Think about it. If DPS was lower or HP was higher creating a larger TTK people would be able to stop armor tanking their suits, allowing far more customization.
But hey what do I know.

I think that removing the arbitrary 10% damage buff, which was given to all weapons at the beginning of uprising, would go a long way toward increasing TTK. Then maybe a 50 HP buff distributed properly racially to each suit type's base HP, would probably do it as far as TTK goes.

That will not do. If DPS for most guns is 500 and most peoples HP is just over 600 removing 10% will make no noticeable change. In fact at 600 DPS the 10 percent is 60 HP less a second. That still means you will likely die in a a second every time. Do the math yourself.

It doesn't matter by itself whether you armor tank or shield tank.
This is what's going on: The Plasma Rifle and Scrambler Rifle are both shield killers. Why would you use shields against shield killers? Armor is more effective in tanking against shield killers. The two weapons that are coming in are armor killers and they will be popular for a while. What happens when people run armor killers? People run shield tanks.
A damage reduction of any sort is noticeable. Strip away the Uprising bonus from all the weapons and you will know the difference.

There is no need to use the buff hammer here. These things need to be treated delicately. The nerf and buff hammers are the reason we are in this mess in the first place. We start small, and if that is not enough then we buff a little more.

Usually I would completely agree with you. However in this case by doing simple math you can see my point.
Does 50 HP a second really seem that much better? Instead of dying in 1 second you will now die in 1.2 seconds. That is still not enough time to react.

Well, I think that the problem here is that I don't agree that we should be tying to go as high as you seem to want to go, and I think that you will find that a lot of people will agree with me.

I did not give any numbers. I simply stated that in my opinion 10 % is not quite enough. At 10 % I will still be forced to armor tank my logi suit. That is not even a basic armor plates worth of HP.
Besides you even said that you would like to see a 10% nerf to DPS as well as a 50 HP buff to all suits. Hate to break it to you but that is the same as a 20 % nerf to DPS.

I've been playing this game for more than a year now, and seen a lot of stats changes in that time. From experience it is my opinion that the numbers I have given would be pretty close to being right. However you are free to disagree if you like.

When I said armor tanking I was referring to HP tanking in general. What I am saying is that with TTK being so low that it is not worth losing the extra HP to fit anything else. The TTK is making everyone run the exact same builds. If we did not have to use all of our slots to stack as much HP as possible there would be much more variety.

No, TTK has gone through the floor its so low, *HALO* has longer TTK than dust right now. Proper dispersion on weapons and a slight rollback of damage will improve things. |

Some weapons need their DPS lowered, and some don't.
Need DPS Nerf(10-15%): ARs(its variants are fine, just the regular AR), ScRs, AScRs, Rail Rifles(RR), ARR, Combat Rifles(CR), ACR, SMGs, Locus Grenades(a lot), AV Grenades(next update),Assault MDs, Swarm Launchers(next update), and Forge Guns(next update)
Don't need changes: MDs, ScPs, Nova Knives, HMGs(would be fine if the above weapons weren't so powerful), and Flaylock Pistols
Need DPS Buff: Sniper Rifles(add ballistics(bullet drop, travel time), increase damage, lower RoF)
Need Bug Fixes: Shotguns(Hit detection), Plasma Cannons(phantom slugs), and Grenades(Damage isn't applied correctly-next update)

Balancing the Assault type weapons is another matter, which needs to be handle VERY DELICATELY through dispersion/kick.

So basically you are ignorant and do not wish to explain things. You must be a forum vet.
Now Instead of being an A5s hat how about you tell me how I am incorrect.
If you take 500 DPS and subtract your 10 percent you get 450 DPS. So DPS has lost 50 Hp of damage a second. Now you wish to add another 50 HP which is equivalent to 10% of 500.
Tell me how I am wrong or I will continue to think you are stupid.

Rail tank don't have bullet drop but they have time to target lag. This would be a good place to start.

It is a rough estimate because I was trying to illustrate a point. Sure I could get more technical about it but it is not really needed.
Either way you look at it TTK is an issue. Sure all guns may not do exactly 500 DPS ( look at the scrambler rifle for example which is upwards of 900 DPS or the mass driver which does between 200-400 DPS) But if you extrapolate the data for DPS and compare it over a certain amount of time like 10 seconds for example most of the guns average out at around 500 DPS which is why I used it as an example. If you average out the DPS of all guns in the game it makes it much easier to find a solution to TTK/ DPS because it is more accurate in terms of relative DPS.

There is to much complex math involved with factors you are not considering.
And quite frankly I couldn't care less what your opinion of me is. As I said before I don't care to spend the time rebuking you. Why should I, anyone with a decent education in mathematics will know what I am talking about, and anyone not so educated isn't worth wasting the time on. So, why bother.
