Weapons Trial: Rifle Round Up
The Combat Rifle and Rail Rifle have been released into the hands of mercenaries across the cluster. Now it's time to put them to the test! Take one of the new rifles out into the field and cut down your enemies with them. For every ten kills you score with one of the new rifles, you'll earn 1 free AUR Prototype version of the same rifle, up to a maximum of 100. You might even discover a new favorite.
This event is for public and faction warfare contracts only.
You may use any standard or advanced version of the Combat and Rail Rifles to qualify for the reward.
The AUR prototype reward type will be announced later on the events page.

CCP Santa is coming to town and he's bringing a squad of developers with him! They're coming to spread mayhem and destruction, gunning down any and everyone who isn't on their side. Throughout the days of December 16, 18, and 20, special contracts will be appearing in the Other Contracts tab. You can either fight with your favorite CCP developers or against them. No matter what, you'll earn double SP and ISK for any Dev Invasion you participate in. Plus you get to kill or protect (let's just be honest, you're going to kill us) DUST 514 developers!
The Other Contracts will appear at random times during the days of the event, so check often in-game to see when they become available.
Players participating in this event will receive bonus skill points and ISK as rewards. These rewards will be given after the event has concluded.
Disclaimer: all in-game items lost and or destroyed during the event will not be refunded so be careful of what fittings you use during the event.

No bonus SP event? Also there doesn't seem to be dates on the rifle event, I guess it's all month? |

Well, you get a little bonus SP for killing devs (win win if I've ever heard one), but the blog you referenced was not taking about a specific event, just that they will be doing them differently in the future.
Now gimme mah new gunz! I believe that the new rifles with be in the next newsletter, at least I think that's why they made such a big deal about making sure your email address was correct.

Please have friendly fire turned on....I at least want to get kicked out once from a game for killing devs, even if they are on my team for all the times Scotty has beam me onto a bad match. Then I'll go about slaying devs like a normal person, though if I have a choice between a reg player and a dev to slay, the dev is going down. |

Well the event for guns would be cool, then I would know which one I wanna spec into, except for the fact that god knows when you will give em to us. Were still waiting on our pink suits we dont have yet, so yea basically pointless bc i'm not waiting a week to or two to get my rewards and then spec into a gun, wont be competing in this event.
And as for the other, how much sp are you gonna give us, a bonus 5,000 or so per match ( whats a few matches a day at 5,000sp ), if so idrc about that one either. I hate to be so negative, but I honestly didnt get too excited when reading these, i'm really disappointed. I thought the events at christmas time would be the best out of the year.
p.s. ( where is our triple sp christmas event ccp ) or better yet ( where is our christmas bonus sp that you just add to our acc without the grind ).
When your playing dust and your frustrated...if all else fails...turn off the ps3. Works every time.

item event only good for people using the new rifles (as opposed to any weapon last month)
Devs are 14 hours ahead of me(CST), meaning I will not see any in-game because when they are asleep I am playing.
Aside from that, how many of the thousands of players in dust will even be able to participate in this? Even playing in the right time-zone, at the right time when dev are on, chances are the matches will fill up in a heartbeat....
TLDR:
No events in december for my North American brothers/sisters who could care less about the new rifles..... Merry Xmas. |

The Devs really should ride out with fully maxed skills and maxed out fits. Maybe create some special Jove/Sleeper or Concord suits (especially Concord fits actually are fine lore wise - see Templar One) just for such purposes (which of course could be then salvaged by players with the usual salvage mechanics ;) |

To make this more of a challenge and fun, the devs should get a temporary SP boost to like 50,000,000 SP so they can hang.
If they are in their usual standard/advance gear, they will get steam rolled.

We're going to have the events scattered throughout the day (both in Shanghai and Reykjavik) so there should be quite a few games for you guys to join at varying times. The games on Monday (Shanghai time) should fall on Sunday evening for you guys in US timezones.

I just played a match and it was instant death.
Managed to help guy kill a tank, but that was it.
There was only one CCP developer on the opponent team.
Also, I didnt' get twice the SP and ISK as stated in the events thread.

I thought event was referring to the after the battle.
So after Dec 20th we have to assign the bonuses to one character?
I played 3 dev invasions, 2 with char with capped SP and 1 with this character.
My first event like this, so I assumed after the battle made the most sense for ppl using multiple characters.

Just got done with one of the dev fights, was fun for the first few minutes, then the lag hit. It was worse than many PC's I have been in. It was the 4 point research lab, pretty sure people started spamming the depots with uplinks and hives. Couldn't do a damn thing for the last 10 minutes which was extraordinarily frustrating. |

As mentioned before, in Shanghai we're running at 11 AM, 1.30 PM, 5 PM local time (UTC +8). There will also be Devs running games from Reykjavik. :)

I got in a game against three of the devs. It was a pretty hectic high end ambush, with, what was it, like 400 clones? Anyway, it timed out.
Point is, love to see more devs playing in an official capacity. I know they all have real work to do (they are *making* the game!), but spending a couple of hours a week getting down and personal really gives it a certain cache that I haven't felt from any game in a long, long time.
Bring the (more!) noise, devs!

Yes, it did. This was a total **** move on CCP's part. My guess is they didn't accumulate the stats as they were supposed to so they are trying to hide their eff up.
