That a lone would balance them. The charges would only be replenished upon a suit change, like nano hives. Doing so would also give the scouts an indirect buff because they would.t be spammed anymore.

One complex dampener gets the Callogi to 33.75 which is enough to avoid the adv scanner which last 16s and is the most common and 2 complex gets you to 26.42 decibels which is enough to avoid every scanner except the proto focused but everyne who uses protoscanners uses the one that lasts 25s which has a precision of 28 decibels

Look, we had a time before we needed scanners, everyone could see everyone else, it was ****. Scanners are working as intended. The main issue is the UI. If the UI didn't spam your front view with the words "YOU HAVE BEEN SCANNED" but instead showed the radar as flashing or something people wouldn't whinge as much.
If people want to nerf it, decrease the range and visibility time and increase the recharge.

Have you not noticed the sound a nanohive makes when you drop it? Thats your suit activating it, thats also why we aren't running around with huge nanohive bubbles on the sides or back of our suits. |

Profile dampening is a much better option. If I am trying to run stealthily, I want my victims to completely focus on scanning. If I'm lucky, they will be spin-scanning every 20 seconds when they might have actually had an opportunity to witness their impending doom...now if it would just delay the weapon switch...

I would actually prefer to remove them all together and place more emphasis on the suits built in scan range, profile, and scanning, but you have to adapt I want to be able to see the enemy and have them not see me, which means running a scanner and dampeners both of which I had never used until about a month ago. |

There is no longer any "Some Margin of Error" message. This gets bandied about but hasn't been in place since 1.5, as near as I can tell. You only get the "No Margin of Error" message even when someone who is dampened is in your scan range. |

They last until the nanite count runs out (proto weapons take up more nanites) or when you exceed the active amount of that item by placing a new one and in the case of drop uplinks until the spawn count runs out. |

lets make scanners work this way.
player1 activates scanner.
players 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 and 9 get scanned.
these same players can now see the person who scanned them now.
and along with any1 else that was around the scanner user.
i have to say one thing.
before scanner spam came to be before uprising and all the bad updates and stuff.
i was more invisible during the time of the so called op passives scans than i am now. and i was just starting out back then. didnt have crap for sp or anything. |

If that's true, then there should be a drain on shields or armor repping or something when equipment is activated.
When I first saw this thread, I thought "No, that would suck." But as I thought about it, I realized that it really makes a lot of sense. Limited amount of uses like any device with a battery. Go back to a supply depot or to a nanohive to get a new battery. I think I like that idea actually, and I'm a guy who runs a scanner fairly regularly. |
