be point of interst in that whole dev blog was the 5x sp gain for future triple sp events.

What a waste of a blog. No one wants to hear about how you come up with Event ideas. Any intelligent person can figure that out. "A group of you get together and discuss interesting events that involve doing x/ x &y in order to get z (the reward).
You COULD have given us a taste of the new events you have in the works, instead of name dropping the Combat Rifle trials and leaving it at that.

On a different note, 5x sp to reduce the grind sounds amazing and I'm glad CCP took the player base's idea. |

Can I get some credit for pointing out calmly and clearly (with charts!) that the grind was too excessive during the triple and double SP event you ran previously?
Here's the charts I posted on those occasions. I even suggested the 5SP per WP!

sansha's slay event for next christmas unless you can fit it in this year but doubtful.
sansha's slay lav or hav - made in sanshas unique style. spikes galore
sansha's blade - i imagine them looking like freddys gloves but damage based on blades blades
sansha's snowball grenade - these deadly devices act like normal grenades but explode in a blast of snow much like a flux blast. while these do not do any damage they do block vision for a short period of time. a direct hit will catch the grenade and add it to your salvage at the end of the fight
sansha's blizzard missile turret - this item is a tank turret which uses snowball grenades as ammo but fires them like any other missile. these do no damage but have the same effect as snowball grenades. this turret can gain assist to make up for no dps.
sansha's sack nano hive - restocks snowball grenades only to both ground and tank units
all these items would be only available for the event and then disappear once over

30hrs before to grind out?? Some of us have full time jobs remember lol. 20hrs is still a little excessive but achievable.

There's something humorous about a game's own designers referring to it as a "grind". Even so, nice blog CCP! Looking forward to the Combat Rifle Trials. I still want a true 3x SP week again some day, maybe huh, huh?

First off I want to thank CCP for being receptive toward our feedback and making changes (in particular the SP rewards for participation in battles) this is going a long way to helping make this game great!
As for ideas, I'd love to see a return of the live events meshing with the in-game world as we had up until Caldari Prime with our actions determining the outcome of these events. It seems that, now that we are able to choose a side in Faction Warfare, we no longer have live events with which the side choosing is meaningful and engaging!

For heaven's sake stop using 'passive skill point gain' and 'active skill point gain' in this ambiguous way. 'Passive skill point gain' usually refers to the 24,000SP per day we get regardless of whether we log on or not, but here and elsewhere (e.g. the announcement for the previous event) you use it to refer to the SP gained from time in battle. Similarly, 'active skill point gain' usually refers to the total SP gain from battle (warpoints+time in battle), but here and elsewhere you use it only to refer to the warpoint-based SP.
How can you expect to be able to communicate your plans to players effectively when you don't even use terms consistently? The previous event was a case in point. People assumed that the increase WOULD apply to battle time SP as you'd said that 'active SP gain' would increase and only 'passive SP gain' wouldn't increase. They were then understandably annoyed when it turned out that you meant that it was only warpoint SP that would increase, and battle time SP (which is actually part of active SP) would stay the same.
TL;DR Please stop using 'passive SP' to refer to battle time SP. Just call battle time SP battle time SP. Also stop using 'active SP' to refer to warpoint SP. Just call warpoint SP warpoint SP. |

Yes, thank you for the changes to upcoming triple SP events and for ignoring the people who obviously don't have jobs or kids who tried to shout down Absolute Idiom, Aero Yassavi, and yes, I'm putting in a plug for myself as well for crunching the numbers on the time needed to gain the total SP.
This sort of thing helps keep our faith in CCP and is appreciated. Also, I would like to know about the combat rifle trials as well.

What we want from events is, either useful stuff(SP, proto weapons) or unique stuff(unique dropsuits/weapons like officer variants) You could even release BPOs in the future through event requirements.
You guys have access to things we all want, take advantage of that. AUR proto equipment/weapons/dropsuits are also great incentives.
More of your events should be based on individual players to give them their own needed equipment as well, as our largest complaint is some events being useless.
This could be achieved by either the first way I presented or another way like- FW compensation event! For every 3 of the same loadouts you use in a row while playing FW, 1 will be refunded to you instantly! Players just want an event that really benefits us, and thats generally only done by unique/proto stuff or SP. |
