- Lock on target
- Only works when aiming DIRECTLY at target
Go and play COD or BF, and you WILL notice how the game basically clicks your gun directly on the enemy, with out any help from you. DUST doesn't do that COD and BF have the Aim slow down when just on target in general. DUST doesn't do that. SOURCEConclusion- DUST has one of the softest Aim Assist out there. We have aim-assist, not auto-aim. There's a bid difference between the 2. I never state that AA(aim-assist) locks on to targets. AA actually only kicks in when you directly aim at a target; I have no idea why you claim it doesn't. Once you lock on to a target, the aiming reticle will follow the target to a very limited degree. The aiming reticle doesn't slow down over targets so much as it lightly sticks to them. Thus we don't have aim friction, only aim adhesion. Either your English sucks and you aren't correctly conveying your thoughts or your the kind of knuckle head that argues with someone you mostly agree with. Thats what I said.

Aim assist was put in to counteract the power you get from using mouse and keyboard, if aim assist is being removed then they need to work on controller sensitivity (allow very fine movements while making quicker turns possible) or just remove mouse and keyboard support. Otherwise I'm all for it. |

They need to nerf damage on a few weapons that are OP right now (probably the upcoming rifles too) and add a slight bit of kick to the AR (significantly less than the AScR). EXACTLY.

Otherwise I'm all for it. Or they could keep aim assist and give mouse/keyboard raw input. Mouse/keyboard is hardly as great as people think it is. There's pretty severe input lag as well as very awkward sensitivity controls which makes close-quarter combat an absolute nightmare vs any DS3 aim assist user.

Nope.
The current mouse implementation has a habit of ignoring fine input. Getting a headshot on even a still target takes a few sweeps across their model to get the crosshairs to land just right.
Even back in Chromosome (when the mouse had a turn speed cap, but arguably better precision) the top players were still DS3 users *without* the benefit of aim assist.
I don't think aim assist really factors into the mouse vs ds3 argument. It's just a crutch that has become "tradition" on consoles, and I don't think it has a place in a seriously competitive game like this, especially with the amount of damage the rifles are doing. |

No video game should be "seriously competitive"
This isn't football. Its a game people play to relax after a day of work to chill.

Because all you want to do is play it and win every match/
A game is to be fun, and casual, even the more hardcore games are casual compared to actual competitive games.

Yes, I play video games because I like competition, and I like to try hard, and I like to earn victories through effort.
Why do you play video games? To sit around on the couch, put in the bare minimum effort, and to still be rewarded?
There are many video games that can fill that need, and this is not one of them.
I think this right here is an example of the vast gulf between between the current inhabitants of New Eden, and the types of people CCP is apparently trying to reach out to.
If CCP keeps trying to appeal to people who want to click a cow, theyGÇÖre going to destroy one of the most unique universes in gaming history for the benefit of the lowest common denominator.
Keep New Eden hard, disable aim assist and aim your damned selves! |

Aim assist has nothing to do with the reason behind the fact I die in 0.2 seconds from a duvolle.

Aim assist allows better tracking of targets which mathematically translates into more net damage
Statistically, this means there's a higher percentage of bullets being landed over unit time which is why you die so much faster than before. Isn't it sort of a coincidence that the whole TTK arguments came about as soon as we got AA back and hit detection was improved?
That's beside the point. I'm here asking for CCP to give us simple 1:1 raw input regarding mouse controls so that we can level the playing field. As if stands, DS3 users have far better CQC aiming that mouse users because (a) low framerate inherently inhibits your responsiveness to target movement thus increasing delay between tracking, and (b) very strange mouse control (read: not raw input) significantly reduces precision in regards player input.
All I really seek to know is why whatever mouse scheme they created for this game cannot be converted to or at least given the option for raw input.

ok so i see one side that wants things easy. and another side that wants to be competitive.
well heres a perfect solution to that problem.
stop running your stupid proto suits pubstomping everything and maybe the game will become more challenging for u.
other than that.
if we get a better search parameter system in the form of a customizable gear restriction type thing.
there could be a proto only mode for the "competitive players"
and then there could be a mlt only mode for the ppl who want easy mode.
lets see what gets used more after that. my guess is that the mlt side might be used more as the "try hards" who say they want "challenge" would jump into this mode only to have an easy time and pad their own kd/r.
lets just ruin the game and give every1 full proto of every type of item in game and see how it goes from there.
and infinite amounts of cpu and pg to fit on their suits and vehicles. |
