Put the old scope back on the AR and I might use it again, I don't care how much SP I sunk into AR, not worth using till I have a scope back.

Nothing needs to be touched on either of these rifles until they have another look at ttk and balance around the rest of the weapons in general. I know this is shortly after the release and everyone is playing with them, but honestly even before the 1.7 patch, I've seen little to no use of any other type of weapon on the field except for scout shottys. Every weapon should have a place in correct situations and right now, I don't believe that's the case.
As far as these two specific weapons in general, I feel they balance themselves out perfectly. A RR across the field is going to win, but my CR in CQC usually wins.

I used to armor tank my Minmatar logi with 200/400 shield/armor. Now I do 330/200 with regulators and speed mods in the lows because that extra mobility matters. Not as much as it should, but it's getting there.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

Out of the two guns the RR is the more balanced of the two,if you run the math it's DPS at it's optimal runs close to a AR while the CR doesn't, even though it is a burst weapon,the weapon doesnt have noticable fireing inverals or pasues between shots ,if you just spam the trigger it acts as a automatic weapon.

Combat rife is much more powerful for a few reasons. It can kill me just as far as my rail rifle can kill people, only faster. It has far more ammo and ROF than my RR and takes less bullets to get a kill. It doesn't have a negative bounus against shields and has a 5% bounus against armor. It melts shields just as quickly as it does armor. Its burst fire. All this makes it the new fotm. |

the RR can kill your from outside your rendering distance. At 100m range and beyond actually. with just the std. I mean seriously you can kill someone from so far even if they looked in your direction you couldnt see them.

scramblers need a nurff more then combat rifle but combat rifle is way op in damage per sec 1200 fire rate is way to high compare dps on all weapons not just cause you are killed by 1 more. most AR do more damage or similar to RR avg hp on drop suits seems not to have been looked at when making most weapons esp with all of them having a 25% increse with proficiency then add damage mods more hp or less damage from the high dps weapons its whats needed not crying do to getting killed do to the flavor of the month weapon |

Holy cow! I think I actually agree with D for the first time ever.
Both of these weapons are actually pretty well balanced with the AR and SCR. Sure the AR's DPS is a bit low by comparison but it can still wreck.
CCP just needs to buff the other weapons up to the same level as the rifles and this game will be sweet.
Edit: I'm not including the laser rifle in the group of rifles I'm calling internally balanced. It needs a buff along with all the rest of the non-rifle weapons.

Alot folks don't know what the heck they're talking about. They are both balanced and good for unique situations.
Especially a CalLogi fit with a RR. I can keep my distance and lay down support fire while still assisting teammates that surround me.

If anything the Rail Rifle is the one that needs a damage nerf if it keeps tje range.

The breach variants reduce rate of fire for increased alpha, not range. |
