"Autoaim" doesn't
- Lock on target
- Only works when aiming DIRECTLY at target
Go and play COD or BF, and you WILL notice how the game basically clicks your gun directly on the enemy, with out any help from you.
DUST doesn't do that
COD and BF have the Aim slow down when just on target in general.
DUST doesn't do that.
SOURCE
Conclusion- DUST has one of the softest Aim Assist out there.

We have aim-assist, not auto-aim. There's a bid difference between the 2. I never state that AA(aim-assist) locks on to targets. AA actually only kicks in when you directly aim at a target; I have no idea why you claim it doesn't. Once you lock on to a target, the aiming reticle will follow the target to a very limited degree. The aiming reticle doesn't slow down over targets so much as it lightly sticks to them. Thus we don't have aim friction, only aim adhesion. Either your English sucks and you aren't correctly conveying your thoughts or your the kind of knuckle head that argues with someone you mostly agree with. Thats what I said.

Vell0cet wrote:AA isn't the problem. The problem is that the weapons have been balanced around sh*tty hit detection, which has mostly been fixed. They need to nerf damage on a few weapons that are OP right now (probably the upcoming rifles too) and add a slight bit of kick to the AR (significantly less than the AScR). EXACTLY.

Getting a headshot on even a still target takes a few sweeps across their model to get the crosshairs to land just right. Even back in Chromosome (when the mouse had a turn speed cap, but arguably better precision) the top players were still DS3 users *without* the benefit of aim assist. I don't think aim assist really factors into the mouse vs ds3 argument. It's just a crutch that has become "tradition" on consoles, and I don't think it has a place in a seriously competitive game like this, especially with the amount of damage the rifles are doing. Its a game.
No video game should be "seriously competitive"
This isn't football. Its a game people play to relax after a day of work to chill.

Why do you play a video game?
Because all you want to do is play it and win every match/
A game is to be fun, and casual, even the more hardcore games are casual compared to actual competitive games.
