never been as bad as it is now. It is painfully obvious that something has to change. There must be something to PUSH players to play in groups. You'd think getting stomped repeatedly would be enough, but that only leads to QQ on the forums. Perhaps an increase in passive SP gain for being in a corporation???? I'm not sure that's a great idea, but there has to be something.
It's not just FW that is the problem, but because there is an incentive to win it's all of a sudden a glaring issue that so many people have no clue how to actually play the game. I've been screaming for changes to incentives for months now. All the passive play in pubs (to build ISK reserves).
If losing 6 ADV suits in a pub match leads to breaking even and not actively participating in the winning of a battle leads to a 200K windfall the system is broken.
Until that situation is addressed there is little to no hope that pub matches or faction warfare will be "fun" on a regular basis.FW compounds the issue. Once the tide in the battle is turned in one direction the other team lays down even worse than in a pub match. People have to make ISK decisions far too often. I personally have no problem continually pushing a point stubbornly and my KDR shows it. There are not a lot of people like that and it shows in many, many matches.
But like I've said above, increasing payouts isn't going to do anything to help all these solo playing randoms to learn how to actually play the game.
