It is ridiculous that just one equipment, active scanners, can completely make scouts useless. Particularly at the Proto Level, where a scout with max proficiency in all dampening skills needs to run a Complex Dampener + Another Dampener.
Two slots used already. That is one slot to many.
The Scout at max skills should be able to avoid all scanners with no more than one Complex Dampener.

I do.
How about making non-scouts think twice before using that scanner of theirs ?
It's a bit odd that everyone can (and does) use active scanning without any drawbacks.

put two complex profile dampners and stop being a freaking noob about it.
That will stop you from getting scanned from everything but the proto "FOCUSED" scanner. And guess what bro-ham. NO ONE USES THAT ONE EVER. So you're good.

Yea, the Min Assault has become all but worthless in the past few months. I'm only around 12mil lifetime SP, but every last bit has been spent on improving skills and cores that apply to my role. Maybe I need more SP to break through to the next level, or maybe I just suck.
But this suit was waaaaay better back when I started in July, even having a miniscule amount of SP.

First of all, using every single low slot you have for stealth modules makes your choices for tanking very small. You can't fit codebreakers to help hack objectives, armor plates to beef up your already redicilously small HP, an armor repairer to give you some survivability out of combat, biotic modules to make you run faster and longer to survive encounters. Nope, you can't do any of that, simply to avoid a single or a few people with a prototype level scanner, which makes the entire stealth aspect of your suit useless.
And you can't be more incorrect about the Focused scanners. As soon as people start noticing that there's a scout who can avoid the proto scanner, they instantly switch to the focused one just to find you and kill you easily with their stupid logi suits using Duvolle ARs and have a 1000 eHP.
You see, stealth is broken in this game, and grossly unbalanced towards active scanners. The fact that you have to waste over 5 million SP on scout suit levels and maxing out your profile dampening skill, and waste two slots to complex profile dampeners, while you only need 1.5 million SP for an active scanner that can make all that useless.
Get your facts right next time.

lol wut. So much misinformation in this thread.
1) Proto scouts only need Lvl 2 dampening and one basic or militia module to evade 28dB proto scanners. Only the Gal Scout can avoid the 15dB proto scans (using 4x complex) so if you don't intend to run this fit or dampeners on other suits, you've wasted your SP.
2) 15dB proto scanners are rare, have crappy light up time, have a long cooldown time, and are overall a lot worse than quantum scanners. Their scan visibility is only 10 seconds, with 33 seconds between scans, so for them to give constant data on you, your enemy would need three or more people taking turns to scan. If you gimp the enemy that much in terms of PG and time without a gun, consider it a job well done. |

I'm a scout, Its very rare that I ever get scanned. and I'm only at lvl 4 with the suit. Its only the dedicated scanners that can detect me and they're mostly in the hands of the proto logi's so if i'm clever I can easily avoid them.
When I do get scanned I do have a 'stealthy' fit with dampeners (not even complex ones) and the problem goes away.
I have no qualms with scanners at all. I run a logi too and they're a pig to fit so it kinda balances out cus both players have to compromise

Yup. agreed. +1
you have to use up all those slots which gives you guy probably 300hp and that means you'll be gunned down in 10 bullets, scanned or not.
It puts you at a disadvantage in the situations in which you're scanned but ALSO in situations where you are not and that's the problem.

Ok Settle down pal, for u ppl who don't get it this is the ony wayy scouts work (for me at least) Don't get seen ,don't get shot, kill em before they know what hit em. The suit is invisible to passive, and I can get a adv light suit under all but that one scanner for about the price of a scanner. Also put a basic scanner on ur scout and u should never have to have to worry about anyone but other scouts. |

Actually, YOU are wrong.
- Gallente scouts can ONLY beat the 15 dB scanner if they use 4x complex profile dampeners, which is what I said. Minmatar proto scouts only have 2 low slots, therefore they can't fit FOUR dampeners. Does this make sense to you or do I need to draw a diagram?
- Dampeners DO have stacking penalties. Confirmed through various in game tests by many people, and with CCP via a ticket I sent. Where are YOU basing your information?
- Of course, logis can use CPU/PG upgrades, but at cost to survivability because *gasp* they use low slots, where your armor is supposed to go! So if you force three logis to use a piece of equipment that eats up 19 PG and requires either a PG upgrade or downgrading other modules on their suit, then their overall effectiveness is reduced. Particularly since three of them need to take turns scanning to give constant intel on your location.
The way scouts whine, there should be people using multiple Duvolle Focused scanners in every match. I highly, highly doubt this is the case.
