An officer weapon event would generate a lot of interest and I like your idea of a package. Reach a goal and get ten weapons so that the grind is finite. They'll need to fill out the officer variants though.

Yet still events are boring and stale and have no meaning in New Eden.
Where are the planet side interventions between empires, pirate groups, and such we came to expect post Caldari Prime.
No current even has been as good as that one was....and that one was sooooo very very good! |

I think its great that you got to the point that we don't like the grind, kudos. Now if you could only make paid boosters increase active sp gain and you might sell more of those =)
the only worrying part of the entire blog was "This is because we want to avoid players who will exploit this by simply joining a battle and then remain idle."
The premise that you have to make it harder on the ones following the rules to try to hinder those not just seems to me to be the wrong way to make your players happy. The event had the opposite effect of making players afk.
Why don't we tackle the entire reason for afk? you could effectively eliminate most of the afk by actually phasing out passive battle sp to active sp bonuses as you character moves up the sp scale. At higher level 10m SP+ you would basically have no battle sp but your active sp would be slightly higher. This type of scale would start out with really high passive battle sp and each level you go up, it slowly decreases and weans newer players off free sp basically.

if the cap is raised the SP per WP needs raised twice as much as the cap is ie x3 Cap= x6 SP per WP.

Now 5x active SP is a step in the right direction but i think that it will need to go a little further to still not make it a grind.
I think that we should get another triple SP event at the start of december to test out the new numbers. |

Could you guys create an event where you benifit more from wearing basic/STD gear than you do from running proto-suits?
that would be cool. and a lot different from all the current events.
This week, in players chasing for the Quafe suits, I've seen multple people quit the game from being protostomped more than usual.
Events that you want to use proto gear in are bad for player retention.

this only works if the 5x SP is NOT applied to the cap, just the in-battle multiplier. if the cap is also raised by 5x then the grind gets worse. the former was implied in the Dev Blog, but not explicitly said in terms of: "5x Sp for Active in-battle WP in a 3x Sp Cap event"
